Decision Notice-Roundup Sportsman’s Association Shooting Range Grant

The Roundup Sportsman’s Association, 83 Golf Course Road, Roundup, MT 59072, proposes to purchase new bales for the archery range. The Roundup Sportsman’s Association applied for a grant under the Montana Shooting Range Development Program for $2,217 in funding for the cost of purchasing these items. The proposed action is considered a minor repair or maintenance of an existing facility or equipment; or primarily social or economic in nature and that does not otherwise affect the human environment and therefore is exempt from an Environmental Assessment under MEPA (Montana Environmental Policy Act), IAW the MEPA Model Rules implemented under Title 75, chapter 1, MCA, the Montana Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) para. III… (5) The agency is not required to prepare an EA or an EIS for the following categories of action:...(c) minor repairs, operations, or maintenance of existing equipment or facilities; (f) actions that are primarily social or economic in nature and that do not otherwise affect the human environment. The grant proposal review is complete and the funding request for this proposed project is approved, pending Roundup Sportsman’s Association completion of other administrative requirements under the Shooting Range Development Program. FWP will provide up to $5,356.40 in funding for the West Yellowstone Shooting Sports Association’s proposed improvements to install a solar powered entry gate and ADA restroom.
