Andrew is the English form of a given name common in many countries. In the 1990s it was among the top ten most popular names for boys in English-speaking countries. In Italian, the equivalent to "Andrew" is "Andrea", though "Andrea" is feminine in most other languages. "Andrew" is frequently shortened to "Andy" or "Drew". The word is derived from the Greek: Ανδρέας, Andreas, itself related to Ancient Greek: ἀνήρ/ἀνδρός aner/andros, "man" (as opposed to "woman"), thus meaning "manly" and, as consequence, "strong", "courageous", and "warrior". In the King James Bible, the Greek "Ἀνδρέας" is translated as Andrew.
In 2000, the name Andrew was the second most popular name in Australia. In 1999, it was the 19th most common name, while in 1940, it was the 31st most common name. Andrew was the first most popular boys name in the Northern Territory in 2003 to 2015 and continuing. In Victoria, Andrew was the first most popular name for a boy in the 1970s.
Andrew was the 20th most popular name chosen for male infants in 2005. Andrew was the 16th most popular name for infants in British Columbia in 2004, the 17th most popular name in 2003, and the 19th most popular name in 2002. In 2001, it was the 18th most common name. From 1999 – 2003, Andrew was the sixth most often chosen name for a boy.
A high school (also secondary school, senior school, secondary college) is a school that provides adolescents with part or all of their secondary education. It may come after primary school or middle school and be followed by higher education or vocational training.
The term "high school" originated in Scotland, with the world's oldest high school being Edinburgh's Royal High School from 1505. The Royal High School was used as a model for the first public high school in the United States, Boston Latin School founded in Boston, Massachusetts.
The precise stage of schooling provided by a high school differs from country to country, and may vary within the same jurisdiction. In all of New Zealand and Malaysia, along with most of Britain and parts of Australia, Bangladesh and Canada, high school means the same thing as secondary school, but instead of starting in 9th grade, these "secondary schools" begin at ages 11 or 12.
In Australia, high school is a secondary school, from Year 7 or Year 8 through to Year 12, varying from state to state. High school immediately follows primary (elementary) school; therefore, a Year-7 Australian high-school student is sometimes as young as 12. In Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory, the term "high school" generally refers to Years 7–10, whereas the term "College" is used for Years 11–12. In Victoria the term "secondary college" has largely replaced the term "high school" following the reforms of the Labor Government in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Some schools have retained the name "high school" (such as Melbourne High School) and many have now dropped the "secondary" and are simply known as "college".

According to at least one report, 2015 Cross Border M&A; was up 27% compared to 2014. And it represented 2/3 of M&A; deals across the globe. There’s no reason to believe this trend will not continue into 2016. In this episode of M&A; Talk, I speak with Andrew Sherman of Jones Day. Jones Day ranked #1 worldwide for number of deals in both the Thomson Reuters and Bloomberg M&A; league tables for the fourth quarter of 2015 and the full year, maintaining a position the Firm has held for 61 consecutive calendar quarters. Andrew will share his unique perspectives on 2015 and 2016 as well as some of the very different challenges and opportunities that Cross Border transactions can provide.
The Crisis of Employee Disengagement and It's Impact on M&A; Success People are the valued resources and the engine and growth in many, if not most, M&A; transactions. And yet, at least in the Unites States, more than two-thirds of the workforce is not engaged. Is this a cultural issue, a shortcoming of leadership, an oversight? And what then is the impact on the potential success of an M&A; transaction? We have two thought leaders with us today, both with vast knowledge of the intricacies of M&A; to discuss the problem, its implications, and some perspectives on solutions. Andrew Sherman is an accomplished attorney with expertise in a number of differing specialties and is currently a partner at Seyfarth Shaw LLP. He is also an educator and an author, his just released book is entitled "Th...
