note:
This is truly one of the very best George Michael bootlegs to ever surface. This was recorded during the height of his commericial success, on the wildly successful Faith Tour. George is at the very top of his game vocally, even hitting the high notes in "One More Try" with ease. "Hard Day" comes off much better here than it does on record, making for an excellent lead-off track. The Stevie Wonder cover, "Love's In Need Of Love Today" is a song that suits George's voice perfectly and he really shines on it. The hit duet with Aretha Franklin, "I Knew You We're Waiting" is performed solo here, and you really don't miss Aretha, George nails it on his own. "Careless Whisper" is milked to the extreme, with an extended saxaphone solo that really takes this epic to the next level. Deon Estus, bass player and backround vocalist is a standout on this recording, laying down a solid groove throughout the show. The 1996 unplugged shows are excellent, but this recording, with a full band is very, very special.

notes:
This concert is a wonder, excellent sound and performance. It was recorded at Fairfield Hall in Croydon UK, according to the notes, and either a soundboard or fm broadcast. Regardless, it's a very representative show from 1975 with Kommetmelody and Autobahn, from a classic period. Unfortunately the torrent had no flac log, except what is below. Enjoy, and it does have some lineage. an artwork .jpeg is included, nice cover! Thank you to the original taper, the uploader, and anyone else involved with this. I have the fm, although somewhat ratty, of the Chicago Aragon performance from that year, off WXRT FM, which is 65 minutes. It's on recordable 8-track, remember those? This setlist follows it almost exactl They toured with Greenslade opening for them, but had them removed from the tour later. It seems they rocked, and were followed by two guys sitting at an array of synths, which was confusing and didn't go over well, according to the Chicago Tribune, at the time.

This remastered version has been repaired and enhanced for ultimate listening enjoyment. There is no hiss reduction of any kind.

11 - Blue Monday

Info:
Another glorious SBD recording of mid-80s New Order, this time from Orleans, France. Lineage is the same stash-o-soundboards from (most likely) Hooky's Suite 16 recording studio, liberated by Brian Whittaker (Revenge touring bassist) via eBay, but previous to selling copied amongst the NO trading community in the UK.

From a post by OldMonkey on STG:
"A box of mixing desk tapes was found in a rehearsal studio used by Peter Hook. They were advertised on E-bay by Brian Whittaker, former Revenge live guitarist. David Sultan of the website "World in Motion" paid over £500 to win the auction. Before they were sent to David though, they were copied amongst the Manchester bootlegging fraternity, and are now widely available in the UK and wider. Coincidentally (or otherwise, and this is where it gets good), the majority of the shows in this box were the complete gigs from the tracks used on the live
disc of Retro (plus quite a few other gigs). It appears as though Hooky meant for them to find their way to the bootleg hardcore......."

This thing sounds just as phenomenal as all the other ATR/STASH soundboards posted recently. Features the next-to-last performance of "Hurt" and the last-ever "ICB".

"ICB" would be a CRACKING take if not for Hooky's bass amp packing it in at 1:53, finally re-appearing at 2:42. Barney does some interesting lyric changes here as well.

"She's Lost Control" is an absolute disaster though, while quite interesting (in a scene-of-the-accident kind of way) to listen to. No wonder they didn't play it after this gig until 2002.
At 0:48 features Barney yelling "Jesus!" regarding some mistake - he should have waited, because a few seconds later Hooky makes a particularly gnarly screwup... This song is definitely not Hooky's finest 4 minutes of recorded history as most of the mistakes seem to be his.

Classic Hooky-ism before "The Perfect Kiss":
PH: "Love the sounds of your own voices don't you, you boring bastards."

Classic intro to "This Time Of Night":
BS: "Hi, everyone. Bonjour. A la nuit. This one is called, eh, "Dans cette time a la nuit".
"Fromage a Potage. Fucky fucky. Fucky fucky."

Classic lyric change in "TTON", at 1:13 (in this re-tracksplit version):
BS (singing): "The bass sequencer I cannot hear / If you turn it up, my ears will feel much better, Eddie / "I can hear the bass sequencer / Turn it up, you..." while Hooky fills in the correct backing vox

This has always been one of my all time favorite bootleg shows (meaning all 5 bands). What a day for the rockers of Des Moines, not only this amazing festival but also Van Halen played later that evening at the Memorial Auditorium. The recordings of all five bands are simply amazing, it doesn't get much better than this for an audience recording. Great show from Dokken at their peak, George Lynch's playing is just awesome.

This bootleg is from Def Leppard's homecoming concert at the newly-opened Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield on 6 June 1993. I believe the original source for the bootleg was a Japanese TV broadcast, which explains the truncation of the frequency response around 15kHz. I went to a lot of effort to track down an original pressed CD copy of this, as I was worried that the other copies I had looked as if they had been through MP3 encoding; on checking the original, I believe this is an artifact of the original broadcast rather than anything that has happened since!

Source Info:
I got this source from Usenet in SHN, and I did my thing and encoded in Flac. Beyond that is anybody's guess. But you have my stamp of approval for quality.

Notes:
Sabbaths' early albums just didn't capture the full on energy of the band, it seemed "canned" and somewhat light-weight compared to their live shows. Unbridled and raw, the band live had so much more impact. This is an excellent representation of that fact.
