"Concrete Angel" is a song written by Stephanie Bentley and Rob Crosby, and recorded by American country music artist Martina McBride. It was released in November 2002 as the fourth and last single from McBride's Greatest Hits album. The song went on to reach #5 on the country music charts.
"Concrete Angel" is a power ballad, centering on a main theme of child abuse and in a different context, bullying. The narrator tells a story about 7-year-old named Angela Carter. Near the end, her mother beats Angela to death. Some people, such as Angela's teacher, notice signs of abuse but attempt to ignore them.
The video was directed and produced by Deaton Flanigen. Angela Carter (Noel Wiggins), is the 7-year-old daughter of an abusive mother. As she walks to school, a girl looks at her and laughs at her (which could imply she was also a victim of bullying. While she's at school, the teacher and her classmates ignore the bruises on her body, either because they think she just had a minor accident or they want to avoid having problems with her family. One day, a boy who is an angel (Luke Benward) befriends her. One night, Angela is talking to the boy who is in a house that no one lives in because the lights were out. But then, her mother catches her and beats her to death. After the beating, police officers and an ambulance are shown at her house. Angela's grave (marked 1995-2002) is shown, surrounded by a group of people, including her teacher, and her only friend. (It is implied that the boy is an angel that comes to her before she passes and shows her friendship) The boy passes through the adults, hugs the angel of Angela and both run to meet a group of abused children as they run off into the horizon. When the video was originally released, it featured the phone number for the American Child Abuse Hotline and encouraged viewers to report abuse.
What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington's Culture of Deception is an auto-biographical bestseller by Scott McClellan, who served as White House Press Secretary from 2003 until 2006 under President George W. Bush. The book was scheduled to be released on June 2, 2008; however, excerpts were released to the press a week before publication. The book quickly became a media sensation for its candid, insider's critique of the Bush administration and ran as a leading story on most top news outlets days after the content became public. It was listed as a number-one bestseller by the New York Times and on Amazon.com when it first went on sale.
McClellan harshly criticizes the Bush administration over its Iraq war-making campaign, though he writes in detail about his personal admiration for President Bush. He accuses Bush of "self-deception" and of maintaining a "permanent campaign approach" to governing, rather than making the best choices. McClellan stops short of saying Bush purposely lied about his reasons for invading Iraq (in fact, stating flatly that he did not believe that Bush would intentionally lie), writing that the administration was not "employing out-and-out deception" to make the case for war in 2002, though he does assert the administration relied on an aggressive "political propaganda campaign" instead of the truth to sell the Iraq war. The book is also critical of the press corps for being too accepting of the administration's perspective on the Iraq War, and of Condoleezza Rice for being "too accommodating" and overly careful about protecting her own reputation.
A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.

During an armed exploration, Smith is captured, but spared when the chief's favorite daughter Pocahontas pleads for the stranger who soon becomes her lover and learns to love their naive 'savage' way of harmonious life. Ultimately he returns to the grim fort, which would starve hadn't she arranged for Indian generosity. Alas, each side soon brands their own lover a traitor, so she is banished and he flogged as introduction to slavish toiling. Changes turn again, leading Smith to accept a northern-more mission and anglicized Pocahontas, believing him dead, becoming the mother of aristocratic new lover John Rolfe's son. They'll meet again for a finale in England.

For this music video, I wanted to revisit a past concept from a Collective Soul video that I made and combine it with a really cool technique I saw from a video called "Light Works". The goal was to take an electronic genre music video and create something different from the typical "in the club" with people dancing and the DJ spinning. Enjoy!

We can make believe we're happy and free.
It's automatic when the money is in our hands.
People always try to look beyond their own lives, but I know that it won't last. Pride comes before our fellow man.
It's a perfect day for us to make a change.
Forget about the watered down mistakes that we have made.
There's a way to clear our tainted names, just look ahead and don't be scared. We've got so many choices to make.
Take a look around (just look around), where is your hope found (where is it found)?
Is it the ones you love or just your bank account?
We all want to be (we want to be) the people we should never be.
We're buying things we just don't need.
Paying for things we don't need to impress those we don't know.
Indebted to our own accessories.
We hide behind our own lives with our fake dreams, it just can't be the only thing we have worth living for.
(We will live. We will die, not by the sword, but by our pride.
We are stripped. We are torn. Is my own wealth worth living for?)
It's a perfect day for us to make a change.
Forget about the watered down mistakes that we have made.
Morning breaks into a brand new day, so look ahead and don't be scared.
