Vipul Amrutlal Shah

Vipul Amrutlal Shah (commonly known as Vipul Shah) is a film producer and director of Hindi films. As of 2010, he has directed five Hindi films, four of which have starred Akshay Kumar.

Career

Vipul Shah started with a soap opera Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka, aired on Sony Entertainment Television. The serial went on to become the longest running family drama with over 1000 episodes.

Shah's debut film as director was Aankhen, which was among the five biggest hits of 2002. He then impressed the audience and critics in his next film Waqt: The Race Against Time, which was also one of the highest grossing films of 2005. His next two films, Namastey London and Singh Is Kinng did very well at the box office with the latter breaking all previous opening records in bollywood. In 2009, he directed London Dreams, starring Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Asin Thottumkal, which was an average grosser at the box office. His 2010 release, Action Replay starring Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai, which was a flop.

Akshay Kumar

Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia (born 9 September 1967), better known by his stage name Akshay Kumar, is an Indian actor, producer and martial artist who has appeared in over a hundred Hindi films. He has been nominated for Filmfare Awards several times, winning it two times. When he began his acting career in the 1990s, he primarily starred in action films and was known for his appearances in films of the "Khiladi series" as well as other action films such as Waqt Hamara Hai (1993), Mohra (1994), Elaan (1994), Suhaag (1994), Sapoot (1996), Jaanwar (1999).

Later, Kumar also gained fame for his drama, romance, action and comic roles. His performances in romance films like Yeh Dillagi (1994), Dhadkan (2000), Andaaz (2003) and Namastey London (2007), as well as drama films such as Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005). His comic performances in comedy films such as Hera Pheri (2000), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Garam Masala (2005), Bhagam Bhag (2006), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), and Singh Is Kinng (2008) met with acclaim. In 2007, he starred in four consecutive commercially successful films. Kumar hit a rough patch since 2009 to 2011 but came back with two successes, Housefull 2 (2012) and Rowdy Rathore (2012) with both of them grossing over ₹1 billion (US$15 million). His other films like OMG (2012), Special 26 (2013), Holiday (2014), Gabbar is Back (2015) and Airlift (2016) were highly successful critically and commercially. In February 2013, many media outlets reported that the net box-office collection of Kumar's films had crossed ₹20 billion (US$290 million) and he was the first and the only Bollywood actor to do so.Box Office India listed Kumar as one of the most successful actors in the history of Indian Cinema. Having done so, he has established himself as a leading contemporary actor of Hindi cinema.

Shah

Shah (Šâh or Şah) (/ˈʃɑː/; Persian: شاه‎‎, [ʃɒːh], "king") is a title given to the emperors/kings and lords of Iran (historically also known as Persia). It was also adopted by the kings of Shirvan (a historical Iranian region in Transcaucasia) namely the Shirvanshahs, the rulers and offspring of the Ottoman Empire (termed there as Şeh), the Bengal Sultanate, as well as in Georgia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. In Iran (Persia and Greater Persia) the title was continuously used; rather than King in the European sense, each Persian ruler regarded himself as the Šâhanšâh (King of Kings) or Emperor of the Persian Empire. The word descends from Old Persian Xšâyathiya "king", which (for reasons of historical phonology) must be a borrowing from Median, and is derived from the same root as Avestan xšaΘra-, "power" and "command", corresponding to Sanskrit (Old Indic) kṣatra- (same meaning), from which kṣatriya-, "warrior", is derived. The full, Old Persian title of the Achaemenid rulers of the First Persian Empire was Xšâyathiya Xšâyathiyânâm or Šâhe Šâhân, "King of Kings" or "Emperor". This word is commonly confused with the unrelated and distinct Indian surname Shah, which is derived from the Sanskrit Sadhu/Sahu (meaning gentleman ).

Vidyut Jamwal

Vidyut Jammwal (born 10 December 1980) is an Indian film actor. He is also a trained martial artist, having learned Kalaripayattu since the age of three. He is popularly known as "The New Age Action Hero of Bollywood" " He has worked in Bollywood, Kollywood and Tollywood films.

Early life

Jammwal was one of three children born in an army officer's home, having lived across various parts of India owing to his father's transferable job and training in martial arts from an ashram in Kerala since he was three years old which was run by his mother. He has traveled the world training with martial artists in various forms, all of which find their base in kalaripayat. After earning a strong degree in martial arts, Jammwal traveled to over 25 countries where he performed live action shows, something beyond any regular showcase ever done before. He moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in films in 2008 and after pursuing a brief stint in modeling, he landed his debut role in Nishikant Kamat's Force after one audition and was chosen among thousands of other applicants for the role of Vishnu.

Namastey London

Namastey London is a 2007 Indian romantic drama film directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. It also stars Rishi Kapoor, Upen Patel and Clive Standen in supporting roles. Riteish Deshmukh has a cameo role in the film. The concept of Indians being born in foreign nations and forgetting their Indian roots and instead trying to become like people of that nation is drawn from the Manoj Kumar starrer Purab Aur Paschim. The film is made for an Indian audience in India, with most of the topics being controversial in India, like openly kissing in public and alcohol abuse. This film was a box office hit and also earned a Filmfare Award for Best Actor nomination for Akshay Kumar.

It was remade in Bengali, as Paran Jai Jaliya Re starring Dev & Subhashree Ganguly which was a massive hit in West Bengal.

In June 2015, unofficial sources announced a sequel titled "Namastey England" was in talks and Akshay Kumar has been roped in as the lead once again. The makers are currently looking for a lead actress to star opposite Akshay Kumar. The team begins the race soon and will be seen camping in Punjab and London from January 2016 and are eyeing for a late 2016 release.
