2014 S/S
2014 S/S is the debut album of South Korean group WINNER. It was released on August 12, 2014 by the group's record label, YG Entertainment. The members were credited for writing the lyrics and composing the majority of the album's songs.
Upon release, 2014 S/S proved to be a success, topping both local and international charts. The title track "Empty" received an instant "all-kill" by topping the ten major real-time Korean music charts.
"Empty" and "Color Ring" became hits in South Korea, topping the Gaon Chart and Billboard's K-Pop Hot 100 chart. All of the tracks charted on digital charts while the lead single, Empty, retained its number one position for more than a week on various charts. Internationally, 2014 S/S took the top spot in Billboard's World Album Chartand landed the top spot on iTunes "Top Album Charts" for Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and Taiwan.
Composition
The members produced the majority of the music for this album themselves, with the help of other producers such as Choice 37, Airplay, and others.

65 TV Themes! From the 50's and 60's is the first volume of the Television's Greatest Hits series of compilation albums by TVT Records. From the 50's and 60's was a double LP that featured 65 themes from television shows ranging from the mid-1950s until the late 1960s.
The album catalog was later acquired by The Bicycle Music Company. In September 2011, Los Angeles-based Oglio Records announced they were releasing the Television's Greatest Hits song catalog after entering into an arrangement The Bicycle Music Company. A series of 9 initial "6-packs" including some of the songs from the album has been announced for 2011.
Don Pardo "hosted" the original LP and cassette versions from 1985. Five tracks are exclusive to the original 1985 releases...

Vincent Bevins then joins, diving right into his work exploring the 2010s through the lens of mass protest and their impact, bringing to light the shocking fact that many of the most notorious protests of the era lead to the very opposite of their original goals. Next, looking to his key examples, Bevins walks Emma through the mass protests that exploded in Brazil in June 2013, looking at the role of mass and social media in highly publicizing the protests and the state’s violent response, and expanding the protests well beyond their original aims as various political groups took advantage of the moment, pushing aside the social democratic goals of original organizers in favor of broad anti-corruption, anti-regime ideas, all of which laid the path to the corrupt anti-corruption case that jailed Lula da Silva and landed Bolsonairo in the presidency. Expanding on this, Vincent Bevins parses through the failure of the organizing strategy of the new left – following decades of the crippling social and organizing structures under neoliberalism and atomization – and why the decentralization presented by largely media-driven mobilization can often see moments hijacked by more centralized and politically powerful groups, before looking more carefully at the evolution of the internet over the last two decades, and how the ideas of the social good of the internet and the neoliberal “end of history” were actively challenged as mainstream ideas. Wrapping up, Vincent and Emma explore what the successful protests of the era looked like, and the importance of a movement that speaks for itself – lest someone else speak for them.

The term to describe this phenomenon would be known as the ‘Industrial Revolution’ and was first used by French writers, but made popular by English economic historian Arnold Toynbee.

Among the thousands who turned out were leading members of the government, dressed in white.
Prayers were held before a statue of Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre, the patron saint of Cuba.
The Pontiff's visit has been popular in what is officially an atheist country, with Benedict calling for a more open society.
Before returning to Rome, the Pope will also have a short meeting with former president Fidel Castro.
Benedict's visit has reinvigorated the campaign run by Cuba's Ladies in White - the movement made up of female relatives of jailed dissidents. Members march every Sunday in protest.
Some were detained over the weekend and later released, but there are reports that members were arrested ahead of the Pope's public mass on Wednesday.
However, the Pontiff's words have impressed the group.
"It's very important for us Cubans that the Pope comes with a message of love, a message of freedom and confidence, of faith and peace. This is precisely what Cubans need," said leader Berta Soler Fernandez.
Benedict had a private meeting with president Raul Castro to discuss humanitarian issues. The Pope has also asked for the government to declare Good Friday a public holiday because of its importance for Catholics.

Next, looking to his key examples, Bevins walks Emma through the mass protests that exploded in Brazil in June 2013, looking at the role of mass and social media in highly publicizing the protests and the state’s violent response, and expanding the protests well beyond their original aims as various political groups took advantage of the moment, pushing aside the social democratic goals of original organizers in favor of broad anti-corruption, anti-regime ideas, all of which laid the path to the corrupt anti-corruption case that jailed Lula da Silva and landed Bolsonairo in the presidency. Expanding on this, Vincent Bevins parses through the failure of the organizing strategy of the new left – following decades of the crippling social and organizing structures under neoliberalism and atomization – and why the decentralization presented by largely media-driven mobilization can often see moments hijacked by more centralized and politically powerful groups, before looking more carefully at the evolution of the internet over the last two decades, and how the ideas of the social good of the internet and the neoliberal “end of history” were actively challenged as mainstream ideas. Wrapping up, Vincent and Emma explore what the successful protests of the era looked like, and the importance of a movement that speaks for itself – lest someone else speak for them.

http://www.euronews.com/ Pope Benedict XVI's last day in Cuba was marked with a public mass in Havana's Revolution Square.
Among the thousands who turned out were leading members of the government, dressed in white.
Prayers were held before a statue of Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre, the patron saint of Cuba.
The Pontiff's visit has been popular in what is officially an atheist country, with Benedict calling for a more open society.
Before returning to Rome, the Pope will also have a short meeting with former president Fidel Castro.
Benedict's visit has reinvigorated the campaign run by Cuba's Ladies in White - the movement made up of female relatives of jailed dissidents. Members march every Sunday in protest.
Some were detained over the weekend and later released, but there are reports that members were arrested ahead of the Pope's public mass on Wednesday.
However, the Pontiff's words have impressed the group.
"It's very important for us Cubans that the Pope comes with a message of love, a message of freedom and confidence, of faith and peace. This is precisely what Cubans need," said leader Berta Soler Fernandez.
Benedict had a private meeting with president Raul Castro to discuss humanitarian issues. The Pope has also asked for the government to declare Good Friday a public holiday because of its importance for Catholics.

2014 S/S is the debut album of South Korean group WINNER. It was released on August 12, 2014 by the group's record label, YG Entertainment. The members were credited for writing the lyrics and composing the majority of the album's songs.

"Empty" and "Color Ring" became hits in South Korea, topping the Gaon Chart and Billboard's K-Pop Hot 100 chart. All of the tracks charted on digital charts while the lead single, Empty, retained its number one position for more than a week on various charts. Internationally, 2014 S/S took the top spot in Billboard's World Album Chartand landed the top spot on iTunes "Top Album Charts" for Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and Taiwan.
Composition
The members produced the majority of the music for this album themselves, with the help of other producers such as Choice 37, Airplay, and others.
