Hong Kong: it's a city for nature buffs too

It has been 20 years since I left Hong Kong, just days after the former British colony was handed over to China in 1997.
Like the night of the handover ceremony two decades ago, it is humid and raining as we pull up at the Peninsula Hotel in the back of a Rolls-Royce Phantom. Fortunately, an efficient woman dressed neatly in black is waiting with an umbrella and whisks me up to my room where I am served jasmine tea and distracted by the views over Victoria Harbour as she checks me in on her iPad.
