“In two states in the country, minimum-wage earners have to work more than 100 hours a week to earn a decent living.
In Virginia and Hawaii, minimum-wage workers need to work 103.2 and 110.7 hours, respectively, to make a living wage, according to a report released Tuesday by Alliance for a Just Society, a coalition of progressive organizations focused on economic justice. The report, which defines a living wage as earning enough money to afford expenses like housing, utilities, child care as well as savings, found that overall Americans have to work 93.1 hours a week at the minimum wage to earn a living wage. Americans have to earn $16.97 on average to make a living wage, the report found. It also details the living wage in each state.
The gulf between the wage floor and what it takes to get by is so wide across the country in large part because the minimum wage hasn’t kept up with inflation over the past several years -- the federal minimum wage at $7.25 an hour is worth less than the 1968 minimum wage in today’s dollars -- while the cost of living continues to grow. Child care costs in particular have skyrocketed over the past few decades. And as more families turn to rental housing, demand for those units has shot up and brought prices soaring along with it.”

Progressive politicians love to talk about raising the minimum wage.
It makes them sound caring, compassionate, concerned. They’re on the side of the worker, standing against the greedy employer.
The current call is for a national $15-an-hour minimum wage – more than double the current federal rate of $7.25.
A number of cities and states are already there – including New York, California, Washington D.C. and Seattle. Others are considering it.
The left casts the minimum wage debate as a war between employee and employer. But most business owners pay their workers as much as they can. Finding and keeping good people is the hardest part of any employer’s job.
I know. For 17 years, I ran CKE restaurants, the parent company for Carl’s Jr. and Hardees. Our company and franchised restaurants employed over 75,000 people, but, as with most retail businesses, our profit margins were razor thin.
Based on my experience, if we adopt a national minimum wage of $15, here’s what will happen:
1. A lot of people will lose their jobs or have their hours reduced. According to a 2014 Congressional Budget Office study, just a $10 minimum wage would cost half a million jobs as businesses terminate employees. Obviously, far more jobs would be lost at $15 an hour. To survive, employers would have to reduce hours even for workers who manage to keep their jobs. That’s a pay cut.
2. Businesses will close, and the jobs they created will disappear. A recent report from researchers at the Harvard Business School found that each $1 increase in the minimum wage results in a 4-10% increase in the likelihood of restaurants closing. An over $7 an hour increase, to $15, would be devastating not only for restaurants, but for small businesses and their employees.
3. Young people will lose that entry-level job opportunity. My first job was scooping ice cream at a Baskin-Robbins in Cleveland, Ohio in the 1960s. I was paid just $1 an hour. But it taught me valuable lessons – like the importance of showing up on time, teamwork, and presenting a happy demeanor to customers. No one can get that better job until they have their first job.
4. The cost of all workers will have to go up. If you hire a dishwasher at $15 an hour, your cooks will be unhappy with their wages. You’re going to have to pay everybody more, which increases labor costs across the board. That’s more pressure on profits. Too much pressure and you’re out of business.
5. Fewer people will open businesses. $15 an hour is a very steep hill to climb. Would-be entrepreneurs will do the math on labor costs and realize it’s just not worth the risk. This is a real cost to the economy that we can’t measure. A company that never exists never employs anyone.
6. Prices for everything will go up as businesses pass higher labor costs along to consumers. One of two things will happen: Either consumers won’t pay the higher prices and businesses will lay off workers or close, or consumers will pay higher prices and have less money to spend elsewhere. Either way, the higher minimum wage will represent a drag on the overall economy.

Irish workers earn about USD8.46 every hour for working a maximum of 39 hours every week.That's USD22490 annually.That's definitely not a bad thing!
#3.Belgium:
Belgium pays USD8.57 so that's about USD23104 annually for a 38-hour work week.That's the lowest legal workers can get and they are entitled to social benifits a few year after they start working.
#2.Luxembourg:
Luxembourg pays its legal workers at USD9.24 per hour,that's about USD2468 in a 40-hour week.If you do the math,you get around USD30,000 annually.The country really is a prominent financial center!
#1.Australia:
At USD9.54 per hour, the people down under gets the highest minimum wage which adds up to USD34,358 annually in a 38-hour work per week.No wonder many immigrants prefer heading to this country than any other.

People don't like to think that anyone's labor is worth less than the minimum wage. Someone might end up flipping burgers for $5.00 an hour. You might think the minimum wage is a way of paying some sort of dignity premium -- hence language like "living wage." People with such good intentions look at the direct beneficiaries of these policies, say, burger flippers now making $7.50 an hour. They pat themselves on the back. But they rarely count the invisible costs: willing human beings who never get hired in the first place.
But $5.00 an hour is not enough to live on!, they'll say. For whom? A teenager living at home with his parents? An elderly person who wants simply to stay active? A single mom with three kids? A single woman sharing an apartment with 2 roommates? Of course, not all of these people could live off of $5 an hour. But some of them could given the opportunity. Concerns about those who couldn't don't justify minimum wages even if we ignored the invisible costs of the policy, which include reduced margins to businesses that might otherwise grow (and hire more people).
In other words, if you pull take off the bottom two rungs of the income ladder, many will never climb it. That's the effect of the minimum wage.

The minimum wage for next year here in Korea has been finalized. It's up more than seven percent from this year... but experts note that doesn't necessarily mean better living standards for wage workers.
Kim Min-ji reports.
Six-thousand-four-hundred-70 won -- or roughly five U.S. dollars and 80 cents.
That's the minimum wage in Korea starting next year.
It means workers will earn about 46 dollars a day,... or 12-hundred dollars a month,... if they work eight hours daily.
Since President Park Geun-hye took office in 2013,... the minimum wage has been on a steady rise,... but next year's figure slowed from the eight percent hike for this year.
Despite an uptick,... Korea's minimum wage level sits in the lower end of the ladder.
Korea's minimum wage stood at 5 dollars and 40 cents for 2015,... while the OECD average was 6 dollars and 60 cents.
The highest was Luxembourg,... followed by Australia and France.
Still, Korea's hike in minimum wage has been one of the fastest growing.
Neighboring Japan, for one, recently decided on a hike of three percent.
However, the increase hasn't necessarily translated into better living conditions for Korean wage earners.
"The minimum wage is supposed to equal the minimum amount of money required to make ends meet. However, the set wage for Korea is not enough. On top of that, the government's social wages is not even a third of the OECD average. That's why companies have to push up the wages -- resulting in bigger hikes than other countries."
But this, at the same time, is a double edged sword.
Sharp increases puts more burden on smaller firms and self-employed business people -- as they would face higher labor costs that could lead to hiring fewer new employees.
Experts say the government needs to step up welfare expenses,... and come up with a system of different wages that matches the characteristics of each region and type of job.

A wage is monetary compensation (or remuneration, personnel expenses, labor) paid by an employer to an employee in exchange for work done. You might think the minimum wage is a way of paying some sort of dignity premium -- hence language like "living wage." People with such good intentions look at the direct beneficiaries of these policies, say, burger flippers now making $7.50 an hour. They pat themselves on the back. But they rarely count the invisible costs: willing human beings who never get hired in the first place. But $5.00 an hour is not enough to live on!, they'll say. For whom? A teenager living at home with his parents? An elderly person who wants simply to stay active? A single mom with three kids? A single woman sharing an apartment with 2 roommates? Of course, not all of these people could live off of $5 an hour. But some of them could given the opportunity. Concerns about those who couldn't don't justify minimum wages even if we ignored the invisible costs of the policy, which include reduced margins to businesses that might otherwise grow (and hire more people). In other words, if you pull take off the bottom two rungs of the income ladder, many will never climb it. That's the effect of the minimum wage. -

It's up more than seven percent from this year... but experts note that doesn't necessarily mean better living standards for wage workers. Kim Min-ji reports. Six-thousand-four-hundred-70 won -- or roughly five U.S. dollars and 80 cents. That's the minimum wage in Korea starting next year. It means workers will earn about 46 dollars a day,... or 12-hundred dollars a month,... if they work eight hours daily. Since President Park Geun-hye took office in 2013,... the minimum wage has been on a steady rise,... but next year's figure slowed from the eight percent hike for this year. Despite an uptick,... Korea's minimum wage level sits in the lower end of the ladder. Korea's minimum wage stood at 5 dollars and 40 cents for 2015,... while the OECD average was 6 dollars and 60 cents. The highest was Luxembourg,... followed by Australia and France. Still, Korea's hike in minimum wage has been one of the fastest growing. Neighboring Japan, for one, recently decided on a hike of three percent. However, the increase hasn't necessarily translated into better living conditions for Korean wage earners. "The minimum wage is supposed to equal the minimum amount of money required to make ends meet. However, the set wage for Korea is not enough. On top of that, the government's social wages is not even a third of the OECD average. That's why companies have to push up the wages -- resulting in bigger hikes than other countries." But this, at the same time, is a double edged sword. Sharp increases puts more burden on smaller firms and self-employed business people -- as they would face higher labor costs that could lead to hiring fewer new employees. Experts say the government needs to step up welfare expenses,... and come up with a system of different wages that matches the characteristics of each region and type of job. That sting is that breaches of the Act are criminal offences which are punishable with hefty fines and/or prison sentences. The National Minimum Wage Act, 2000 provides for a minimum hourly rate of pay. That minimum wage, since July 2011, is €8.65 per hour for an experienced adult worker. An experience adult worker, for the purposes of the Act, is an employee who is not: (i) under age 18 or (ii) in the first two years after the date of first employment over age 18, or (iii) a trainee undergoing a course that satisfies the conditions set out in S.I. No. 99 of 2000. All employees, including full time, part time, casual, and temporary are covered by the act with the exception of -Close relatives of the employer -Certain apprentices. “In two states in the country, minimum-wage earners have to work more than 100 hours a week to earn a decent living.
In Virginia and Hawaii, minimum-wage workers need to work 103.2 and 110.7 hours, respectively, to make a living wage, according to a report released Tuesday by Alliance for a Just Society, a coalition of progressive organizations focused on economic justice. The report, which defines a living wage as earning enough money to afford expenses like housing, utilities, child care as well as savings, found that overall Americans have to work 93.1 hours a week at the minimum wage to earn a living wage. Americans have to earn $16.97 on average to make a living wage, the report found. It also details the living wage in each state.
The gulf between the wage floor and what it takes to get by is so wide across the country in large part because the minimum wage hasn’t kept up with inflation over the past several years -- the federal minimum wage at $7.25 an hour is worth less than the 1968 minimum wage in today’s dollars -- while the cost of living continues to grow. Child care costs in particular have skyrocketed over the past few decades. And as more families turn to rental housing, demand for those units has shot up and brought prices soaring along with it.”

Progressive politicians love to talk about raising the minimum wage.
It makes them sound caring, compassionate, concerned. They’re on the side of the worker, standing against the greedy employer.
The current call is for a national $15-an-hour minimum wage – more than double the current federal rate of $7.25.
A number of cities and states are already there – including New York, California, Washington D.C. and Seattle. Others are considering it.
The left casts the minimum wage debate as a war between employee and employer. But most business owners pay their workers as much as they can. Finding and keeping good people is the hardest part of any employer’s job.
I know. For 17 years, I ran CKE restaurants, the parent company for Carl’s Jr. and Hardees. Our company and franchised restaurants employed over 75,000 people, but, as with most retail businesses, our profit margins were razor thin.
Based on my experience, if we adopt a national minimum wage of $15, here’s what will happen:
1. A lot of people will lose their jobs or have their hours reduced. According to a 2014 Congressional Budget Office study, just a $10 minimum wage would cost half a million jobs as businesses terminate employees. Obviously, far more jobs would be lost at $15 an hour. To survive, employers would have to reduce hours even for workers who manage to keep their jobs. That’s a pay cut.
2. Businesses will close, and the jobs they created will disappear. A recent report from researchers at the Harvard Business School found that each $1 increase in the minimum wage results in a 4-10% increase in the likelihood of restaurants closing. An over $7 an hour increase, to $15, would be devastating not only for restaurants, but for small businesses and their employees.
3. Young people will lose that entry-level job opportunity. My first job was scooping ice cream at a Baskin-Robbins in Cleveland, Ohio in the 1960s. I was paid just $1 an hour. But it taught me valuable lessons – like the importance of showing up on time, teamwork, and presenting a happy demeanor to customers. No one can get that better job until they have their first job.
4. The cost of all workers will have to go up. If you hire a dishwasher at $15 an hour, your cooks will be unhappy with their wages. You’re going to have to pay everybody more, which increases labor costs across the board. That’s more pressure on profits. Too much pressure and you’re out of business.
5. Fewer people will open businesses. $15 an hour is a very steep hill to climb. Would-be entrepreneurs will do the math on labor costs and realize it’s just not worth the risk. This is a real cost to the economy that we can’t measure. A company that never exists never employs anyone.
6. Prices for everything will go up as businesses pass higher labor costs along to consumers. One of two things will happen: Either consumers won’t pay the higher prices and businesses will lay off workers or close, or consumers will pay higher prices and have less money to spend elsewhere. Either way, the higher minimum wage will represent a drag on the overall economy.

People don't like to think that anyone's labor is worth less than the minimum wage. Someone might end up flipping burgers for $5.00 an hour. You might think the minimum wage is a way of paying some sort of dignity premium -- hence language like "living wage." People with such good intentions look at the direct beneficiaries of these policies, say, burger flippers now making $7.50 an hour. They pat themselves on the back. But they rarely count the invisible costs: willing human beings who never get hired in the first place.
But $5.00 an hour is not enough to live on!, they'll say. For whom? A teenager living at home with his parents? An elderly person who wants simply to stay active? A single mom with three kids? A single woman sharing an apartment with 2 roommates? Of course, not all of these people could live off of $5 an hour. But some of them could given the opportunity. Concerns about those who couldn't don't justify minimum wages even if we ignored the invisible costs of the policy, which include reduced margins to businesses that might otherwise grow (and hire more people).
In other words, if you pull take off the bottom two rungs of the income ladder, many will never climb it. That's the effect of the minimum wage.

Six-thousand-four-hundred-70 won -- or roughly five U.S. dollars and 80 cents.
That's the minimum wage in Korea starting next year.
It means workers will earn about 46 dollars a day,... or 12-hundred dollars a month,... if they work eight hours daily.
Since President Park Geun-hye took office in 2013,... the minimum wage has been on a steady rise,... but next year's figure slowed from the eight percent hike for this year.

The highest was Luxembourg,... followed by Australia and France.
Still, Korea's hike in minimum wage has been one of the fastest growing.
Neighboring Japan, for one, recently decided on a hike of three percent.
However, the increase hasn't necessarily translated into better living conditions for Korean wage earners.
"The minimum wage is supposed to equal the minimum amount of money required to make ends meet. However, the set wage for Korea is not enough. On top of that, the government's social wages is not even a third of the OECD average. That's why companies have to push up the wages -- resulting in bigger hikes than other countries."
But this, at the same time, is a double edged sword.
Sharp increases puts more burden on smaller firms and self-employed business people -- as they would face higher labor costs that could lead to hiring fewer new employees.
Experts say the government needs to step up welfare expenses,... and come up with a system of different wages that matches the characteristics of each region and type of job.

The minimum wage for next year here in Korea has been finalized. It's up more than seven percent from this year... but experts note that doesn't necessarily mean better living standards for wage workers.

Six-thousand-four-hundred-70 won -- or roughly five U.S. dollars and 80 cents.
That's the minimum wage in Korea starting next year.
It means workers will earn about 46 dollars a day,... or 12-hundred dollars a month,... if they work eight hours daily.
Since President Park Geun-hye took office in 2013,... the minimum wage has been on a steady rise,... but next year's figure slowed from the eight percent hike for this year.

Progressive politicians love to talk about raising the minimum wage.
It makes them sound caring, compassionate, concerned. They’re on the side of the worker, standing against the greedy employer.
The current call is for a national $15-an-hour minimum wage – more than double the current federal rate of $7.25.
A number of cities and states are already there – including New York, California, Washington D.C. and Seattle. Others are considering it.
The left casts the minimum wage debate as a war between employee and employer. But most business owners pay their workers as much as they can. Finding and keeping good people is the hardest part of any employer’s job.
I know. For 17 years, I ran CKE restaurants, the parent company for Carl’s Jr. and Hardees. Our company and franchised restaurants employed over 75,000 people, but, as with most retail businesses, our profit margins were razor thin.
Based on my experience, if we adopt a national minimum wage of $15, here’s what will happen:
1. A lot of people will lose their jobs or have their hours reduced. According to a 2014 Congressional Budget Office study, just a $10 minimum wage would cost half a million jobs as businesses terminate employees. Obviously, far more jobs would be lost at $15 an hour. To survive, employers would have to reduce hours even for workers who manage to keep their jobs. That’s a pay cut.
2. Businesses will close, and the jobs they created will disappear. A recent report from researchers at the Harvard Business School found that each $1 increase in the minimum wage results in a 4-10% increase in the likelihood of restaurants closing. An over $7 an hour increase, to $15, would be devastating not only for restaurants, but for small businesses and their employees.
3. Young people will lose that entry-level job opportunity. My first job was scooping ice cream at a Baskin-Robbins in Cleveland, Ohio in the 1960s. I was paid just $1 an hour. But it taught me valuable lessons – like the importance of showing up on time, teamwork, and presenting a happy demeanor to customers. No one can get that better job until they have their first job.
4. The cost of all workers will have to go up. If you hire a dishwasher at $15 an hour, your cooks will be unhappy with their wages. You’re going to have to pay everybody more, which increases labor costs across the board. That’s more pressure on profits. Too much pressure and you’re out of business.
5. Fewer people will open businesses. $15 an hour is a very steep hill to climb. Would-be entrepreneurs will do the math on labor costs and realize it’s just not worth the risk. This is a real cost to the economy that we can’t measure. A company that never exists never employs anyone.
6. Prices for everything will go up as businesses pass higher labor costs along to consumers. One of two things will happen: Either consumers won’t pay the higher prices and businesses will lay off workers or close, or consumers will pay higher prices and have less money to spend elsewhere. Either way, the higher minimum wage will represent a drag on the overall economy.

From doubling the salary range for overtime eligibility, to class action lawsuits over employers skimming server tips, to misclassification of independent contractors, the program examines where- and why- wage and hour litigation is skyrocketing.
"It's the hottest area of litigation at the federal level- by far," says Farmer. But Goldich points out that "if new (FLSA) proposals go through, there will be a lot less litigation because anyone paid less than $50,000 will not be exempt from overtime." Program 1550.

The U.S. Census Bureau finds that the median earnings of men working full-time, year-round, is $49,398. The median for women was $37,791.

"There's no question that one of the things that '77 cents' doesn't emphasize is that there's been enormous gains," said Harvard University economist Claudia Goldin.
Looking at the data above shows three clear trends that have emerged since the 1970s:
1) The spread between the sexes narrowed between 1970 and 2000. It has made little progress since.
2) Men have made no income gains in over four decades. Adjusted for inflation, men earn less today than they did in 1972.
Men's hourly wages in 2012 dollars have dropped from almost $17 an hour to about $14 an hour since the late 1970s.
Women's wages have risen from about $10 to about $12. For the past decade, wages for both men and women have been stagnant or declining, and the gap has narrowed only slightly.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics also tracks how many wives earn more than their husbands. In 1987, only 24% of wives earned the most in their marriage. Today that's up to 38% among all families in which the wife works.

Two-thirds of low wage workers report some form of wage theft every week—whether that means being cheated out of hours worked, paid less than the minimum wage or not being paid at all.
One study estimates that low wage workers—over 30 million Americans—lose 15% of their income each year, the restaurant industry being one of the worst offenders. According to the Department of Labor, 84 percent of sit-down restaurants inspected in the last three years were in violation of wage laws.
Meanwhile, in Washington, the food services industry is an organized and powerful opponent against increased minimum wage and workplace protections, spending millions of dollars each year to lobby against regulations and increased wages.
Fault Lines travels to Miami, Chicago, and Washington D.C. to speak with restaurant workers, hear their grievances and find out what recourse they have when they are not paid what they are owed.

However I gave it a try and deposited just £43 pounds. I have had a few problems on my machine in regards to video but this is the result in fulmost. Usually I am a slots only player when it comes to gambling.
Roulette had never appealed to me in the past, however I started seeing some interesting playing attacks at the game lately more and more and deicded to try it.
Very interesting, but also difficult trying to capture the video gameplay. But this is my effort.

According to figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), British workers are earning no more than they were 10 years ago despite the current inflation rate.
The ONS has blamed the fall on a number of causes, saying, "This may be because of pay freezes for people who remain in the same job, or it may reflect changes in the composition of jobs that people do, with some high-paid jobs being cut as the economy adjusts following the shock of 2008-09 and more low-paid jobs being created."
Britain's Trades Union Congress (TUC) criticized the government's policies on current economic situation and said the figures came as no surprise.

Fast food employees in New York City demand higher pay amidst a national debate over increasing the minimum wage. Last week in New York City, hundreds of fast food workers walked off their jobs, demanding higher wages and improved benefits. Many of them earn the federal minimum wage of $7.50 an hour. New York state recently approved an increase in the minimum wage to $9 an hour by the year 2016. But for a full time worker that still would only mean a yearly income of $18,000 in a city where the living wage for one adult is estimated at $26,500. In response to the protests, McDonald's issued a statement saying it treats their employees with dignity and respect while offering competitive wages. Employees, however, say the company is simply ignorning their demands.
