The forests aren't just mangrove swamps though, they include some of the last remaining stands of the mighty jungles which once covered the Gangetic plain. The Sundarbans cover an area of 38,500 sq km, of which about one-third is covered in water. Since 1966 the Sundarbans have been a wildlife sanctuary, and it is estimated that there are now 400 Royal Bengal tigers and about 30,000 spotted deer in the area. Really wonderful place, except the annoying noise of engine boat while on boat (Sorry for the video sound, I wanted to keep the original sound). এছাড়া আরও যে সব দর্শনীয় স্থান রয়েছে কুয়াকাটায় সেগুলো হলো- ফাতরার বন: রাখাইন পল্লী, সীমা বৌদ্ধ মন্দির: কু কেরানিপাড়া: আদিবাসীদের পল্লী কেরানিপাড়া। এখানকার রাখাইন নারীদেও প্রধান কাজ কাপড় বুনন। আলীপুর বন্দর: কুয়াকাটা থেকে প্রায় চার কিলোমিটার উত্তরে রয়েছে দক্ষিণাঞ্চলের অন্যতম বড় একটি মাছ ব্যবসা কেন্দ্র আলীপুর। মিশ্রিপাড়া বৌদ্ধ মন্দির: কুয়াকাটা সমুদ্র সৈকত থেকে প্রায় আট কিলোমিটার পূর্বে রাখাইন আদিবাসীদের আরকেটি বাসস্থল মিশ্রিপাড়ায় রয়েছে আরেকটি বৌদ্ধ মন্দির। এ মন্দিরেই রয়েছে উপমহাদেশের সবচেয়ে বড় বৌদ্ধ মূর্তি। গঙ্গামতির জঙ্গল: কুয়াকাটা সুমুদ্র সৈকত পূব দিকে শেষ হয়েছে গঙ্গামতির খালে গিয়ে। আর এখানে শুরু হয়েছে গঙ্গামতির বা গজমতির জঙ্গল। বিভিন্ন রককম গাছপালা ছাড়াও এই জঙ্গলে দেখা মিলতে পারে বন মোরগ, বানর ও নানা রকম পাখির।
