ARD is a joint organisation of Germany's regional public-service broadcasters. It was founded in 1950 in West Germany to represent the common interests of the new, decentralised, post-war broadcasting services – in particular the introduction of a joint television network.
The ARD is the world's largest public broadcaster, with a budget of €6.3 billion and 23,000 employees. The budget comes primarily from the licence fees every household, every company and even every public institution like city governments are required to pay. For an ordinary household the fee is currently €17.98 per month. Households living on welfare don't have to pay the fee. The fees are not collected directly by the ARD, but by the Beitragsservice, a common organization of the ARD member broadcasters, the second public TV broadcaster ZDF, and Deutschlandradio.

On the TV show, which aired on German state broadcaster ARD on March 5, Verheugen pointed out that Turkey was promised EU accession and that this promise has not been kept for 60 years.
"Last year, an agreement with Turkey was signed, which intended to accelerate EU accession negotiations. In return, Turkey is doing the dirty work for us and keeps refugees out of Germany and Europe, "Verheugen said.
"Our policy towards Turkey is dishonest. They have a decade-long promise, but all they hear is 'we don't want you' from France, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. Then we wonder why Turkey's reaction is like it is now," he added.
The German Minister of Justice Heiko Maas, left-wing delegate Sevim Dağdelen and Fugitive Can Dündar (Germany Agent) were also guests on the show, and they harshly criticized Turkey and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Dağdelen asked Maas for a general ban on Turkish politicians in Germany by giving the decisions of the Netherlands and Austria as examples.
Similarly on Monday, "Hart aber fair" a political talk show, also broadcast by ARD, discussed the German government's stance on Turkey, recent bans on rallies by Turkish ministers as well as Turkey's rage against double standards in European countries.
Regarding the bans on ministers, the vice chair of the Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) Fatih Zingal pointed out that the German government in a way exuded hypocrisy by allowing a pro-PKK HDP deputy, Tuğba Hezer Öztürk who had participated in PKK-terrorists' funerals, to hold a "no" campaign in the country.
German-Turkish relations have been strained over the past few weeks, after a planned and previously announced meeting of Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ with Turkish citizens in the German state of Baden-Württemberg was cancelled only a few hours before the event due to alleged security reasons.
German media reported that numerous German politicians demanded to prevent the appearance of Bozdağ as well as other Turkish ministers beforehand.
In response to the ban on his meeting, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ canceled his entire trip to Germany, where a meeting with his German counterpart Heiko Maas was also planned.
Bozdağ was not the only Turkish minister whose program was canceled by German authorities. An official from the city of Cologne said a March 5 event, where Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi was to hold a rally through the Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) was also canceled.
Following the incident, the Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned German Ambassador to Ankara Martin Erdmann, and he was received by the deputy secretary responsible for European affairs, Mehmet Kemal Bozay.
Turkey's written demarche was also delivered to Erdmann.

"Last year, an agreement with Turkey was signed, which intended to accelerate EU accession negotiations. In return, Turkey is doing the dirty work for us and keeps refugees out of Germany and Europe, "Verheugen said.
"Our policy towards Turkey is dishonest. They have a decade-long promise, but all they hear is 'we don't want you' from France, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. Then we wonder why Turkey's reaction is like it is now," he added.
The German Minister of Justice Heiko Maas, left-wing delegate Sevim Dağdelen and Fugitive Can Dündar (Germany Agent) were also guests on the show, and they harshly criticized Turkey and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Dağdelen asked Maas for a general ban on Turkish politicians in Germany by giving the decisions of the Netherlands and Austria as examples.
Similarly on Monday, "Hart aber fair" a political talk show, also broadcast by ARD, discussed the German government's stance on Turkey, recent bans on rallies by Turkish ministers as well as Turkey's rage against double standards in European countries.
Regarding the bans on ministers, the vice chair of the Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) Fatih Zingal pointed out that the German government in a way exuded hypocrisy by allowing a pro-PKK HDP deputy, Tuğba Hezer Öztürk who had participated in PKK-terrorists' funerals, to hold a "no" campaign in the country.
German-Turkish relations have been strained over the past few weeks, after a planned and previously announced meeting of Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ with Turkish citizens in the German state of Baden-Württemberg was cancelled only a few hours before the event due to alleged security reasons.
German media reported that numerous German politicians demanded to prevent the appearance of Bozdağ as well as other Turkish ministers beforehand.
In response to the ban on his meeting, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ canceled his entire trip to Germany, where a meeting with his German counterpart Heiko Maas was also planned.
Bozdağ was not the only Turkish minister whose program was canceled by German authorities. An official from the city of Cologne said a March 5 event, where Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi was to hold a rally through the Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) was also canceled.
Following the incident, the Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned German Ambassador to Ankara Martin Erdmann, and he was received by the deputy secretary responsible for European affairs, Mehmet Kemal Bozay.
Turkey's written demarche was also delivered to Erdmann.

The theme of the newscast is an attack on Pamela Geller's bus-banner campaign in Washington D.C., which features the collaboration of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Amin al-Husseini, with Adolf Hitler in 1941. What is more striking, however, is the broadcaster's hostility toward freedom of speech generally and the American First Amendment in particular.

The network increasingly popular is the action #GermanDeathCamps. Internet users in response to a ZDF - probably designed to niewyeksponowanie apology to former Auschwitz prisoner - publish graphics showing the truth about the German concentration camps. German television ZDF lost the process and had to apologize to the former Auschwitz prisoner Charles Tender for using disgraceful phrase "Polish death camps". The apology had a month to be placed on the home page of the German broadcaster. The apology came at the bottom of the "Doku / Wissen". It stressed that "action has to be loud and effective and not offensive!" Uncle Otto the 1960s TV novelty from Germany on WA television
On one of TVW Sales and Production Manager Brian Treasure's many trips overseas, he encountered a mascot featured on the public broadcaster for the German state (Bundesland) of Hesse. This humorous animated seal was known as Onkel Otto ("Uncle Otto") and was broadcast by the Hessian Broadcasting Company, or "Hessische Rundfunk". Uncle Otto was the creation of the famed German animator Hans Fischerkoesen, also known as Hans Fischerkösen or Hans Fischer, (18 May 1896 - 23 April 1973). The brief Otto clips related to the previous commercial shown, such as a coffee, ice cream, car, alcohol or cigarette advertisement. On one of TVW Sales and Production Manager Brian Treasure's many trips overseas, he encountered a mascot featured on the public broadcaster for the German state (Bundesland) of Hesse. This humorous animated seal was known as Onkel Otto ("Uncle Otto") and was broadcast by the Hessian Broadcasting Company, or "Hessische Rundfunk".
Uncle Otto was the creation of the famed German animator Hans Fischerkoesen, also known as Hans Fischerkösen or Hans Fischer, (18 May 1896 - 23 April 1973).
The brief Otto clips related to the previous commercial shown, such as a coffee, ice cream, car, alcohol or cigarette advertisement. The longer clips were musically accompanied by the tune "Holiday Party" by Roger Roger.
TVW Channel 7 in Perth used these comedic clips in each commercial break during the early to mid 1960s.

Telefunken color tv set from 1967 with ARD color logo
This video shows a Telefunken color tv set, the PALcromat, made in 1967. It was one the first PAL color tv sets in Europe. The tv set is fully restored and after more than forty years still in working condition. The tv set displays the beginning of the first PAL color tv broadcast, aired on August 26th, 1967 with the ARD "in farbe" color presentation logo of the 1960's.

This video shows the SABA T2000 color tv set with 27 tubes, made in 1967. It was one of the first PAL color tv sets in Europe. The tv set is fully restored and after more than forty years still in working condition. The tv set displays the start of German color television on the international radio exhibition Berlin 1967. The German secretary of state, Willy Brandt, pushed the red button with which color should switched on. But a technician in the studio switched color on some seconds before Brandt pushes the button.

On the TV show, which aired on German state broadcaster ARD on March 5, Verheugen pointed out that Turkey was promised EU accession and that this promise has not been kept for 60 years.
"Last year, an agreement with Turkey was signed, which intended to accelerate EU accession negotiations. In return, Turkey is doing the dirty work for us and keeps refugees out of Germany and Europe, "Verheugen said.
"Our policy towards Turkey is dishonest. They have a decade-long promise, but all they hear is 'we don't want you' from France, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. Then we wonder why Turkey's reaction is like it is now," he added.
The German Minister of Justice Heiko Maas, left-wing delegate Sevim Dağdelen and Fugitive Can Dündar (Germany Agent) were also guests on the show, and they harshly criticized Turkey and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Dağdelen asked Maas for a general ban on Turkish politicians in Germany by giving the decisions of the Netherlands and Austria as examples.
Similarly on Monday, "Hart aber fair" a political talk show, also broadcast by ARD, discussed the German government's stance on Turkey, recent bans on rallies by Turkish ministers as well as Turkey's rage against double standards in European countries.
Regarding the bans on ministers, the vice chair of the Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) Fatih Zingal pointed out that the German government in a way exuded hypocrisy by allowing a pro-PKK HDP deputy, Tuğba Hezer Öztürk who had participated in PKK-terrorists' funerals, to hold a "no" campaign in the country.
German-Turkish relations have been strained over the past few weeks, after a planned and previously announced meeting of Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ with Turkish citizens in the German state of Baden-Württemberg was cancelled only a few hours before the event due to alleged security reasons.
German media reported that numerous German politicians demanded to prevent the appearance of Bozdağ as well as other Turkish ministers beforehand.
In response to the ban on his meeting, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ canceled his entire trip to Germany, where a meeting with his German counterpart Heiko Maas was also planned.
Bozdağ was not the only Turkish minister whose program was canceled by German authorities. An official from the city of Cologne said a March 5 event, where Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi was to hold a rally through the Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) was also canceled.
Following the incident, the Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned German Ambassador to Ankara Martin Erdmann, and he was received by the deputy secretary responsible for European affairs, Mehmet Kemal Bozay.
Turkey's written demarche was also delivered to Erdmann.

The tv set displays the beginning of the first PAL color tv broadcast, aired on August 26th, 1967 with the ARD "in farbe" color presentation logo of the 1960's.

The tv set displays the start of German color television on the international radio exhibition Berlin 1967. The German secretary of state, Willy Brandt, pushed the red button with which color should switched on. But a technician in the studio switched color on some seconds before Brandt pushes the button.
