The Airbus A340 is a long-range, four-engine, wide-body commercial passenger jet airliner developed and produced by Airbus. The A340 was assembled at Toulouse, France. It seats up to 375 passengers in the standard variants and 440 in the stretched -600 series. Depending on the model, it has a range of between 6,700 to 9,000 nautical miles (12,400 to 16,700 km; 7,700 to 10,400 mi). The A340 is similar in design to the twin-engine Airbus A330 with which it was concurrently designed. Its distinguishing features are four high-bypass turbofan engines and three-bogie main landing gears.
The A340 was manufactured in four fuselage lengths. The initial variant, A340-300, which entered service in 1993, measured 59.39 metres (194.8 ft). The shorter -200 was developed next, and the A340-600 was a 15.91 metres (52.2 ft) stretch of the -200. The -600 was developed alongside the shorter A340-500, which would become the longest-range commercial airliner until the arrival of the Boeing 777-200LR. The two initial models were powered by the CFM56-5C, rated at 151 kilonewtons (34,000 lbf), while Rolls-Royce held exclusive powerplant rights to the extended-range and heavier -500 and -600 models, through the 267-kilonewton (60,000 lbf) Rolls-Royce Trent 500. The initial A340-200 and -300 variants share the fuselage and wing of the A330, while the -500 and -600 are longer and have larger wings.
Air Berlin PLC & Co. Luftverkehrs KG (FWB: AB1), branded as airberlin or airberlin.com, is Germany's second largest airline, after Lufthansa, and Europe's eighth largest airline in terms of passengers carried. It maintains hubs at Berlin Tegel Airport and Düsseldorf Airport and operates a route network that includes a total of 17 German cities, some European metropolitan and several leisure destinations in Southern Europe and North Africa, as well as intercontinental services to destinations in the Caribbean and the Americas.
Air Berlin is a member of the Oneworld alliance, and owns the subsidiaries NIKI in Austria and Belair in Switzerland. It is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Etihad Airways is the largest shareholder, having increased its shareholding to 29,21% in 2011. Air Berlin is headquartered in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, a borough of Berlin.
Originally registered as Air Berlin USA, the company was founded in 1978 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Lelco, an American agricultural enterprise headquartered in Oregon, to operate charter flights on behalf of German tour operators from Berlin Tegel Airport, mostly to Mediterranean holiday resorts. As a United States airline, Air Berlin was able to access the West Berlin airline market. During the Cold War, Berlin's special political status meant that the air corridors into and out of Tegel Airport could only be used by airlines registered in France, the United Kingdom or the United States. The airline's headquarters were initially at Tegel Airport. Leonard Lundgren was the first chairman.
The Boeing 777 is a family of long-range wide-body twin-engine jet airliners developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It is the world's largest twinjet and has a typical seating capacity for 314 to 451 passengers, with a range of 5,235 to 9,500 nautical miles (9,695 to 17,594 km). Commonly referred to as the "Triple Seven", its distinguishing features include the largest-diameter turbofan engines of any aircraft, six wheels on each main landing gear, fully circular fuselage cross-section, and a blade-shaped tail cone. Developed in consultation with eight major airlines, the 777 was designed to replace older wide-body airliners and bridge the capacity difference between Boeing's 767 and 747. As Boeing's first fly-by-wire airliner, it has computer-mediated controls. It is also the first commercial aircraft to be designed entirely with computer-aided design.
The 777 is produced in two fuselage lengths as of 2014. The original 777-200 variant entered commercial service in 1995, followed by the extended-range 777-200ER in 1997. The stretched 777-300, which is 33.25 ft (10.1 m) longer, followed in 1998. The longer-range 777-300ER and 777-200LR variants entered service in 2004 and 2006 respectively, while the 777F, a freighter version, debuted in February 2009; these variants all feature General Electric GE90 engines and extended raked wingtips. The earlier 777-200, -200ER and -300 versions are equipped with GE90, Pratt & Whitney PW4000, or Rolls-Royce Trent 800 engines. The 777-200LR is the world's longest-range airliner, able to fly more than halfway around the globe, and holds the record for the longest distance flown non-stop by a commercial aircraft.
Rio de Janeiro (/ˈriːoʊ di ʒəˈnɛəroʊ, -deɪ ʒə-, -də dʒə-/; Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈʁi.u dʒi ʒɐˈnejɾu];River of January), or simply Rio, is the second-largest city in Brazil, the sixth-largest city in the Americas, and the world's thirty-ninth largest city by population. The metropolis is anchor to the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area, the second most populous metropolitan area in Brazil, the seventh-most populous in the Americas, and the twenty-third largest in the world. Rio de Janeiro is the capital of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil's third-most populous state. Part of the city has been designated as a World Heritage Site, named "Rio de Janeiro: Carioca Landscapes between the Mountain and the Sea", by UNESCO on 1 July 2012 as a Cultural Landscape.
Founded in 1565 by the Portuguese, the city was initially the seat of the Captaincy of Rio de Janeiro, a domain of the Portuguese Empire. Later, in 1763, it became the capital of the State of Brazil, a state of the Portuguese Empire. In 1808, when the Portuguese Royal Court transferred itself from Portugal to Brazil, Rio de Janeiro became the chosen seat of the court of Queen Maria I of Portugal, who subsequently, in 1815, under the leadership of her son, the Prince Regent, and future King João VI of Portugal, raised Brazil to the dignity of a kingdom, within the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil, and Algarves. Rio stayed the capital of the pluricontinental Lusitanian monarchy until 1822, when the War of Brazilian Independence began. This is one of the few instances in history that the capital of a colonising country officially shifted to a city in one of its colonies. Rio de Janeiro subsequently served as the capital of the independent monarchy, the Empire of Brazil, until 1889, and then the capital of a republican Brazil until 1960 when the capital was transferred to Brasília.
The Airbus A330 is a medium to long range wide-body twin-engine jet airliner made by Airbus, a division of Airbus Group. Versions of the A330 have a range of 5,600 to 13,430 kilometres (3,020 to 7,250 nmi; 3,480 to 8,350 mi) and can accommodate up to 335 passengers in a two-class layout or carry 70 tonnes (154,000 lb) of cargo.
The A330's origin dates to the mid-1970s as one of several conceived derivatives of Airbus's first airliner, the A300. The A330 was developed in parallel with the four-engine A340, which shared many common airframe components but differed in number of engines. Both airliners incorporated fly-by-wire flight control technology, first introduced on an Airbus aircraft with the A320, as well as the A320's six-display glass cockpit. In June 1987, after receiving orders from various customers, Airbus launched the A330 and A340. The A330 was Airbus's first airliner that offered a choice of three engines: General Electric CF6, Pratt & Whitney PW4000, and Rolls-Royce Trent 700.

Directly after the arrival of an Air Berlin Airbus A330 a small Dash 8 of Air Berlin entered the runway in front of a Lufthansa Airbus A340-600. The Dash 8 was waiting at another intersection and tried to avoid the wake turbulences of the departing Airbus 340-600. This was one of the last A346 departures at Düsseldorf. Soon they will replace the A346 with a smaller A330-300. The size difference between the Dash8 and the A340-600 is impressive and the Bombardie Dash 8 kinda looks like a toy plane in front of the long Airbus 340-600 Featured planes: 1.) Profitable growth is one of the cornerstones of our strategy. Finnair has ordered a total of 19 new Airbus A350 XWB aircraft from Airbus, which we have now received a total of 11. The period of accelerated growth has also meant growth in the number of redelivered aircraft as smaller planes make room for larger ones. Finnair's last A340 aircraft (LQE) swayed its white wings as a goodbye when it took off towards its new home Tarbes and Airbus's ownership. Redelivery projects are massive cross-organizational achievements that we can really be proud of. The finish of all the redeliveries of the A340 aircraft would not have been possible without working together for a common goal across Finnair. As noted in the video, the thanks belong to all employees whom without this would not have been po...
Which of these planes do you like more? Write it in the comments. In addition to that please add which planes I should compare next. You decide !! It` s time for another "versus" video. Some of you told me that I should compare the Boeing 777 with the Airbus A340. Took me some time to sum up the best clips of the B777 and A340 in my video collection. The Boeing 777 hat its maiden flight in 1994. Since 1994 Boeing deliverd 1300 Boeing777`s. In comparison to that the Airbus A340 had its first flight in 1991. The A340 wasn` t as succesful as the Boeing 777 cause they only delivered 377 A340` s between 1991 and 2011. If I am honest I was extremly surprised because I thought Airbus delivered much more A340`s. Camera used: Canon 5dMarkii + Canon 100-400 Thanks for watching, I hope you liked...

ZRH-DUS: Lucky enought to fly the A340-300 on a inter-europe route. Lately Swiss has been flying them to Geneva and Hanover but now Dusseldorf is fairly common, at least in the month of July. It was a beautiful day in Zurich with partly cloudy skies. We departed about an hour late late due to air traffic control restrictions. I've noticed that in Zurich, when departing around 17:00, there are typically delays (at least it's happened to me 3 times when flying out around that time of day). Livin' the life in the quick lane
Only the strong can survive
These streets'll swallow you up man
and eat you alive
Cain't be no poodle
Run tuck yo tail and hide
They'll spaghetti yo noodle man
Element of Surprise
It's goin' around man!
Death in the air
Better not be scared
Cause ay-henas can smell fear
It's not a lot of love but it's a whole lot of hate
Beware of your surroundings
They starving, they ain't
The lake of fire awaits for those with no souls
Hot like a stove
Hotter than hot coals
That's the thought processer of soil soldier

Wherever money and I get to it (whatchu living?)
In the fast lane [x8]
[Verse 2]:
Looking up with greenbacks on your mind is a good sign
My name ringing like a high school bell, like a church chime
This ain't chameleon, but go get a glass of wine
Listen to me preach my rhyme, sit back and recline
I'm too real to be unreal to truthful to be fake
Daddy and mommy when they separate ways when I was eight
But it made me great, more stronger and God willing
A few years later, I'm worth a few million
Top billion, killin em with my independent grip
Got rid of my digital scale and started making hits
Flipping all kind of whips visits cutlass and Lexus's
Me and the Clickers St. Charles, God was blessing us
Successfulness, all praises due to Allah
Jesus Jehovah the most highest almighty God
Reverend Therman them other Therman I miss you much
I know you up in heaven watching over us
Get back and help people that's what they taught me to do
Can't save the world but I can help save a few
People talk behind my back laugh and smiled all in my face
Saying my voice was too squeaky and my style was a disgrace[Hook]
