Live: Evacuations in Christchurch emergency

Residents are being urgently evacuated from their homes after two major rivers burst their banks. The earlier high tide worsened matters by adding to the already "dangerous" floodwaters. Elsewhere in the South Island, the rain is starting to ease and emergency measures are being lifted.
