MiLab, Moldova Social Innovation Lab within UNDP Moldova, will host Open Data Media Camp 2017 during 13-17 September 2017 for 25 local participants, guided by 5 Slovak mentors. Investigative journalists, activists, NGO representatives and bloggers interested in open data, research and watchdog activities are expected to participate.

The Republic of Moldova has committed to achieving 106 targets for a better life by 2030. The respective targets represent the outcome of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda’s nationalization. Moldova has committed to implement the 2030 Agenda jointly with the other 192 UN Member States by adopting the Declaration of the Sustainable Development Summit that took place in September 2015 in New York.

UNDP has delivered more than half of medicines necessary for nine national and special health programmes in the Republic of Moldova

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) provided the Ministry of Health with 56% of the total volume of medicines contracted under an assistance project focused on the procurement of life-saving medicine for patients in the Republic of Moldova. These efforts brought over USD 923,000 in savings to the state budget or 23% of the allocated budget.

Ialoveni benefits from street lightening and shall generate more income for the local budget, due to a tower crane procured for high works

Natives from Ialoveni contributed with over 2,500 USD, supporting their local public administration to procure a tower crane for executing height works. The Government of Switzerland offered via the United Nations Development Programme, a grant of 20,000 USD, on top of the 2,500 USD allocated by the city hall local budget and the contributions of the population.

Around 4,000 inhabitants from Scoreni, Straseni district, will benefit from street lighting, due to villagers’ and migrants’ engagement in local development.

Over 200 thousand persons from 23 localities will benefit from projects aiming to improve local infrastructure and bring better living conditions, initiative that became possible thanks to migrants’ engagement. So, over 792 thousand USD are invested by 18 villages and 5 cities. Out of this amount, approx. 118.6 thousand USD represent migrants’ donations, collected via Guvern24 crowdfunding platform.

A public-private partnership brings green energy to 7 schools and kindergartens from Ungheni

7 schools and kindergartens from Ungheni district switched from gas & coal to green energy supplied by a private company. The Ungheni District Council signed a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contract with the Green Energo company, which provides green energy to the beneficiary institution at the price of 750 lei Gcal.
