Music Artist Programs

Musicians Institute’s Music Artist Programs are a unique combination of contemporary music performance and rigorous education in traditional music disciplines. Performance programs include five major instruments of study: Bass, DJ, Drum, Guitar, Keyboard and Vocal.

Musicians Institutes Production Programs prepare graduates for careers in today’s music industry by providing in-depth training in essential techniques as well as hands-on experience in state of the art facilities. Production programs include: Audio Engineering, Independent Artist and Music Composition for Visual Media.

WORLD CLASS FACULTY

Francis Buckley

Grammy Award-winning engineer & producer Francis Buckley has worked on many gold and platinum-selling recordings with artists ranging from Black Flag and Aerosmith to Quincy Jones, Celine Dion and Alanis Morissette. He won the Grammy for Best Engineered Album for “Q’s Jook Joint” by Quincy Jones, and also contributed to Morissette’s 1995 Album of the Year, Jagged Little Pill.

At MI, he teaches courses in Mixing and Mastering, Console Operation, and Signal Processing.

Scott Henderson

World-renowned fusion guitarist Scott Henderson studied arranging and composition at Florida Atlantic University. After graduating from Musicians Institute, he toured and recorded with Bassist Jeff Berlin, Jean-Luc Ponty, Chick Corea, and Weather Report’s Joe Zawinul. In 1985, Scott joined up with Bassist Gary Willis and together they have released eight albums with the critically acclaimed instrumental group Tribal Tech.

Scott’s extended Open Counseling Sessions are some of MI’s most popular.

Dave Isaac

3 time Grammy Award-winning Producer and Mix Engineer Dave Isaac teaches our Music Production course. Dave has worked with such notable artists as Bruno Mars, Prince, The New Power Generation, Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Marcus Miller, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Madonna, and Stevie Wonder to name a few. He has worked in the Film & Television industry, on films that include Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, Chris Rock, Bernie Mac, Samuel L. Jackson, Matthew Perry, and The Wayans Brothers (Damon, Marlon, and Keenan-Ivory).

Dave has been involved over the years in software and preset development for such companies as Universal Audio, Softube, Native Instruments, Brainworx, Sonnox, Scarbee, Akai, Kurzweil, and Ensoniq. He speaks around the world at various universities and industry events such as NAMM, AES, and ASCAP.
Dave has recently been submitted and accepted into the process of receiving an Honorary Degree in Music from Wayne State University for his Music, Film and Television achievements. He was also nominated for The Grammy Music Educator Award process for teaching in 2015 and 2016.

Gorden Campbell

Gorden Campbell has worked with a wide variety of artist including, Earth, Wind & Fire, George Duke, Neyo, American Idol Tour, Daughtry, Phillip Phillips, Jessica Simpson, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Whitney Houston, Gerald Albright, Eric Benet, Brandy, Rahsaan Patterson, Tyrese, Faith Evans, Lalah Hathaway & God’s Property to name a few…. He can also be heard on movie soundtracks such as: Dreamgirls, Be Cool, The Wiz & Semi-Pro.
