Member Benefits

What is the value of WDA membership?

The WDA offers programs and services to benefit your dental career and to help you save money in your practice and personal life.

Advocacy –  The WDA has 3,000 member dentists and a number of dental hygienists. With just 3,500 licensed dentists in the state, the WDA is considered the leading voice for dentistry in Wisconsin. Staff and contract lobbyists work with dentist leaders and other members to represent the profession’s interests before elected officials and oral health organizations. Member communications keep you informed about hot topics in dentistry and the legislative arena.

WDA member communications – Exclusive WDA member publications offer timely, need-to-know information on important topics related to the practice and profession of dentistry. Our family of state association publications include: WDA Journal (bimonthly, full-color print); WDAJ-Now 2.0 (news app); WDA Insider (members-only blog) and WDA Sourcebook – Member Directory and Practice Guide (annual print and online PDF).

Continuing education – As an approved PACE Program Provider, the WDA offers a variety of CE opportunities to help dental professionals stay current in their practices and maintain their licenses This includes the annual CE and networking event presented by Dr. Gordon Christensen on Nov. 2, 2017.

Consumer awareness – Our statewide oral health literacy, public awareness Own Your Smile campaign educates Wisconsin adults about the importance of good dental health and encourages them to seek affordable, preventive care in WDA member dentists’ offices. Through the nationwide Find A Dentist online directory, prospective Wisconsin patients search for a WDA member dentist an average of more than 660 times per month. Make sure patients click on your member profile by adding your photo.

Practice management – Our network of resources (staff; member communications; endorsed products, programs and services) can help answer questions pertaining to regulatory, insurance, employment, human resources, marketing, office administration, finance/banking and more.

Networking opportunities – Local component meetings, Mentor Program, new dentist programs and CE events all offer WDA members the opportunity to engage with colleagues.

Volunteering opportunities – Serving others through the WDA Mission of Mercy and Donated Dental Services are great ways to volunteer your time and talent.
