Opera /ˈɒprə/ (Italian: [ˈɔːpera]; English plural: operas; Italian plural: opere [ˈɔːpere]) is an art form in which singers and musicians perform a dramatic work combining text (libretto) and musical score, usually in a theatrical setting. In traditional opera, singers do two types of singing: recitative, a speech-inflected style and arias, a more melodic style. Opera incorporates many of the elements of spoken theatre, such as acting, scenery, and costumes and sometimes includes dance. The performance is typically given in an opera house, accompanied by an orchestra or smaller musical ensemble, which since the early 1800s has been led by a conductor.
Opera is part of the Western classical music tradition. It started in Italy at the end of the 16th century (with Jacopo Peri's lost Dafne, produced in Florence in 1598) and soon spread through the rest of Europe: Schütz in Germany, Lully in France, and Purcell in England all helped to establish their national traditions in the 17th century. In the 18th century, Italian opera continued to dominate most of Europe (except France), attracting foreign composers such as Handel. Opera seria was the most prestigious form of Italian opera, until Gluck reacted against its artificiality with his "reform" operas in the 1760s. Today the most renowned figure of late 18th century opera is Mozart, who began with opera seria but is most famous for his Italian comic operas, especially The Marriage of Figaro (Le Nozze Di Figaro), Don Giovanni, and Così fan tutte, as well as The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte), a landmark in the German tradition.

The Phantom is a long-running American adventure comic strip, first published by Mandrake the Magician creator Lee Falk in February 1936. The main character, the Phantom, is a fictional costumed crime-fighter who operates from the fictional African country of Bangalla. The character has been adapted for television, film and video games.
The series began with a daily newspaper strip on February 17, 1936, followed by a color Sunday strip on May 28, 1939; both are still running as of 2016. In 1966, King Features stated that The Phantom was being published in 583 newspapers worldwide. At its peak, the strip was read by over 100 million people daily.
Falk worked on The Phantom until his death in 1999; the comic strip is currently written by Tony DePaul and drawn by Paul Ryan (Monday-Saturday) and Terry Beatty (Sunday). Previous artists on the newspaper strip include Ray Moore, Wilson McCoy, Bill Lignante, Sy Barry, George Olesen, Keith Williams, Fred Fredericks, Graham Nolan and Eduardo Barreto. In the strip, the Phantom was 21st in a line of crime-fighters which began in 1536, when the father of British sailor Christopher Walker was killed during a pirate attack. Swearing an oath on the skull of his father's murderer to fight evil, Christopher began a legacy of the Phantom which would pass from father to son. Nicknames for the Phantom include "The Ghost Who Walks", "Guardian of the Eastern Dark" and "The Man Who Cannot Die".
The Phantom of the Opera (French: Le Fantôme de l'Opéra) is a novel by French writer Gaston Leroux. It was first published as a serialisation in Le Gaulois from September 23, 1909, to January 8, 1910. It was published in volume form in April 1910 by Pierre Lafitte. The novel is partly inspired by historical events at the Paris Opera during the nineteenth century and an apocryphal tale concerning the use of a former ballet pupil's skeleton in Carl Maria von Weber's 1841 production of Der Freischütz. Nowadays, it is overshadowed by the success of its various stage and film adaptations. The most notable of these are the 1925 film depiction featuring Lon Chaney and Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1986 musical.
Opera singer Christine triumphs at the gala on the night of the old managers' retirement. Her old childhood friend, Raoul, hears her sing and recalls his love for Christine. At this time, there are rumors of a phantom living at the Opera and he makes himself known to the managers through letters and malevolent acts. Some time after the gala, the Paris Opera performs Faust, with the prima donna Carlotta playing the lead, against the Phantom's wishes. During the performance, Carlotta loses her voice and the grand chandelier plummets into the audience.
High Notes is a studio album by American country music artist Hank Williams, Jr. It was released by Elektra/Curb Records in April 1982, making it Williams' eighth studio album for Elektra/Curb and his ninth overall for the label. While not as successful or acclaimed as some of Williams' more recent recordings, High Notes was still a commercial success. It peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and was certified Gold by the RIAA, becoming Williams' seventh album to do so. The album also generated two hit singles, "If Heaven Ain't a Lot Like Dixie" and "Honky Tonkin'". "If Heaven Ain't a Lot Like Dixie" peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart while "Honky Tonkin'", a song that was originally a number 14 hit written and performed by his father, Hank, Sr., became Hank, Jr.'s sixth Number One hit on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.

The soundtrack to Dario Argento's OPERA (1987) aka TERROR AT THE OPERA is a bit different from most of his other films. The score is comprised of various music by a variety of artists. Two tracks were done by Bill Wyman and Terry Taylor. They previously did a track for Argento's PHENOMENA (1985) aka CREEPERS. Here for OPERA they provide the MAIN THEME and another track called BLACK NOTES. This video contains these two tracks. This was created using the OpenShot video editor in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS The video was uploaded at 720p (1280x720) with 320kbps AAC audio. The audio was ripped from the CD release.

Here it is some difficult moments on stage by famous opera singers!! Because even the Greatest has bad days that made them even better!! 1. Carlo Bergonzi sings little off his final high note from "Celeste Aida" Live at La Scala in 1976. 2. Maria Callas's weak low note due to cold in her 1951 firenze "Vespri Sicciliani". 3. Giuseppe di Stefano almost screaming/loosing control in his final note in "Una furtiva Lagrima" Live in 1965 in Vienna. 4. Renata Scotto destroy the Cabaletta from Norma Live at the MET in 1981 and the audience screaming "boo!!" (Quite strange for the MET). 5. Placido Domingo "abbandones" his final high Note in his "Celeste Aida" at the MET in 1989. 6. Luciano Pavarotti has difficulties with his High Notes in Puritani at the MET in 1976!! A magnificent spectacle of stars, scenery and choreography, this version of Verdi's Aïda is remastered from Sam Wanamaker's landmark production. It features monumental performances by Luciano Pavarotti as Radames and Margaret Price in the title role. The tensions which arise from Radames' love for Aida, a slave who is the daughter of the Ethiopian chieftain, Amonasro, and the jealousy this provokes in the daughter in Amneris, daughter of the Egyptian king, are portrayed in some of Verdi's most famous music. 0:13:46 - “Se vuol ballare, signor contino, il chitarrino le suonerò”: It’s difficult to render into English the pun of the initial verses of this Cavatina: in Italian, the verb “suonare” (to play) can mean also “to beat somebody” (for example in the idiomatic expression “suonarle a qualcuno” , something like “to give someone a beating”). Besides, the word “chitarrino” (literally “little guitar”), it’s one of the ancient popular ways to say (and not to say)... the rear end. It follows that Figaro would gladly make the Count dance (or even caper) kicking his arse! At least a symbolic revenge of that “sacrilegious kick” Mozart had received up his backside from Count Arco, chief steward of the Archbishop of Salzburg, five years before, when he asked to took leave of his angry employer. Listening to Music (MUSI 112) This lecture focuses on opera and the operatic voice, from the Romantic period to the present. Professor Wright integrates a discussion of one of the most often-performed and famous operas in the Western canon, Verdi's La Traviata, with a discussion of vocal performance practice. For the latter, he uses recordings of singers from the early to late twentieth century as examples of different types of voices and the ways in which aesthetic values about the voice have changed throughout the past hundred years. 00:00 - Chapter 1.

When I try to remember the beginning
The whole thing comes like a dream
That don’t bring me laughs
And something might be reality
CHORUS
The nothing , the empty
Without light
Without a way
I still have regards
From what I’ve been but, who am I?
Prisoner of one life that
I don’t know the past
(CHORUS)
Due to scare of what I’ve been
Today I hide myself in darkness
Catching the few that rest
Waiting for the end of the line
(REPEAT)
When I’ll find what I think it’s real
To quench my thirsty for the truth
Finishing my sufferings and fears
Ahead of me like a thick haze
(CHORUS)
When I try to remember the beginning
The whole thing comes like a dream
That don’t bring me laughs
