Bei einem Footballspiel lernen sich die Studenten Benny und Christopher kennen. Selbst Bennys Latino-Eltern haben wenig dagegen, dass die jungen Männer miteinander ausgehen und in den Ferien zusammen verreisen. Schnell wird es ernst zwischen ihnen. So wird ihre gerade erst wachsende Beziehung auf eine harte Probe gestellt.
In ihrem gemeinsamen Regiedebüt lassen die Produzenten Sasha King und Brian O'Donnell den Zuschauer jeden Schritt mitfühlen, den die Liebenden trotz schlechter Vorzeichen gehen. Die Grundkonstellation mag an ''Romeo und Julia'' erinnern, aber die Filmemacher erlauben beiden Familien, sich auf ihre Art mit ihrem Schmerz auseinanderzusetzen. Akron, Ohio
Akron /ˈækrən/ is the fifth-largest city in the U.S. state of Ohio and is the county seat of Summit County. It is in the Great Lakes region approximately 39 miles (63 km) south of Lake Erie along the Little Cuyahoga River. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 199,110. The Akron, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) covers Summit and Portage counties, and in 2010 had a population of 703,200. Akron is also part of the larger Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Combined Statistical Area, which in 2010 had a population of 3,515,646.
Akron was co-founded in December 1825 when suggested by Paul Williams to Simon Perkins. In 1833, "South" was temporarily added to the name when Eliakim Crosby settled a bordering North Akron. After Summit County formed from portions of Portage, Medina, and Stark counties in 1840, Akron succeeded Cuyahoga Falls as county seat a year later. The Akron School Law of 1847 created the K-12 system. In 1851, Sojourner Truth attended a convention and extemporaneously delivered the original "Ain't I a Woman?" speech. During the Civil War, Ferdinand Schumacher supplied the Union Army with oats produced by his mill along the Ohio Canal. Between the 1870s and World War I, numerous churches across the nation were built using the Akron Plan.

Selbst Bennys Latino-Eltern haben wenig dagegen, dass die jungen Männer miteinander ausgehen und in den Ferien zusammen verreisen. Schnell wird es ernst zwischen ihnen. Doch noch wissen sie nicht, dass ein fast vergessener, tragischer Unfall ihre beiden Familien verbindet. Und Akron in Ohio ist nicht groß genug, um Geheimnisse für immer zu bewahren. So wird ihre gerade erst wachsende Beziehung auf eine harte Probe gestellt.
In ihrem gemeinsamen Regiedebüt lassen die Produzenten Sasha King und Brian O'Donnell den Zuschauer jeden Schritt mitfühlen, den die Liebenden trotz schlechter Vorzeichen gehen. Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens (70 acres) is a notable country estate, with gardens, located at 714 North Portage Path in Akron, Ohio. It is one of the largest homes in the U.S., and the largest in Ohio on the list of largest houses in the United States.[3] The estate was built between 1912 and 1915 for F. A. Seiberling, founder of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, and his wife, Gertrude Penfield Seiberling. Akron is home to the annual National Hamburger Festival, which includes a competition called “Bobbing for Burgers”, in which participants attempt to pull burgers out of a tub of ketchup without using their hands. Akron is home of the inventors of the hamburger Frank And Charles Menches who are one of the half dozen people claiming to have invented the first hamburger in 1885 New York State Fair in Hamburg, NY, Frank and Charles ran out of pork for the sandwiches they were vending from their concession booth and instead choose use ground beef.

7. The First police car which was made from a wagon ran off of electricity was used by the Akron police department in 1899. The first operator of the police patrol wagon was Akron Police officer Louis Mueller, Sr. It could reach 16 mph (26 km/h) and travel 30 mi (48 km) before its battery needed to be recharged. The car was built by city mechanical engineer Frank Loomis. The US$2,400 vehicle was equipped with electric lights, gongs, and a stretcher. The car's first assignment was to pick up a drunken man at the junction of Main and Exchange streets.

Akron is home to the annual National Hamburger Festival, which includes a competition called “Bobbing for Burgers”, in which participants attempt to pull burgers out of a tub of ketchup without using their hands. Akron is home of the inventors of the hamburger Frank And Charles Menches who are one of the half dozen people claiming to have invented the first hamburger in 1885 New York State Fair in Hamburg, NY, Frank and Charles ran out of pork for the sandwiches they were vending from their concession booth and instead choose use ground beef.
