He is best known for his starring role as the private investigator Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980–1988), based in Hawaii. Since 2010, he has also been a primary cast member as NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan in the drama Blue Bloods on CBS.
Selleck has appeared in more than 50 film and television roles since Magnum, P.I., including Three Men and a Baby, Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball, and Lassiter. Selleck appeared as Dr. Richard Burke on Friends, where he played the on-again, off-again love-interest of Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), and as A.J. Cooper on the TV series Las Vegas.
Selleck was born in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Martha Selleck (née Jagger), a housewife, and Robert Dean Selleck (d. 2001), who was an executive and real estate investor. His father was of English and distant German ancestry, while his mother was of English descent. Selleck graduated from Grant High School, in 1962.
Olive Oyl Voice Compare 1933-2007 Olive Oyl is Popeye's anorexic girlfriend who has appeared in a number of Popeye shorts. In her original comic strip Thimble Theatre she actually had a lot of weight on her. Olive Oyl was first voiced by Bonnie Poe who used a deep Brooklyn accent in some cartoons not all, it wasn't until Mae Questel created the voice using an impression of 1930's actress Zasu Pitts. 1. Bonnie Poe (1933, 1934, 1938 using the ZaSu Pitts impression) 2. Mae Questel (1933--1938,1944-1960s) 3. Margie Hines (1938--1943) 4. Marilyn Schreffler (1978-her death in 1988) 5. Diane Michelle (2007) 6. Tabitha St Germain (2004) The character is best portrayed by Margie Hines who does a dead on impression of ZaSu Pitts. He is also a guardian to two teenage cowgirls – Wendy (voiced by Marilyn Schreffler) and Rita (voiced by Pat Parris) – who work at the Fuddy Dude Ranch owned by grouchy, old Fenwick Fuddy (voiced by Hal Peary). While working for WJBC-AM in Bloomington, IL, during the Summer of '88, I was excited to discover that my friend & fellow employee, Ken Behrens, interviewed the iconic voice actor Daws Butler! Here's that interview as it aired on WJBC. 10.10.85.
Voice Comparison as requested: (Who do you think did the best Betty?) Margie Hines (1930,1931,1932,1938,1939) Hines was the first and last person to voice Betty Boop in original series. Little Ann Little (1930,1931,1932) Ann Rothschild signed up after premier of Dizzy Dishes, she claims to have been the "original" voice of Betty Boop in several of her interviews, she started off in vaudeville and and she also was the first person to portray Betty Boop in person until the characters retirement. In later years Ann disliked the fact that Mae Questel was being classed as the "original" Betty Boop, it is unknown why Ann was replaced by Questel in the early 30's, most likely because she was touring as Betty Boop across the "country". In the 1940's Ann tried to use the name "Betty Boop" ...
In June of 1986, Daws Butler, who was the voice of Yogi Bear was interviewed by Larry King on his radio show. Also interviewed were radio and tv actors Parley Baer and Les Tremayne.
(Deb) Frank you know when I as growing up even though it wasn't in Kansas, people all over the country were like me grew up watching the stories everyday and Mom and my Aunts, and especially some of the guys hated to admit it, but they were watching the stories too. And those soap operas have just become such a piece of our culture and just so ingrained. It's like family, really that you feel about. And you've got a great story today about a soap opera star from right here in Kansas. (Frank) Yea Jim Reynolds, of course his professional name is James Reynolds, but Jim grew up in Oskaloosa. And Linda and I, my wife and I, were involved with the Dale Easton Players for about 26 years, and Jim was part of the Dale Easton players at one time. We did shows downstairs in McFarland's, if you can ...

Cold War propaganda cartoon by William Hanna & Joseph Barbera aimed to fight the perceived threats of Soviet communism against exceptional American values, including Free Market Capitalism. It features Billy Bletcher as the voice of Labor unions. The 5 foot, 2 inch comedian often used his deep, baritone voice as cartoon villains. It also featured Daws Butler as the voice of Dr. Utopia. Daws, 5 ft. 2 as well, famously voiced Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Quick-Draw McGraw, Snagglepuss, Jinks the cat, Dixie the mouse, Augie Doggie, Peter Potamus, Wally Gator, Hokey Wolf, Super Snooper, Blabber Mouse, Cogswell Cogs, Elroy Jetson and many others. The title is play on the Disney animation, Make Mine Music. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0151467 CHANGE BEFORE GOING PRODUCTIONS: http://www.cbgp.c...
Yogi and Boo Boo usually snooze right through Christmas. (Hibernation, you know.) But this year, happy holiday music rouses them from their sleep and right into the fun: skating, skiing, singing and trimming the tree. But life isn't all mistletoe and eggnog. Two holiday grouches -- a mysterious hermit and the obnoxious nephew of Jellystone Lodge's owner -- are determined to ruin Christmas. And our two heroes, joined by Snagglepuss, Augie Doggie, Doggie Daddy, Huckleberry Hound and more Hanna-Barbera favorites, are just as determined to make December 25 the jolliest day of the year!
