The First Century was the century that lasted from 1 to 100 according to the Julian calendar. It is often written as the First Century AD or First Century CE to distinguish it from the First Century BC (or BCE) which preceded it. The First Century is considered part of the Classical era, epoch, or historical period.
During this period Europe, North Africa and the Near East fell under increasing domination by the Roman Empire, which continued expanding, most notably conquering Britain under the emperor Claudius (43). The reforms introduced by Augustus during his long reign stabilized the empire after the turmoil of the previous century's civil wars. Later in the century the Julio-Claudian dynasty, which had been founded by Augustus, came to an end with the suicide of Nero in 68. There followed the famous Year of Four Emperors, a brief period of civil war and instability, which was finally brought to an end by Vespasian, ninth Roman emperor, and founder of the Flavian dynasty. The Roman Empire generally experienced a period of prosperity and dominance in this period and the First Century is remembered as part of the Empire's golden age.
Me, Myself, and I may refer to:
"Me, Myself, and I" (sometimes "Me, Myself and I (Are All in Love with You)") is a song written by Irving Gordon with lyrics by Allan Roberts and Alvin S. Kaufman.
It was first recorded in 1937 by several artists including Billie Holiday and Her Orchestra, Benny Goodman and His Orchestra, Bob Howard and His Orchestra, and Dick Jurgens and His Orchestra with vocalist Eddy Howard. Other artists to record the song include Lester Young, Ruby Braff, Terry Blane and Tony Bennett, who included it in his 1997 Billie Holiday tribute album, On Holiday.
"Me Myself and I" is a single by De La Soul, released in 1989.
It established the group's characteristic style of combining hip hop with humor and social commentary. The group's frustration concerning their forced-upon hippie label is addressed in the typically dry humor which became the De La Soul trademark. It was the group's only number one on the U.S. R&B chart. The song also topped the U.S. Club Play chart.
The song's number 1 position in The Netherlands was spurred by the VPRO television station, who made a documentary about De La Soul after meeting them when they were still unknown. The record label Indisc acquired the local rights from Tommy Boy Records, and immediately seized the opportunity to release the song as a single.
This song is included in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
It is also used in the video games NBA Street V3 and NCAA Football 06.
It ranked number 46 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop.
The song was used in the opening scene for the season 5 finale of the HBO original series Entourage.
Dove:
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Tell me, mirror, what is wrong?
Can it be my de la clothes
Or is it just my de la song?
What I do ain’t make-beleive
People say I sit and try
But whan it comes to being de la
It’s just me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
Pos:
Now you tease my plug one style
And my plug one spectacles
You say plug one and two are hippies
No, we’re not, that’s pure plug bull
Always pushing that we’ve formed an image
There’s no need to lie
When it comes to being plug one
It’s just me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
Dove:
Proud, I’m proud of what I am
Poems I speak are plug two type
Please oh please let plug two be
Himself, not what you read or write
Right is wrong when hype is written
On the soul, de la that is,
Style is surely our own thing
Not the false disguise of showbiz
De la soul is from the soul
And this fact I can’t deny
Strictly from the dan called stuckie
And from me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
Pos:
Glory, glory hallelu
Glory for plugs one and two
But that glory’s been denied
By kizids and dookie eyes
People think they dis my person
By stating I’m darkly pack
I know this so I point at q-tip
And he states, ’black is black’
Mirror mirror on the wall,
Shovel chestnuts in my path
Please keep on up with the nuts
So I don’t get in aftermath
But if I do I’ll calmly punch them
In the fourth day of july
’cause they tried to mess with
Third degree, that’s me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
It’s just me myself and i
