Mortal Kombat is a video game franchise originally developed by Midway Games' Chicago studio in 1992. Following Midway's bankruptcy, the Mortal Kombat development team was acquired by Warner Bros. and turned into NetherRealm Studios. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment currently owns the rights of the franchise and rebooted it in 2011.
The development of the first game was originally based on an idea that Ed Boon and John Tobias had of making a video game starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, but as that idea fell through, a fantasy-themed fighting game titled Mortal Kombat was created instead. The original game has spawned many sequels and has been spun off into several action-adventure games, films (animated and live-action with its own sequel), and television series (animated and live-action). Other spin-offs include comic book series, a card game and a live-action tour. Along with Capcom's Street Fighter and Bandai Namco's Tekken, Mortal Kombat has become one of the most successful fighting franchises in the history of video games.
Mortal Kombat X is a fighting video game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is the tenth main installment in the Mortal Kombat video game series and was released on April 14, 2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. NetherRealm studio's mobile team developed a version for iOS and Android devices. Versions for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 were originally planned for release, but both were later cancelled. Mortal Kombat X was officially announced in June 2014.
Like previous Mortal Kombat games, Mortal Kombat X's gameplay consists of two players, or one player and the CPU, fighting against each other with their selected character, using a large, varied array of character specific attacks. The game contains several modes, such as a story mode, which takes place twenty years after the previous Mortal Kombat game, several 'Tower' modes, which feature dynamically changing challenges, numerous online modes, and the 'Krypt', a mode played in a first-person perspective where players explore the areas unlocking a variety of in-game items.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is a fighting video game based upon the fictional universe of DC Comics. The game was developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. It was released in April 2013 in North America, Europe, and Australia, and June 2013 in Japan. An expanded version of the game, titled Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition, was released in November 2013 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows. A free-to-play mobile app based on Injustice was also released for Android and iOS devices.
Players select one of several characters from the DC Universe to engage in combat, aiming to knock out their opponent. The game is set in a 2.5D environment; while character models and backgrounds are rendered in three-dimensional graphics, the characters are restricted to fight within a two-dimensional space. Injustice builds upon several aspects from NetherRealm Studios' previous title, Mortal Kombat, including its controls, game mechanics, narrative-driven campaign, and online functionality.
This is a list of playable characters from the Mortal Kombat fighting game series and the games in which they appear. The series takes place in a fictional universe composed of six realms, which were created by the Elder Gods. The Elder Gods created a fighting tournament called Mortal Kombat to reduce the wars between the realms. The first Mortal Kombat game introduces a tournament in which Earthrealm can be destroyed if it loses once again.
The Earthrealm warriors manage to defeat the champion Goro and tournament host Shang Tsung, but this leads Tsung to search for other ways to destroy Earthrealm. Since then, every game features a new mortal who wishes to conquer the realms, therefore violating the rules of Mortal Kombat. By Mortal Kombat: Deception, most of the main characters had been killed by Shang Tsung and Quan Chi (neither of whom were playable in the game), but by Mortal Kombat: Armageddon all of them return.
Appearances in the fighting games in the series:
Johnny Cage is a fictional character from the Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise. He debuted as one of the series' original seven characters in the first Mortal Kombat, and has since become a staple of the series. Created as a parody of martial arts actor Jean-Claude Van Damme, Cage is an arrogant and overconfident martial arts film actor who provides the comic relief of the franchise. He became a more layered character in Mortal Kombat X, which introduced his and Sonya Blade's daughter Cassie Cage.
Cage has featured extensively in alternate series media including the two feature films, the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series, comic books, and official series merchandise. General and critical reception of the character has been mostly positive for multiple factors such as his role in the series, his characterization, gameplay, and Fatality finishing moves.
Johnny Cage, birth name John Carlton, is a martial artist and actor who enters Shang Tsung's Mortal Kombat tournament simply to prove that he does not rely on special effects in his films, and is the lone character therein who does not share a past history with any of the game's other characters. In the 1993 sequel Mortal Kombat II, Cage disappears from the set of his latest film after following Liu Kang into Outworld, where he joins forces with his fellow warriors who fight in a second tournament in an attempt to protect Earth against evil Outworld emperor Shao Kahn.

Don't know how you guys feel about watching an hour long worth of casuals, but I thought I get some online gameplay up. So, here's a few matches between me and my friend. I use Erron Black, Mileena, and Jason, he uses Scorpion and Jacqui Briggs. Not sure if they're in exact chronological order, but the most recent ones should be towards the end. You might see some more from us once we get used to more characters. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy! Thanks so much for the support. Have finally reached my 100,000 subscriber milestone! This one is for Dab and Jupiter. One almost made it to EVO Top 8 with this character. The other almost to ESL Season 3 Finals. Nerf Sonya. https://twitter.com/vman95100 http://www.twitch.tv/vman95100
Hello, everyone! Here is my playthrough with Deathstroke. I almost made it through without losing a match. I did lose one match to Scorpion. Speaking of which, Scorpion will be coming up pretty soon. The next character up is Zod and I will be doing Zatanna after. After watching this, be sure to check out SinisterBeet's combo collection featuring Deathstroke! I'll put the link at the end of the video. Hope you enjoy!
A first to 5 segment featuring Gemini, one of the Kenshi players that is part of my stream. Just for fun, we had a Kenshi Mirror Match. My Kenjutsu versus his Balanced. I actually talk in this video too and you'll see why I don't do voice commentary. But, hope you enjoy the matches! twitter.com/vman95100 twitch.tv/vman95100
Here's my combo video featuring Tremor. Tremor feels kind of slow, but is nevertheless a really fun character to play as. Hope you enjoy! Sorry for the wait. Haven't been well these past couple weeks. Got some more Predator gameplay on the way as well as Kenshi. I'll see if I can try Tremor out online as well. https://twitter.com/@vman95100
OK, I want to talk about Ireland
Specifically I want to talk about the "famine"
About the fact that there never really was one
There was no "famine"
See Irish people were only ALLOWED to eat potatoes
All of the other food
Meat fish vegetables
Were shipped out of the country under armed guard
To England while the Irish people starved
And then on the middle of all this
They gave us money not to teach our children Irish
And so we lost our history
And this is what I think is still hurting me
See we're like a child that's been battered
Has to drive itself out of it's head because it's fightened
Still feels all the painful feelings
But they lose contact with the memory
And this leads to massive self-destruction
ALCOHOLISM DRUG ADICTION
All desperate attempts at running
And in it's worst form
Becomes actual killing
And if there ever is gonna be healing
There has to be remembering
And then grieving
So that there then can be forgiving
There has to be knowledge and understanding
An American army regulation
Says you mustn't kill more than 10% of a nation
'Cos to do so causes permanent "psychological damage"
It's not permanent but they didn't know that
Anyway during the supposed "famine"
We lost a lot more than 10% of a nation
Through deaths on land or on ships of emigration
But what finally broke us was not starvation
BUT IT'S USE IN THE CONTROLLING OF OUR EDUCATION
School go on about "Black 47"
On and on about "The terrible "famine""
But what they don't say is in truth
There really never was one
So let's take a look shall we
The highest statistics of child abuse in the EEC
And we say we're a Christian country
But we've lost contact with our history
See we used to worship God as a mother
We're sufferin from POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER
Look at all our old men in the pubs
Look at all our young people on drugs
We used to worship God as a mother
Now look at what we're doing to each other
We've even made killers of ourselves
The most child-like trusting people in the Universe
And this is what's wrong with us
Our history books THE PARENT FIGURES lied to us
I see the Irish
As a race like a child
That got itself basned in the face
And if there ever is gonna be healing
There has to be remembering
And then grieving
So that there then can be FORGIVING
