If you fear you're off to summer school, ease the stress of uncertainty with some simple math and know when to seek help with your grades.
Step 1: Find a grading scale
Find a four-point grading scale that assigns a point value from four to zero for every possible grade.
Tip
Most schools in the United States use a four-point scale, where A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, and E=0. If you're unsure ask your teacher or an administrator.
Step 2: Collect recent grades
Collect the most recent grades you can by asking your teacher or an office administrator.
Step 3: Record the point value for each grade
Write down the correct point value next to each grade using the four-point scale.
Step 4: Add the points together
Add up all the points and write down the total.
Step 5: Calculate the average
Calculate the average by dividing the total by the number of grades you added together. This is your GPA.

Grading (education)
Grading in education is the process of applying standardized measurements of varying levels of achievement in a course. Another way the grade point average (GPA) can be determined is through extra curricular activities. Grades can be assigned as letters (generally A through F), as a range (for example 1 to 6), as a percentage of a total number of questions answered correctly, or as a number out of a possible total (for example out of 20 or 100).
In some countries, all grades from all current classes are averaged to create a Grade Point Average (GPA) for the marking period. The GPA is calculated by taking the number of grade points a student earned in a given period of time of middle school through high school. GPAs are also calculated for undergraduate and graduate students in most universities. The GPA can be used by potential employers or educational institutions to assess and compare applicants. A cumulative grade point average is a calculation of the average of all of a student's grades for all of his or her complete education career.

Harvard Business School
Harvard Business School (HBS) is the graduate business school of Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The school offers a large full-time MBA program, doctoral programs, HBX and many executive education programs. It owns Harvard Business School Publishing, which publishes business books, leadership articles, online management tools for corporate learning, case studies, and the monthly Harvard Business Review.
History
The school started in 1908 under the humanities faculty, received independent status in 1910, and became a separate administrative unit in 1913. The first dean was historian Edwin Francis Gay (1867–1946).
Yogev (2001) explains the original concept:
Although the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania was the first business school in the United States in 1881, Harvard Business School was the first school to grant an MBA program in 1908. From the start the school enjoyed a close relationship with the corporate world. Within a few years of its founding many business leaders were its alumni and were hiring other alumni for starting positions in their firms.
