I want to explain to you what BCE and CE are
And compare them to BC and AD
I also want to look out how we can read year dates in BCE or BC
Here is a timeline. At one end we have 2000 BCE
At the other end we have 2000 CE and 2012 CE -- where we are now.
But wait!
Wasn't it 2012A.D.?
Why was the wording changed?
To understand why some people have moved from BC
To BCE, let's look at the origin of BC and AD.
Invented by Dionysus Exiggus
Started the "Year of our Lord" at where he figured Jesus was born.
If you aren't religious or you don't believe that Jesus was Christ, then it wouldn't make much sense for you to use BC or AD. So, people have started using BCE or CE to be respectful of people who aren't Christians.
But, still, the numbers stay the same. And BCE, just like BC, counts backwards.
900 BCE or BC was BEFORE 500 BCE or BC
And anything BCE or BC was before anything CE or AD

Original Question
In your video about different crosses, you used the terms BCE/CE instead of BC/AD. To me, talking about history in terms of a "Common Era" assumes that the age in which we live is fundamentally no different than any other era. It's just a way to talk about historical dates. But as Christians, we believe that God actually entered history, which does make the era in which we live, the "year of our Lord," fundamentally different. So, isn't the use of BC/AD a powerful way to acknowledge and affirm our belief that human history is relative to Christ's presence in it?

I recall the first time I encountered the modern awfulness that is the terminology 'C.E.' and 'B.C.E.' - it was in a museum in Europe. Here I present my solution to the non-problem.
I spent a day making this video, and then didn't like the result. For one thing, it was too long and rambling at four and a half minutes, so the next day I remade it, and I've now managed to cut it down to eight and half minutes.

Common Era or Current Era, abbreviated CE, is a calendar era that is often used as an alternative naming of the Anno Domini system ("in the year of the Lord"), abbreviated AD. The system uses BCE as an abbreviation for "before the Common (or Current) Era" and CE as an abbreviation for "Common Era". The CE/BCE designation uses the year-numbering system introduced by the 6th-century Christian monk Dionysius Exiguus, who started the Anno Domini designation, intending the beginning of the life of Jesus to be the reference date. KALEIDOLAPSE Kaleidolapse is a visual technique that applies a kaleidoscopic effect to different shots taken with time-lapse technique. This effect generates multiple moving images that are symmetrically multiplied which gives them an abstract look with a great richness of shapes and colors. The music together with the movement rhythm of the images will set the character we want to give to the video. KALEIDOLAPSE: Es una técnica audiovisual consistente en aplicar un efecto caleidoscópico a distintas tomas realizadas con la técnica del timelapse. Con la aplicación de este efecto se generan imágenes en movimiento multiplicadas simétricamente, lo que confiere a las mismas un aspecto abstracto con una gran riqueza de formas y colores. BARCELONA KALEIDOLAPSE Since we saw the implementation of this time-lapse kaleidoscopic effect, we felt the need to play with this technique. We wanted this Kaleidolapse to have a common link in all its images so we dove on our hard drives to look for the time-lapses we've been doing in the city of Barcelona during the last 4 years. We selected those images that we thought that could work better with this technique and we chose the music: a great hit of the New York American Dollar “Signaling Through The Flames”. We were then ready to start playing with the kaleidoscopic effect. There were endless possibilities so we got carried away by the inspiration of the moment and the music. We set a single mandatory criterion: at some point in every shot anyone should be able to identify the site of Barcelona that was filmed. For those of you that do not know yet Barcelona or in case you have not been able to discover by yourselves the location of some shots, here they are in order of appearance: BARCELONA KALEIDOLAPSE: Desde que vimos la aplicación del efecto caleidoscópico en los timelapses, sentimos la necesidad de jugar con esta técnica. If you aren't religious or you don't believe that Jesus was Christ, then it wouldn't make much sense for you to use BC or AD. So, people have started using BCE or CE to be respectful of people who aren't Christians.

In your video about different crosses, you used the terms BCE/CE instead of BC/AD. To me, talking about history in terms of a "Common Era" assumes that the age in which we live is fundamentally no different than any other era. It's just a way to talk about historical dates. But as Christians, we believe that God actually entered history, which does make the era in which we live, the "year of our Lord," fundamentally different. So, isn't the use of BC/AD a powerful way to acknowledge and affirm our belief that human history is relative to Christ's presence in it?

I recall the first time I encountered the modern awfulness that is the terminology 'C.E.' and 'B.C.E.' - it was in a museum in Europe. Here I present my solution to the non-problem.
I spent a day making this video, and then didn't like the result. For one thing, it was too long and rambling at four and a half minutes, so the next day I remade it, and I've now managed to cut it down to eight and half minutes.

Since we saw the implementation of this time-lapse kaleidoscopic effect, we felt the need to play with this technique.
We wanted this Kaleidolapse to have a common link in all its images so we dove on our hard drives to look for the time-lapses we've been doing in the city of Barcelona during the last 4 years.
We selected those images that we thought that could work better with this technique and we chose the music: a great hit of the New York American Dollar “Signaling Through The Flames”. We were then ready to start playing with the kaleidoscopic effect.
There were endless possibilities so we got carried away by the inspiration of the moment and the music.
We set a single mandatory criterion: at some point in every shot anyone should be able to identify the site of Barcelona that was filmed.
For those of you that do not know yet Barcelona or in case you have not been able to discover by yourselves the location of some shots, here they are in order of appearance:

Desde que vimos la aplicación del efecto caleidoscópico en los timelapses, sentimos la necesidad de jugar con esta técnica.
Queríamos que este Kaleidolapse tuviese un nexo común en todas sus imágenes por lo que recuperamos de nuestros discos duros los timelapses que hemos ido realizando en la ciudad de Barcelona en los últimos 4 años.
Tras una selección de los que considerábamos que podrían funcionar mejor con esta técnica y la elección de la música, el gran tema de la banda de New York American Dollar “Signaling Through The Flames” ya estabamos en disposición de comenzar a jugar con los efectos caleidoscópicos.
Las posibilidades eran infinitas con lo que nos dejamos llevar por la inspiración del momento y de la música.
Nos marcamos un único criterio obligatorio, que era el que en algún momento de cada toma pudiese distinguirse en que sitio de Barcelona estaba filmado el timelapse.

Skeamo is a project of Jorge Sierra, a sensitive person which music permeates the atmosphere with emotions. This multidisciplinary artist, owner of Eclectik Recording, has performed works for movies, theater, commercials and dance, among others. Also highlight his role as visual artist performing the videoclips of most of his own works, proving to have a total creative control of his musical universe. Proof of this is [Miga_v19] "Angel A", which complements this release.
Under a band concept and several collaborations, Skeamo presents [Miga43] "eRA", 5 intimate songs where styles such as downtempo, jazz, glitch and trip hop converge. In this release you will find evocative soundscapes where the piano and female voices are the main characters. A trip into the personal universe of Jorge Sierra that becomes into dreams.

The music you will find in "eRA" is an artist’s diary. It is the closing chapter of (isola) Jorge Sierra’s path, a journey through the last 12 years of this musician and producer, a continuous, obsessive and passionate search, anxious to find and materialize the sound landscapes of his deepest secrets. Like a phoenix of intangible time, his eternal reincarnation has turned to life as the prelude of an eternal trip. A random selection of five songs chosen by the uncertain will of the present times.
Skeamo brings together artists from different races, cultures and paths but with a common point of view: the courage of expressing their naked souls. Globalizing dreams... he continues his path along with them.

In your video about different crosses, you used the terms BCE/CE instead of BC/AD. To me, talking about history in terms of a "Common Era" assumes that the age in which we live is fundamentally no different than any other era. It's just a way to talk about historical dates. But as Christians, we believe that God actually entered history, which does make the era in which we live, the "year of our Lord," fundamentally different. So, isn't the use of BC/AD a powerful way to acknowledge and affirm our belief that human history is relative to Christ's presence in it?

I recall the first time I encountered the modern awfulness that is the terminology 'C.E.' and 'B.C.E.' - it was in a museum in Europe. Here I present my solution to the non-problem.
I spent a day making this video, and then didn't like the result. For one thing, it was too long and rambling at four and a half minutes, so the next day I remade it, and I've now managed to cut it down to eight and half minutes.

Kaleidolapse is a visual technique that applies a kaleidoscopic effect to different shots taken with time-lapse technique.
This effect generates multiple moving images that are symmetrically multiplied which gives them an abstract look with a great richness of shapes and colors.
The music together with the movement rhythm of the images will set the character we want to give to the video.
KALEIDOLAPSE:
Es una técnica audiovisual consistente en aplicar un efecto caleidoscópico a distintas tomas realizadas con la técnica del timelapse.
Con la aplicación de este efecto se generan imágenes en movimiento multiplicadas simétricamente, lo que confiere a las mismas un aspecto abstracto con una gran riqueza de formas y colores.
La música y el ritmo del movimiento de las imágenes acabaran de configurar el carácter que se le quiera dar al video final.

Since we saw the implementation of this time-lapse kaleidoscopic effect, we felt the need to play with this technique.
We wanted this Kaleidolapse to have a common link in all its images so we dove on our hard drives to look for the time-lapses we've been doing in the city of Barcelona during the last 4 years.
We selected those images that we thought that could work better with this technique and we chose the music: a great hit of the New York American Dollar “Signaling Through The Flames”. We were then ready to start playing with the kaleidoscopic effect.
There were endless possibilities so we got carried away by the inspiration of the moment and the music.
We set a single mandatory criterion: at some point in every shot anyone should be able to identify the site of Barcelona that was filmed.
For those of you that do not know yet Barcelona or in case you have not been able to discover by yourselves the location of some shots, here they are in order of appearance:

Desde que vimos la aplicación del efecto caleidoscópico en los timelapses, sentimos la necesidad de jugar con esta técnica.
Queríamos que este Kaleidolapse tuviese un nexo común en todas sus imágenes por lo que recuperamos de nuestros discos duros los timelapses que hemos ido realizando en la ciudad de Barcelona en los últimos 4 años.
Tras una selección de los que considerábamos que podrían funcionar mejor con esta técnica y la elección de la música, el gran tema de la banda de New York American Dollar “Signaling Through The Flames” ya estabamos en disposición de comenzar a jugar con los efectos caleidoscópicos.
Las posibilidades eran infinitas con lo que nos dejamos llevar por la inspiración del momento y de la música.
Nos marcamos un único criterio obligatorio, que era el que en algún momento de cada toma pudiese distinguirse en que sitio de Barcelona estaba filmado el timelapse.

Skeamo is a project of Jorge Sierra, a sensitive person which music permeates the atmosphere with emotions. This multidisciplinary artist, owner of Eclectik Recording, has performed works for movies, theater, commercials and dance, among others. Also highlight his role as visual artist performing the videoclips of most of his own works, proving to have a total creative control of his musical universe. Proof of this is [Miga_v19] "Angel A", which complements this release.
Under a band concept and several collaborations, Skeamo presents [Miga43] "eRA", 5 intimate songs where styles such as downtempo, jazz, glitch and trip hop converge. In this release you will find evocative soundscapes where the piano and female voices are the main characters. A trip into the personal universe of Jorge Sierra that becomes into dreams.

The music you will find in "eRA" is an artist’s diary. It is the closing chapter of (isola) Jorge Sierra’s path, a journey through the last 12 years of this musician and producer, a continuous, obsessive and passionate search, anxious to find and materialize the sound landscapes of his deepest secrets. Like a phoenix of intangible time, his eternal reincarnation has turned to life as the prelude of an eternal trip. A random selection of five songs chosen by the uncertain will of the present times.
Skeamo brings together artists from different races, cultures and paths but with a common point of view: the courage of expressing their naked souls. Globalizing dreams... he continues his path along with them.
