Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, 'Satellite', by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini. Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin's Plus8, Sven Vath's Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer's Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like 'Zoe', 'Polyester' and 'Fire In My Arms', all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game. Incredibly, 'Satellite' is Sam's first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off. From there it's a case of getting straight down to business. 'Another Chance' is a spacey bit of cantering techno and 'White' is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. 'Down' is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like 'Lotus' are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale. No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like 'Dusty', 'Toxic' and 'Rave'. Despite 'Satellite' being Sam's debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.(Beatport)

Rave Culture is one of Britain’s great cultural exports, but after its first wave in the late eighties and early nineties, it was soon forced into the underground by stringent new laws and superclubs. But forward 25 years into in the midst of a nationwide purge on the nation’s nightlife, where nearly half of all British clubs have shut down in the last decade, and a new kind of scene has emerged.
Clive Martin investigates this 21st century version of Rave, where young people break into disused spaces with the help of bolt-cutters and complicated squatting laws, to suck on balloons and go hard into the early morning.
But with the police using increasingly extreme tactics to clamp down on these parties, and more than one fatality causing nationwide media panic, can the scene survive?

I went to Electric Daisy Carnival 2010 (Also known as EDC 2010) last night, and must say it was the best party I've ever been to! So much to see, do, and AMAZING music!
My favorite set was performed by Infected Mushroom. Fantastic music and performance. Deadmau5 had good music, but his performance was disappointing for being the headliner.
One of the best things about EDC was that it was a combination of a sorta rave mixed with a carnival, so there were plenty of free rides and deliciously bad for you fairground food. There were colorful lights decorating the entire place, and huge statues made of what looked like bronze that were also shooting FIRE.
Everyone there was friendly and fun, the girls dressed HOT, and it was just a great time. I witnessed no douchebaggery whatsoever, other than the dumb girl who ran into me and knocked over my $8 chicken terriaki out of my hands after I only had 2 bites. Sadness.

Rave
A rave (from the verb: to rave) is a large dance party featuring performances by DJs and occasionally live performers playing electronic music, particularly electronic dance music (EDM). The music is amplified with a large, powerful sound reinforcement system, typically with large subwoofers to produce a deep bass sound. The music is accompanied by laser light shows, projected images, visual effects and fog machines. The word "rave" was first used in the late 1980s to describe the subculture that grew out of the acid house movement.
While some raves may be small parties held at nightclubs or private residences, some raves have grown to immense size, such as the Castlemorton Common Festival in 1992. Some electronic dance music festivals have features of raves, but on a large, often commercial scale. Raves may last for a long time, with some events continuing for ten hours. Due to the association of illegal party drugs such as MDMA (ecstasy) and the use of non-authorized, secret venues for some raves, such as squat parties at warehouses, law enforcement attention has been directed at the rave scene in many countries.

Paganini Traxx
Sam Paganini is a DJ and producer from Treviso, Veneto, Italy. His 1997 song, "Zoe", made #47 on the UK Singles Chart. He has since released many singles and EPs under his given name, including the very successful Body to Body EP on Cocoon Recordings. In 2014, Sam released his debut album, Satellite, on Drumcode Records. The album was received very well, and one of the tracks from the album, "Rave," remained in the Beatport Techno Top 10 for six months, and has remained in the Techno Top 100 for a year as of September 2015.

What is a Rave Like
I went to Electric Daisy Carnival 2010 (Also known as EDC 2010) last night, and must say it was the best party I've ever been to! So much to see, do, and AMAZING music! My favorite set was performed by Infected Mushroom. Fantastic music and performance. Deadmau5 had good music, but his performance was disappointing for being the headliner. One of the best things about EDC was that it was a combination of a sorta rave mixed with a carnival, so there were plenty of free rides and deliciously bad for you fairground food. There were colorful lights decorating the entire place, and huge statues made of what looked like bronze that were also shooting FIRE. Rave Culture is one of Britain’s great cultural exports, but after its first wave in the late eighties and early nineties, it was soon forced into the underground by stringent new laws and superclubs. But forward 25 years into in the midst of a nationwide purge on the nation’s nightlife, where nearly half of all British clubs have shut down in the last decade, and a new kind of scene has emerged.
Clive Martin investigates this 21st century version of Rave, where young people break into disused spaces with the help of bolt-cutters and complicated squatting laws, to suck on balloons and go hard into the early morning.
But with the police using increasingly extreme tactics to clamp down on these parties, and more than one fatality causing nationwide media panic, can the scene survive?

I went to Electric Daisy Carnival 2010 (Also known as EDC 2010) last night, and must say it was the best party I've ever been to! So much to see, do, and AMAZIN...
I went to Electric Daisy Carnival 2010 (Also known as EDC 2010) last night, and must say it was the best party I've ever been to! So much to see, do, and AMAZING music!
My favorite set was performed by Infected Mushroom. Fantastic music and performance. Deadmau5 had good music, but his performance was disappointing for being the headliner.
One of the best things about EDC was that it was a combination of a sorta rave mixed with a carnival, so there were plenty of free rides and deliciously bad for you fairground food. There were colorful lights decorating the entire place, and huge statues made of what looked like bronze that were also shooting FIRE.
Everyone there was friendly and fun, the girls dressed HOT, and it was just a great time. I witnessed no douchebaggery whatsoever, other than the dumb girl who ran into me and knocked over my $8 chicken terriaki out of my hands after I only had 2 bites. Sadness.

German police temporarily halted an open-air weekend concert Rock am Ring on Friday at the Neurburging race track due to a possible terrorist threat, according to Reuters.
