Megyn Kelly’s NBC show continues to lag behind America’s Funniest Home Videos reruns

Suggesting that “America, this is you” is more enjoyable when attached to videos of people faceplanting into birthday cakes, rather than in-depth explorations into the mind of conspiracy theorist asshole Alex Jones, Megyn Kelly’s Sunday night NBC series continues to lag behind reruns of 60 Minutes and America’s Funniest Home Videos in the ratings. That’s per The Hill, which notes that Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly has lost fully half of the viewers it pulled in during its premiere episode last month (with an interview with Russian president Vladimir Putin), with only 3.1 million people tuning into the show’s broadcast last Sunday night.

NBC reportedly paid the former Fox News star $17 million to jump ship, an offer Kelly accepted despite an even larger offer to stay from Fox. In any case, NBC isn’t giving up on its fancy new acquisition just yet; Sunday Night will go on hiatus at the end of summer (making way for football), while Kelly will move to mornings, hosting an hour-long block of The Today Show at 9 a.m. (Here’s hoping she can take on her new competition, the combined ratings juggernaut of Charlie Rose and a YouTube stream of diving competition fails that you end up watching on your phone.)
