A complete, 117 mile clockwise lap of the M25 around London.
This video features much of the 2013 'Ring of Red' ride around the M25 and follows a group of bikers who met at Fleet Services on the M3 and rode in convoy to South Mimms Services. Many chose to complete the whole 117 mile circumnavigation of the M25 but at their own pace, leaving South Mimms after refreshments and bike chat.
The ride was a success and raised several thousand pounds for the Royal British Legion. Riders were required to wear red clothing in order to make the M25 appear like a large poppy from the sky. By all accounts, this was a success with the staggered starting points ensuring that a thin but unbroken line of red bikers was formed.

A third runway at Heathrow provides an opportunity to improve one of the most congested sections of the M25. Our proposals will require a new, tunnelled section. The tunnel will be constructed alongside the existing route and minimise disruption to existing users of the motorway.
Once built, new collector/distributor roads will run parallel to the motorway which will segregate airport and local traffic from the main carriageway, adding capacity to the M25. Separating traffic will reduce the weaving of cars from lane to lane and smooth the traffic flow for non-airport M25 traffic.
Having listened to public feedback, we have also revised our proposals to avoid changes to the M25/M4 interchange.

M25 motorway
The M25 or London Orbital Motorway is a 117-mile (188 km) motorway that almost encircles Greater London, England (with the exception of North Ockendon), in the United Kingdom. A narrower concept was first mooted in the 1960s as part of the plan to build four ring roads around London. A few sections, based on the abandoned London Ringways plan, were constructed in the early 1970s and it was completed in 1986.
It is one of the busiest of the British motorway network: 196,000 vehicles were recorded on a busy day near London Heathrow Airport in 2003 and the western half experienced an average daily flow of 147,000 vehicles in 2007.
Although technically not an entire orbital motorway – a short non-motorway stretch forms the Dartford Crossing (A282) of the River Thames – the M25, at 117 miles (188 km) is Europe's second longest orbital road after the Berliner Ring, which is 122 miles (196 km).
Description
Originally built almost wholly as a dual three-lane motorway, much of the motorway has been widened: to dual four-lanes for almost half, to a dual five-lanes section between junctions 12 and 14 and a dual six-lane section between junctions 14 and 15. Further widening is in progress of minor sections with plans for managed motorways in many others.

A complete, 117 mile clockwise lap of the M25 around London.
This video features much of the 2013 'Ring of Red' ride around the M25 and follows a group of bikers who met at Fleet Services on the M3 and rode in convoy to South Mimms Services. Many chose to complete the whole 117 mile circumnavigation of the M25 but at their own pace, leaving South Mimms after refreshments and bike chat.
The ride was a success and raised several thousand pounds for the Royal British Legion. Riders were required to wear red clothing in order to make the M25 appear like a large poppy from the sky. By all accounts, this was a success with the staggered starting points ensuring that a thin but unbroken line of red bikers was formed.

A third runway at Heathrow provides an opportunity to improve one of the most congested sections of the M25. Our proposals will require a new, tunnelled section. The tunnel will be constructed alongside the existing route and minimise disruption to existing users of the motorway.
Once built, new collector/distributor roads will run parallel to the motorway which will segregate airport and local traffic from the main carriageway, adding capacity to the M25. Separating traffic will reduce the weaving of cars from lane to lane and smooth the traffic flow for non-airport M25 traffic.
Having listened to public feedback, we have also revised our proposals to avoid changes to the M25/M4 interchange.
