On this date in 1982, Devo released their fifth full-length album, Oh No! It's Devo! It contained the singles, "Peek-A-Boo! and "That's Good". The album reached the #47 spot on the U.S. albums chart with this issue. The Akron, Ohio punk/new wave band went on hiatus in the early 90's as the band members were involved in separate projects. They resumed recording and performing in 1996.

On this date in 1982, Theatre Of Hate released their sixth single, "Eastworld". It was backed by "Assegai". The 12" version had different mixes of the two 7-inch tracks plus an additional song, "Poppies". None of the tracks appeared on an album as the band disbanded just four month's after this release. The London post-punk/gothic band was led by Kirk Brandon who was previously in The Pack. Theatre Of Hate disbanded in 1983. Kirk Brandon formed Spear Of Destiny. Guitarist Billy Duffy went on to The Cult.

It was an eighteen track blistering effort that did not result in any singles, but did include "Prostitution", the Really Red track that appeared on legendary hardcore compilation album, Let Them Eat Jellybeans.The Houston, Texas hardcore punk band disbanded in 1983 after one album, some singles and two EP's.

The A side appeared on their third album, All Mod Cons. The B sides were non-LP tracks but were added on as bonus tracks when the deluxe edition of the album was released on CD. The single reached the #15 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The Woking, England punk/mod revivalist band have not played together since disbanding in 1982 though Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler have toured together as The Jam since. Paul Weller is the holdout.

Originally called The Farriss Brothers, named after bandmember brothers, Andrew, Jon and Tim, The Perth, Australia new wave band came to a sudden halt when lead singer Michael Hutchence died on November 22, 1997, apparently due to hanging by his own hands. They have recently found a new singer and have recorded and performed.

On this date in 1982, Bauhaus released their third studio album, The Sky's Gone Out. The album included a different mix of the single, "Spirit" (#42 U.K.). The Northampton, England goth band, originally known as Bauhaus 1919, broke up in 1983. Peter Murphy found some success as a solo artist. After some other short-lived projects, the remaining former members of Bauhaus (Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins) formed Love And Rockets. Bauhaus recently reunited to record a new album and tour.

None of the songs found their way onto their 1983 debut album. The Los Angeles punk/neo psychedelic band formed in Tucson, Arizona but moved to Los Angeles in 1980. They released nine albums before disbanding in 1992. They re-formed a few years ago and have toured several times since.

The British power pop band was called The Lonely Boys in the U.S. and the album was called The Lonely Boys. Their U.S. distribution company did not think that Little Bo Bitch was a very marketable name. This was their only album under either moniker. The London, England avant-garde band was actually Frank Tovey and an ever-changing group of musicians. Fad Gadget broke up in 1984. Frank Tovey passed away April 3, 2002.

On this date in 1982, Midnight Oil released their eighth single, a 12-inch fronted by "The Power And The Passion". The B side was "Glitch, Baby Glitch". The A side was an extended version of the track that appeared on their fourth album, 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1. The B side was a non-LP track. The U.S. version had a third track, an instrumental called "Wedding Cake Island". The single reached the #8 spot on their native Australia's singles chart but did not chart elsewhere. The power pop band from Sydney, Australia gained chart success in their homeland long before making any noise in the U.K. and U.S. That would arrive in the mid-80's. The band broke up in 2002.
