La cornada que le costó la vida al torero Iván Fandiño.
Una tarde de sol y calor en la plaza de Aire Sur L'Adour, al sur de Francia, acabó en tragedia para Iván Fandiño. Los tendidos estaban casi llenos y compartía cartel con el salmantino Juan del Álamo y el francés Thomas Dufau. El matador tuvo una primera faena tranquila, elegante y saldada con una oreja cortada. Fue el tercero de la tarde, en el turno del Álamo, un toro llamado ‘Provechito’ el que empitonó al maestro cuando iba a realizar un quite por chicuelinas. Sus compañeros le recogieron en el coso y rápidamente le llevaron a la enfermería donde el matador miró a los ojos a Dudau y le dijo: "Tomás, diles que se den prisa porque siento que el cuerpo se me va". Ya sedado decidieron trasladarle al hospital pero antes de llegar ya nada se podía hacer para salvarle la vida.

Scritta nel 1957, in collaborazione con Nisa, "Torero" aggiunge la figura dello spagnolo alle caricature di Carosone: un matador ispano - napoletano, s'intende. L'idea della Spagna e dei campioni dell'arena era di moda all'epoca, per il chiacchierato matrimonio tra Lucia Bosé e il torero Luis Miguel Dominguin, e proprio in Spagna doveva andare in tournée il musicista quando ebbe l'ispirazione per il pezzo. Con il solito sistema di scambio di battute Nisa e Carosone crearono uno dei personaggi più comici del loro repertorio: "Uè torero!" - esclamò Renato - "te si piazzato 'ncapo stu sombrero" - rispose Nicola e le strofe vennero con la solita facilità. L'accoglienza del brano in Spagna fu calorosa, perché, non capendo bene la lingua, gli spagnoli non colsero lo spirito parodistico e lo scambiarono per un inno al Torero. In Italia ed in America la canzone raggiunse i primi posti nelle hit parade, e rimase per più di tre mesi in testa alle classifiche dei dischi più venduti. Tra chitarre, nacchere, flamenco e italianissimi "Olé" il brano ha girato il mondo, inciso in più di trenta versioni e tradotto in tutte le lingue.

Torero
A torero (Spanish: [toˈɾeɾo]) or toureiro (Portuguese: [toˈɾɐjɾu]) (both from Latin taurarius, bullfighter), is a bullfighter and the main performer in the sport of bullfighting as practised in Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Peru, France and other countries influenced by Spanish culture. In Spanish, the word torero describes any of the performers who participate in the bullfight. The main performer, who is the leader of an entourage and the one who kills the bull, is addressed as maestro (master), and his formal title is matador de toros (killer of bulls). The term torero encompasses all who fight the bull in the ring (picadores and rejoneadores). The other bullfighters in the entourage are called subalternos and their suits are embroidered in silver as opposed to the matador's more-theatrical gold.
In English, the torero is sometimes called the toreador. The term does not exist in Spanish; it was invented by Georges Bizet for his opera Carmen. He needed the syllables of the word to match the timing of the song.

Scritta nel 1957, in collaborazione con Nisa, "Torero" aggiunge la figura dello spagnolo alle caricature di Carosone: un matador ispano - napoletano, s'intende. L'idea della Spagna e dei campioni dell'arena era di moda all'epoca, per il chiacchierato matrimonio tra Lucia Bosé e il torero Luis Miguel Dominguin, e proprio in Spagna doveva andare in tournée il musicista quando ebbe l'ispirazione per il pezzo. Con il solito sistema di scambio di battute Nisa e Carosone crearono uno dei personaggi più comici del loro repertorio: "Uè torero!" - esclamò Renato - "te si piazzato 'ncapo stu sombrero" - rispose Nicola e le strofe vennero con la solita facilità.
