In March of 1982, the EP, Antmusic, was released though it was not sanctioned by Adam & The Ants. The songs had been recorded in August of 1979 and the recordings were not owned by Adam & The Ants so they had little to say. The EP tracks were "Kicks", "Physical", "Friends" and "Car Trouble Parts 1 & 2". The EP reached #46 on the U.K. charts. The band on this EP were not the 1982 version of the band. The band was Adam Ant, Matthew Ashman, Dave Barbarossa and Andy Warren. All of the tracks appeared on 1980's debut album, Dirk Wears White Sox.

On this date in 1982, Bananarama released their third single, "Really Saying Something". It was backed by "Give Us Back Our Cheap Fares". The A side was fron their debut album, Deep Sea Skiving. The B side was a non-LP track that was added as a bonus on a later CD release. Fun Boy Three sang background on the A side (sort of a payback for Bananarama's backup vocals on Fun Boy Three's "T'aint What You Do (It's The Way That You Do It)" from earlier in 1982). The single reached the #5 spot on the U.K. singles chart. The London new wave band is still intact though one original member, Siobhan Fahey, left in 1988.

The Melbourne, Australia post-punk band originally recorded under the name The Boys Next Door. In fact, their self-titled debut album was originally released under the name The Boys Next Door before being repackaged. The band called it quits in 1983 and frontman Nick Cave formed The Bad Seeds.

In March of 1981, 4" Be 2" released their third single, All Of The Lads. It was actually an EP that contained "All Of The Lads", "Jimmy Jones" and "Bitch". The London post punk band was fronted by Jimmy Lydon, Johnny's younger brother. This was their last single as Jimmy left the band. They continued on for a little longer with Martin Lydon handling the vocals, Jimmy's younger brother.

On this date in 1979, Sex Pistols released their seventh single, "Silly Thing". It was backed by "Who Killed Bambi?". It was almost the Sex Pistols. The London punk band had disbanded in 1978 when Johnny Rotten left the band. However, the Malcolm McLaren marketing machine was still rolling. Drummer Paul Cook handled the vocals on the A side while Eddie "Tenpole" Tudor handled the vocals on the B side. Both tracks were from the Great Rock & Roll Swindle soundtrack. The single reached the #6 spot on the U.K. singles chart.

The Woking, England punk/mod revivalist band disbanded in 1982. Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler have toured together since. Paul Weller has no interest in a reunion.

In March of 1979, Duffo released his debut single, "Give Me Back Me Brain". It was backed by "Duff Record". Both tracks appeared on his debut punk album, Duffo (he had released two albums in Australia). Originally from Australia, Jeff Duff ("Duffo") relocated to London, put together a band and started releasing punk records in his cross-dressing androgynous persona. The album, Duffo, was also released in March of 1979 and included, aside from "Give Me Back Me Brain", the single "Tower Of Madness". Most recently, he has been making music described as a cross between David Bowie and Frank Sinatra.

On this date in 1981, Red Cross released their self-titled debut EP (nicknamed the "Annie's Got The Hits" EP). It included "Cover Band", "Annette's Got the Hits", "I Hate My School", "Chlorox Girls", "S&M; Party" and "Standing in Front of Poseur". None of the racks appeared on their debut album, Born Innocent, nor were any of the tracks released as singles. The Los Angeles hardcore band included Steve and Jeff McDonald, Ron Reyes (later in Black Flag) and Greg Hetson (of Circle Jerks' fame). They changed their name to Redd Kross later. The band is still together with the McDonald brothers still at the helm.

None of the tracks were included on their 1984 debut album, Pop. The Northampton, England goth/post punk band was a side project for Daniel Ash of Bauhaus and Glen Campling, a Bauhaus roadie. When Bauhaus disbanded in 1983, drummer Kevin Haskins joined Tones On Tail. They lasted until 1985. Ash, Haskins and another former Bauhaus member, David J, formed Love And Rockets.
