Men force teen suspected of stealing motorbike into vehicle, assault and threaten him: WA police

Two men have been charged with deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm and threaten to kill after they allegedly forced a 15-year-old boy they suspected had stolen their motorbike into their vehicle.

Midland Detectives are investigating the incident which occurred in Ellenbrook on Saturday.

WA Police say at about midday, the two men were searching near a plantation for their off road motorcycle which was allegedly stolen the night before from their address in Millstream Grove, Ellenbrook.

"The two men saw the motorcycle being ridden in the plantation and approached a group of males nearby, allegedly with the motorcycle," Sergeant Andrew Maher said.

"An altercation occurred and it is alleged the men assaulted one of the males (victim) several times and threatened him with a weapon. The men demanded the victim get into their vehicle whilst threatening to harm him further. The victim got into their vehicle and was driven to an address in Ellenbrook. During the journey the motorcycle was seen again but immediately rode off back into the plantation."

Sergeant Maher said the two men allegedly threatened people at the address, demanding the motorcycle to be returned. The victim managed to escape the vehicle and ran into the address.

The two men then left and police were called.

The teenaged victim sustained bruising and minor cuts to his face.

A 40-year-old man from Ellenbrook will appear in the Midland Magistrates Court on August 18, while a 17-year-old also from Ellenbrook will appear in the Midland Children's Court on August 9.
