Cape Town (Afrikaans: Kaapstad [ˈkɑːpstɐt]; Xhosa: Ikapa) is a city in South Africa. It ranks third among the most populous urban areas in South Africa, after Johannesburg and Durban, and has roughly the same population as the Durban Metropolitan Area. It is also the provincial capital and primate city of the Western Cape. It is the southernmost city on the African continent.
As the seat of the National Parliament it is also the legislative capital of the country. It forms part of the City of Cape Town metropolitan municipality. The city is famous for its harbour, for its natural setting in the Cape Floristic Region, as well as for such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point. As of 2014, it is the 10th most populous city in Africa and home to 64% of the Western Cape's population. It is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, reflecting its role as a major destination for immigrants and expatriates to South Africa. The city was named the World Design Capital for 2014 by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design. In 2014, Cape Town was named the best place in the world to visit by both The New York Times and The Telegraph.

Ridley Scott is back. And he couldn't have come too soon. Cinema in 2012 is threatening to bore us half to death with average. Let the carnage begin.
This is our Video from a more or less spontaneous project we started in december last year. It was supposed to be a short action clip and came out as a hopefully authentic portrait of Cape town seen through the eyes of Windsurfers. It was christmas time down in South Africa when Leon, Henrik and Leif arrive in Cape Town, and half of the european windsurfing population had decided to join us. When we drove out to sunset beach it was always the samescene;. hectic car parks and mellow, choppy waves. They only had a month before they had to go back to Germany and sit out the rest of the harsh winter, so the mission was set to score the best surf possible. The conditions up in Cape Town were not really satisfying, so we started hitting the road down the cape of good hope more and more. The c...
This is our Video from the result of a more or less spontaneous project we started in december 2010. It was supposed to be a short action clip but ended up as a 23 min windsurf movie. Now we have brought it back, to our original idea of a clip. We just wanted to keep the summer vibes alive with a focus on trying to create some eye candy, giving us the opportunity to let our minds and those of anyone else who likes it, drift away . No budget, no worries - just freedom in what we are doing. We hope you enjoy watching this clip as much as we enjoyed creating it! to watch the 1st, long version follow this link! vimeo.com/26647014 Music // Noir Désir - Le vent nous portera itunes.apple.com/de/album/le-vent-nous-portera/id26259265?i=26259284 Golden Earing - Radar Love itunes.apple.com/...

*Updated video* The FORBES 70 oversized image pickup area (width of 65mm) is pushing the wide angle lenses too far beyond their normal working image circles since the lenses are designed for medium format (56mm wide image area) however the effect is rather pleasing and in black and white the noise at the corners is less of an issue. - I've de saturated the footage to B+W since I am incapable of grading to a high enough standard. The noise visible on the 50mm and 40mm shots are caused by my pulling up the corners in raw. since I exposed for the bright sky and the edges of the frame tended to fall on dark areas in shadow under the thick canopy of summer leaves, the lack of image coverage of the wide angle lenses becomes even more obvious. In an open space without such a blanket of shadows a...
A bunch of short cuts of footage from our sample videos edited into a shorter more manageable 2 minutes.. You can buy your Flare Factory 58 at http://www.dogschidtoptiks.co.uk This video shows many different combinations of Flare Factory 58 lens in various situations with only slight grading on some clips, and a lot of shots unprocessed, straight as they came out of the camera. You'll see custom aperture shapes like 1.5x and 2x ovals for an anamorphic look, ultra low contrast, flares, coloured tints, using the lenses with anamorphic lenses like the Iscorama (clips which are 2.66:1) and the Century 1.33x (2.35:1) (oval 2x bokeh works great with the century!), and a load of other interesting optical artifacts created by various configurations of the Flare Factory 58. ****Anything show...
http://www.dogschidtoptiks.co.uk The Dog Schidt Optiks Flare Factory 58 'TRUMP' is the ultimate professional effects lens. Building upon the existing FF58, TRUMP adds professional features such as follow focus gearing and integrated interchangeable flare control mattebox/hood system. While allowing the user the same optical characteristics as the now 'classic' FF58, it adds the ability to rapidly interchange between a huge selection of bundled aperture elements on the fly. This video shows just one of the many processes that go into a DSO 'TRUMP'. CNC turning of one of the aluminium body parts. This video was shot using one of our new FF58 tint options 'Bronze/Red/Amber blend'. Some shots illustrate the effect very prominently. Sorry for the jolty footage. -We were trying to stay...

Travel video about destination Cape Town in South Africa. Located on the southern edge of Africa and lying at the foot of Table Mountain, the metropolis of Cape Town is certainly one of the world's most beautiful cities, an exciting combination of Africa, Europe and the Caribbean. In the park-lined Government Avenue and Queen Victoria Street, there's a wonderful collection of well-restored Victorian houses and the Anglican St. Georges Cathedral is where Archbishop Desmond Tutu protested against Apartheid. Part of the historic harbor is the Victoria And Alfred Waterfront. In 1860, Prince Alfred ordered construction of a new harbor basin, followed by the Victoria Basin that contained two watchtowers. Today, the whole of the old port is an internationally-styled entertainment and shopping c...

During the days of apartheid, the Muizenberg beach was off limits to blacks. They could only go to beaches abandoned by the whites : beaches that were too dangerous, or shark-infested… After apartheid, a white man decided to initiate poor black kids in surfing, to get them off drugs. One pupil even became world champion, to the delight of the whole community. Social rifts still exist, however. The Camps Bay beach is for the wealthiest, obviously mostly white, whereas the blacks tend to go to the Muizenberg Beach. In the evening, however, they all frequent the bars, restaurants and clubs along the Camp Bay promenade. As violence is still prevalent in Sou...

The Baroness tackles subjects including pornography, S&M;, swinging, prostitution, traditional African sex therapies, gay nightlife and other topics 'hidden' in the underworlds of Johannesburg and beautiful Cape Town. Touring in her limo (driven by Gino, her stud driver and cohort) from nudist beaches to pick-up joints, the Baroness chats to ordinary people she encounters; both those in search of a good time as well as those that provide these services. He explains the history from apartheid to current day, and how tourism has helped benefit the local community. We even share a beer and watch a soccer game in a shebeen with the locals. In Fall of 2009, I hunted black wildebeest in Africa in order to again "meet my meat." My wonderful guide was Chris Bolton, of Zungah Safaris, in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. After the hunt, we transported the meat to a well-known Cape Town Chef, Pete Goff, of The Kitchen Cowboys. This was a very emotional experience for me and my friend, Sonja Kroop, who was shooting most of the footage. We had not anticipated the hunt nor filming, when we arrived to visit a friend in Cape Town, so the footage quality is old mini-dv, not high quality HD. Some viewers may find this to be GRAPHIC CONTENT, as it shows the killing of an animal for food.
Drying racks abound for stock fish (cod) which dry all winter - the vast majority is exported, seems that the dry fish heads are exported to Nigeria for fish head soup (this year at least otherwise ground into meal). North Cape (NordKapp 71 degrees 10' 21") - the northern most point on mainland Europe. A small town of 3,000+ people which has seven months of winter and five months for the other three seasons. So far this year it has not been above sixty degrees, today (late July) it is about forty degrees with rain and a gusting wind of about 30MPH. There is one snow blower truck for each ten miles of road since the quantity of snow is immense and will last until the beginning of May; as of the end of July remnants still remain all over the landscape.
