Police found Ms Gascoigne's body in a Mitsubishi Lancer being driven on the Cedric Street on-ramp at around 12.35am on Saturday morning.

The driver of the Mitsubishi Lancer, a 49-year-old man, has been helping police with their inquiries.

According to a 9 News Perth report which aired on Monday night, the 49-year-old man was "allegedly being forced to dispose of her body."

Detective Senior Sergeant Bailey said the 49-year-old, Mr Newton and Ms Gascoigne were all known to each other.

Police searched two houses in Scarborough on Saturday in connection with the investigation.

One of the homes was on Abbett Street, the other on Wilton Place.

Police returned to the Abbett Street home on Monday and also searched nearby bushland in Karrinyup.

The 9 News Perth report also carried a message from Mr Newton's brother, pleading for him to turn himself in.

"I don't want you to get hurt please hand yourself into police," he said.

It was also revealed on Monday night that Mr Newton previously reached out to 7 News Perth in 2009 to raise concerns about his treatment by police, during his arrest.

He gave an interview about the incident in which he said he lost several teeth.

"It was an experience I would never want to go through again," he told 7 News.

"It was incredibly painful."

Mr Newton is described as light skinned, approximately 186cm tall, with a medium build, very short dark hair and brown eyes.

Members of the public should not to approach him and should call police immediately on 131 444.
