The Circassians (Circassian: Адыгэхэр, Adygekher) are a North Caucasian ethnic group native to Circassia, who were displaced in the course of the Russian conquest of the Caucasus in the 19th century, especially after the Russian–Circassian War in 1864. The term "Circassian" includes the Adyghe (Circassian: Адыгэ, Adyge) and Kabardian people.
The Circassians mainly speak the Circassian language, a Northwest Caucasian language with numerous dialects. Many Circassians also speak Turkish, Arabic, and various other languages of the Middle East, having been exiled by Russia to lands of the Ottoman Empire, where the majority of them today live, and to neighboring Persia, to which they came primarily through mass deportations by the Safavids and Qajars or, to a lesser extent, as muhajirs in the 19th century. About 700,000 Circassians remain in historical Circassia (the republics of Adygea, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, and the southern half of Krasnodar Krai), and others live in the Russian Federation outside these republics. The 2010 Russian Census recorded 718,727 Circassians, of which 516,826 are Kabardians, 124,835 are Adyghe proper, 73,184 are Cherkess and 3,882 Shapsugs.
The Middle East (also called the Mid East) is a transcontinental region centered on Western Asia and Egypt. The corresponding adjective is Middle-Eastern and the derived noun is Middle-Easterner. Formerly, the Eurocentric synonym Near East (as opposed to Far East) was commonly used. Arabs, Azeris, Kurds, Persians, and Turks constitute the largest ethnic groups in the region by population, while Armenians, Assyrians, Circassians, Copts, Druze, Jews, Maronites, Somalis, and other ethnic and ethno-religious groups form significant minorities.
The History of the Middle East dates back to ancient times, with the (geo-political) importance of the region being recognized for millennia. Several major religions have their origins in the Middle East, including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam; the Baha'i faith, Mandaeism, Unitarian Druze, and numerous other belief systems were also established within the region. The Middle East generally has a hot, arid climate, with several major rivers providing irrigation to support agriculture in limited areas such as the Nile Delta in Egypt, the Tigris and Euphrates watersheds of Mesopotamia, and most of what is known as the Fertile Crescent. Most of the countries that border the Persian Gulf have vast reserves of crude oil, with the dictatorships of the Arabian Peninsula in particular benefiting from petroleum exports. In modern times the Middle East remains a strategically, economically, politically, culturally and religiously sensitive region.
Kfar Kama (Hebrew: כְּפַר כַּמָא; Adyghe: Кфар Кама) is a town located in the lower Galilee, Israel, with a population of 2,900, largely Circassian.
Kfar Kama might be identified with a village Helenoupolis that Constantine established in honor of his mother Helen.
Excavations carried out in 1961 and 1963 revealed 4th century tombs. Two churches dated to the early 6th century, one dedicated to Saint Thecla, were uncovered, with multicolored mosaics of floral, animal and geometric patterns.
In the Crusader period it was known as Kapharchemme or Capharkeme.
Ruins and parts of five limestone columns have been found, together with a circular basalt olive-press and cisterns.
In 1596, Kfar Kama appeared in Ottoman tax registers as a village in the Nahiya of Tiberias in the Liwa of Safad. It had a population of 34 Muslim households and paid taxes on wheat, barley, summercrops, cotton, and goats or beehives.
A map from Napoleon's invasion of 1799 by Pierre Jacotin showed the place, named as El Hadaci.

The Circassians of Jordan Endeavour to Preserve Their Native Language and Culture, Report by AP’s Sam McNeil, February 2015. The Circassians originate from Circassia in the North Caucasus. Hundreds of thousands of Circassians were displaced by the Tsarist Army between 1864-1867, after a century-long war. They relocated to areas across the Middle East, including what is now Jordan. Successful integration in Jordanian society means that the Circassians are struggling to preserve their language and culture. But their sense of ethnic unity remains strong and the pull of their homeland compelling. Prince Hamzeh Circassian School One school in Amman, however, is doing its best to keep the Circassian language alive. As the only fully Circassian school in the Jordanian system, Prince Hamzeh ...

Footage of Circassian horsemen demonstrating their riding skills, shot in Kabarda in 1965. Circassian horse-born warriors (шууей [shuwey], in Circassian; джигит [dzhigit], in Russian) have always been famous for their immaculate equestrian skills. According to tradition, horsemanship reached its heyday in the time of the legendary Narts. It was developed into a magnificent institution with special rules and codes. To crown it all, a god, Zeik’wethe (ЗекIуэтхьэ), was assigned to patronize it, in extension of his original duty as deity of campaigns/raids (зекIуэ; zeik’we). Equestrian competitions (шыуджэгу; schiwjegw; Adigean) were occasions for the village heroes to show off their riding skills. Intrepid horsemen rode their mounts in all positions: upright or clinging to the horse’s side,...
