This is the stomach-churning moment two teenage daredevils dice with death as they dangle from the Golden Gate Bridge.
In San Francisco, California, USA, YouTube daredevil Peter Teatime is about to embark on his most jaw-dropping stunt yet, as he attempts to climb the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
Scouring the thick, red cables, Peter and his urban exploring partner, Tommy Rector, sprint up the bridge’s frame, even stopping to do backflips and somersaults on their narrow ‘walkways’.
As if standing at the height of 746ft wasn’t enough of a thrill, the daring duo decided to dangle their entire bodies over the edge of one of the bridge’s towers, with only their fingertips stopping them from making the long fall to the ground below.
Peter, from Allenton Wisconsin, said: “It was a tough climb and incredibly tiring, those cables get very steep."

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate strait, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km), one-point-seven-mile-long (2.7 km) channel between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the American city of San Francisco, California – the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula – to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
The Frommer's travel guide describes the Golden Gate Bridge as "possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world." It opened in 1937 and was, until 1964, the longest suspension bridge main span in the world, at 4,200 feet (1,280 m).
Before the bridge was built, the only practical short route between San Francisco and what is now Marin County was by boat across a section of San Francisco Bay. A ferry service began as early as 1820, with a regularly scheduled service beginning in the 1840s for the purpose of transporting water to San Francisco.
The Sausalito Land and Ferry Company service, launched in 1867, eventually became the Golden Gate Ferry Company, a Southern Pacific Railroad subsidiary, the largest ferry operation in the world by the late 1920s. Once for railroad passengers and customers only, Southern Pacific's automobile ferries became very profitable and important to the regional economy. The ferry crossing between the Hyde Street Pier in San Francisco and Sausalito in Marin County took approximately 20 minutes and cost US$1.00 per vehicle, a price later reduced to compete with the new bridge. The trip from the San Francisco Ferry Building took 27 minutes.
Many wanted to build a bridge to connect San Francisco to Marin County. San Francisco was the largest American city still served primarily by ferry boats. Because it did not have a permanent link with communities around the bay, the city's growth rate was below the national average. Many experts said that a bridge could not be built across the 6,700 ft (2,042 m) strait, which had strong, swirling tides and currents, with water 372 ft (113 m) deep at the center of the channel, and frequent strong winds. Experts said that ferocious winds and blinding fogs would prevent construction and operation.

The construction began on January 5, 1933. The project cost more than $35 million, completing ahead of schedule and under budget. The Golden Gate Bridge construction project was carried out by the McClintic-Marshall Construction Co., a subsidiary of Bethlehem Steel Corporation. The chief engineer in charge of overall design and construction of the bridge project was Joseph Strauss. However, because he had little understanding or experience with cable-suspension designs, responsibility for much of the engineering and architecture fell on other experts. The project was finished and the bridge was opened on May 27, 1937.
Specifications:
Until 1964, the Golden Gate Bridge had the longest suspension bridge main span in the world, at 4,200 feet (1,300 m). Since 1964 its main span length has been surpassed by ten bridges; it now has the second-longest main span in the United States, after the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in New York City. Total length of the Golden Gate Bridge from abutment to abutment is 8,981 feet (2,737 m). The Golden Gate Bridge's clearance above high water averages 220 feet (67 m) while its towers, at 746 feet (227 m) above the water, were the world's tallest on a suspension bridge until 1998 when bridges in Denmark and Japan were completed.
Structure:
The weight of the roadway is hung from two cables that pass through the two main towers and are fixed in concrete at each end. Each cable is made of 27,572 strands of wire. There are 80,000 miles (130,000 km) of wire in the main cables. The bridge has approximately 1,200,000 total rivets.

Ferry service began as early as 1820, with regularly scheduled service beginning in the 1840s for purposes of transporting water to San Francisco.
The strait is approximately three miles long by one mile wide; it took just over four years build. Construction started on January 5, 1933, the Bridge was open to traffic on May 28, 1937.
Eleven men lost their lives during the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, one sadly died before February 17th & the other ten workers had lost their lives on this day when a section of scaffold carrying these men fell through the safety net.
It's said that on average every two weeks, someone jumps off the Golden Gate Bridge. At least twelve hundred people have been seen jumping or have been found in the water since the bridge opened, in 1937, including Roy Raymond, the founder of Victoria’s Secret, in 1993, and Duane Garrett, a Democratic fund raiser and a friend of Al Gore’s, in 1995. The actual toll is probably a lot higher than that really. Many would sneak onto the bridge after the walkway closes at sundown, some jumpers would wrap suicide notes in plastic and tuck them into their pockets & later found.
Some jumpers are drawn to the Golden Gate because they believe it’s a gateway to another place, some think they will jump & will be saved by a spiritual being.
Sadly on December 17, 2001, a fourteen year old girl named Marissa Imrie, She was a straight A student with a great future ahead, she had plans of becoming a psychiatrist, she left her second period class at Santa Rosa High School, she got a taxi ride that cost a hundred and fifty dollar right up to the Golden Gate, got out of the taxi and jumped to her death. it was such a shock that even her own mother Renée Milligan had no idea why she did this as they were very close.
Two Survivors Ken Baldwin & Kevin Hines both say they hurdled over the railing, afraid that if they stood on the chord they might lose their courage. Baldwin was twenty eight and severely depressed on the August day in 1985 when he told his wife not to expect him home till late. “I wanted to disappear,” he said. “So the Golden Gate was the spot. I’d heard that the water just sweeps you under.” On the bridge, Baldwin counted to ten and stayed frozen. He counted to ten again, and then vaulted over. “I still see my hands coming off the railing,” he said. As he crossed the chord in flight, Baldwin recalls, “I instantly realized that everything in my life that I’d thought was unfixable was totally fixable—except for having just jumped.”
Kevin Hines was eighteen when he took a municipal bus to the bridge one day in September, 2000. After treating himself to a last meal of Starbursts and Skittles, he paced back and forth and sobbed on the bridge walkway for half an hour. No one asked him what was wrong. A beautiful German tourist approached, handed him her camera, and asked him to take her picture, which he did. “I was like, ‘Fuck this, nobody cares,’ ” he told me. “So I jumped.” But after he crossed the chord, he recalls, “My first thought was what the hell did I just do? I don’t want to die.”
Joseph Strauss, the chief engineer of the Golden Gate, watched his beloved suspension bridge rise over San Francisco Bay in the nineteen thirties, he could not imagine that anyone would use it without due care for its designated purpose.

Golden Gate
The Golden Gate is the North American strait that connects San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean. It is defined by the headlands of the San Francisco Peninsula and the Marin Peninsula, and, since 1937, has been spanned by the Golden Gate Bridge.
Geology
During the last Ice Age, when sea level was several hundred feet lower, the waters of the glacier-fed Sacramento River and the San Joaquin River scoured a deep channel through the bedrock on their way to the ocean. The strait is well known today for its depth and powerful tidal currents from the Pacific Ocean. Many small whirlpools and eddies can form in its waters. With its strong currents, rocky reefs and fog, the Golden Gate is the site of over 100 shipwrecks.
Climate
The Golden Gate is often shrouded in fog, especially during the summer. Heat generated in the California Central Valley causes air there to rise, creating a low pressure area that pulls in cool, moist air from over the Pacific Ocean. The Golden Gate forms the largest break in the hills of the California Coast Range, allowing a persistent, dense stream of fog to enter the bay there.

San Francisco
San Francisco (/sæn frənˈsɪskoʊ/), officially the City and County of San Francisco, is the cultural, commercial, and financial center of Northern California and the only consolidated city-county in California. It opened in 1937 and was, until 1964, the longest suspension bridge main span in the world, at 4,200 feet (1,280 m). Before the bridge was built, the only practical short route between San Francisco and what is now Marin County was by boat across a section of San Francisco Bay. A ferry service began as early as 1820, with a regularly scheduled service beginning in the 1840s for the purpose of transporting water to San Francisco. The Sausalito Land and Ferry Company service, launched in 1867, eventually became the Golden Gate Ferry Company, a Southern Pacific Railroad subsidiary, the largest ferry operation in the world by the late 1920s. Once for railroad passengers and customers only, Southern Pacific's automobile ferries became very profitable and important to the regional economy. The ferry crossing between the Hyde Street Pier in San Francisco and Sausalito in Marin County took approximately 20 minutes and cost US$1.00 per vehicle, a price later reduced to compete with the new bridge. The trip from the San Francisco Ferry Building took 27 minutes. Many wanted to build a bridge to connect San Francisco to Marin County. San Francisco was the largest American city still served primarily by ferry boats. Because it did not have a permanent link with communities around the bay, the city's growth rate was below the national average. Many experts said that a bridge could not be built across the 6,700 ft (2,042 m) strait, which had strong, swirling tides and currents, with water 372 ft (113 m) deep at the center of the channel, and frequent strong winds. Experts said that ferocious winds and blinding fogs would prevent construction and operation. -

However, because he had little understanding or experience with cable-suspension designs, responsibility for much of the engineering and architecture fell on other experts. The project was finished and the bridge was opened on May 27, 1937. Specifications: Until 1964, the Golden Gate Bridge had the longest suspension bridge main span in the world, at 4,200 feet (1,300 m). Since 1964 its main span length has been surpassed by ten bridges; it now has the second-longest main span in the United States, after the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in New York City. Total length of the Golden Gate Bridge from abutment to abutment is 8,981 feet (2,737 m). The Golden Gate Bridge's clearance above high water averages 220 feet (67 m) while its towers, at 746 feet (227 m) above the water, were the world's tallest on a suspension bridge until 1998 when bridges in Denmark and Japan were completed. Structure: The weight of the roadway is hung from two cables that pass through the two main towers and are fixed in concrete at each end. Each cable is made of 27,572 strands of wire. Before the bridge was built, the only practical short route between San Francisco and what is now Marin County was by boat across a section of San Francisco Bay. Ferry service began as early as 1820, with regularly scheduled service beginning in the 1840s for purposes of transporting water to San Francisco. The strait is approximately three miles long by one mile wide; it took just over four years build. Construction started on January 5, 1933, the Bridge was open to traffic on May 28, 1937. Eleven men lost their lives during the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, one sadly died before February 17th & the other ten workers had lost their lives on this day when a section of scaffold carrying these men fell through the safety net. It's said that on average every two weeks, someone jumps off the Golden Gate Bridge. At least twelve hundred people have been seen jumping or have been found in the water since the bridge opened, in 1937, including Roy Raymond, the founder of Victoria’s Secret, in 1993, and Duane Garrett, a Democratic fund raiser and a friend of Al Gore’s, in 1995. The actual toll is probably a lot higher than that really. Many would sneak onto the bridge after the walkway closes at sundown, some jumpers would wrap suicide notes in plastic and tuck them into their pockets & later found. Some jumpers are drawn to the Golden Gate because they believe it’s a gateway to another place, some think they will jump & will be saved by a spiritual being. Sadly on December 17, 2001, a fourteen year old girl named Marissa Imrie, She was a straight A student with a great future ahead, she had plans of becoming a psychiatrist, she left her second period class at Santa Rosa High School, she got a taxi ride that cost a hundred and fifty dollar right up to the Golden Gate, got out of the taxi and jumped to her death. it was such a shock that even her own mother Renée Milligan had no idea why she did this as they were very close. Two Survivors Ken Baldwin & Kevin Hines both say they hurdled over the railing, afraid that if they stood on the chord they might lose their courage. Baldwin was twenty eight and severely depressed on the August day in 1985 when he told his wife not to expect him home till late. “I wanted to disappear,” he said. “So the Golden Gate was the spot. I’d heard that the water just sweeps you under.” On the bridge, Baldwin counted to ten and stayed frozen. He counted to ten again, and then vaulted over. “I still see my hands coming off the railing,” he said. As he crossed the chord in flight, Baldwin recalls, “I instantly realized that everything in my life that I’d thought was unfixable was totally fixable—except for having just jumped.” Kevin Hines was eighteen when he took a municipal bus to the bridge one day in September, 2000. After treating himself to a last meal of Starbursts and Skittles, he paced back and forth and sobbed on the bridge walkway for half an hour. No one asked him what was wrong. A beautiful German tourist approached, handed him her camera, and asked him to take her picture, which he did. “I was like, ‘Fuck this, nobody cares,’ ” he told me. “So I jumped.” But after he crossed the chord, he recalls, “My first thought was what the hell did I just do? I don’t want to die.” Joseph Strauss, the chief engineer of the Golden Gate, watched his beloved suspension bridge rise over San Francisco Bay in the nineteen thirties, he could not imagine that anyone would use it without due care for its designated purpose. Before the bridge was built, the only practical short route between San Francisco and what is now Marin County was by boat across a section of San Francisco Bay. However, because he had little understanding or experience with cable-suspension designs, responsibility for much of the engineering and architecture fell on other experts. The project was finished and the bridge was opened on May 27, 1937.

Until 1964, the Golden Gate Bridge had the longest suspension bridge main span in the world, at 4,200 feet (1,300 m). Since 1964 its main span length has been surpassed by ten bridges; it now has the second-longest main span in the United States, after the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in New York City. Total length of the Golden Gate Bridge from abutment to abutment is 8,981 feet (2,737 m). The Golden Gate Bridge's clearance above high water averages 220 feet (67 m) while its towers, at 746 feet (227 m) above the water, were the world's tallest on a suspension bridge until 1998 when bridges in Denmark and Japan were completed.
Structure:
The weight of the roadway is hung from two cables that pass through the two main towers and are fixed in concrete at each end. Each cable is made of 27,572 strands of wire. There are 80,000 miles (130,000 km) of wire in the main cables. The bridge has approximately 1,200,000 total rivets.

In San Francisco is the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, It's known as a very popular place to go to end your life & sadly many people have actually done so over this bridge over the years.
Before the bridge was built, the only practical short route between San Francisco and what is now Marin County was by boat across a section of San Francisco Bay. Ferry service began as early as 1820, with regularly scheduled service beginning in the 1840s for purposes of transporting water to San Francisco.
The strait is approximately three miles long by one mile wide; it took just over four years build. Construction started on January 5, 1933, the Bridge was open to traffic on May 28, 1937.
Eleven men lost their lives during the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, one sadly died before February 17th & the other ten workers had lost their lives on this day when a section of scaffold carrying these men fell through the safety net.
It's said that on average every two weeks, someone jumps off the Golden Gate Bridge. At least twelve hundred people have been seen jumping or have been found in the water since the bridge opened, in 1937, including Roy Raymond, the founder of Victoria’s Secret, in 1993, and Duane Garrett, a Democratic fund raiser and a friend of Al Gore’s, in 1995. The actual toll is probably a lot higher than that really. Many would sneak onto the bridge after the walkway closes at sundown, some jumpers would wrap suicide notes in plastic and tuck them into their pockets & later found.
Some jumpers are drawn to the Golden Gate because they believe it’s a gateway to another place, some think they will jump & will be saved by a spiritual being.
Sadly on December 17, 2001, a fourteen year old girl named Marissa Imrie, She was a straight A student with a great future ahead, she had plans of becoming a psychiatrist, she left her second period class at Santa Rosa High School, she got a taxi ride that cost a hundred and fifty dollar right up to the Golden Gate, got out of the taxi and jumped to her death. it was such a shock that even her own mother Renée Milligan had no idea why she did this as they were very close.
Two Survivors Ken Baldwin & Kevin Hines both say they hurdled over the railing, afraid that if they stood on the chord they might lose their courage. Baldwin was twenty eight and severely depressed on the August day in 1985 when he told his wife not to expect him home till late. “I wanted to disappear,” he said. “So the Golden Gate was the spot. I’d heard that the water just sweeps you under.” On the bridge, Baldwin counted to ten and stayed frozen. He counted to ten again, and then vaulted over. “I still see my hands coming off the railing,” he said. As he crossed the chord in flight, Baldwin recalls, “I instantly realized that everything in my life that I’d thought was unfixable was totally fixable—except for having just jumped.”
Kevin Hines was eighteen when he took a municipal bus to the bridge one day in September, 2000. After treating himself to a last meal of Starbursts and Skittles, he paced back and forth and sobbed on the bridge walkway for half an hour. No one asked him what was wrong. A beautiful German tourist approached, handed him her camera, and asked him to take her picture, which he did. “I was like, ‘Fuck this, nobody cares,’ ” he told me. “So I jumped.” But after he crossed the chord, he recalls, “My first thought was what the hell did I just do? I don’t want to die.”
Joseph Strauss, the chief engineer of the Golden Gate, watched his beloved suspension bridge rise over San Francisco Bay in the nineteen thirties, he could not imagine that anyone would use it without due care for its designated purpose.

In San Francisco, California, USA, YouTube daredevil Peter Teatime is about to embark on his most jaw-dropping stunt yet, as he attempts to climb the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
Scouring the thick, red cables, Peter and his urban exploring partner, Tommy Rector, sprint up the bridge’s frame, even stopping to do backflips and somersaults on their narrow ‘walkways’.
As if standing at the height of 746ft wasn’t enough of a thrill, the daring duo decided to dangle their entire bodies over the edge of one of the bridge’s towers, with only their fingertips stopping them from making the long fall to the ground below.
Peter, from Allenton Wisconsin, said: “It was a tough climb and incredibly tiring, those cables get very steep."

The trip from the San Francisco Ferry Building took 27 minutes.

In San Francisco is the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, It's known as a very popular place to go to end your life & sadly many people have actually done so over this bridge over the years.
Before the bridge was built, the only practical short route between San Francisco and what is now Marin County was by boat across a section of San Francisco Bay. Ferry service began as early as 1820, with regularly scheduled service beginning in the 1840s for purposes of transporting water to San Francisco.
The strait is approximately three miles long by one mile wide; it took just over four years build. Construction started on January 5, 1933, the Bridge was open to traffic on May 28, 1937.
Eleven men lost their lives during the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, one sadly died before February 17th & the other ten workers had lost their lives on this day when a section of scaffold carrying these men fell through the safety net.
It's said that on average every two weeks, someone jumps off the Golden Gate Bridge. At least twelve hundred people have been seen jumping or have been found in the water since the bridge opened, in 1937, including Roy Raymond, the founder of Victoria’s Secret, in 1993, and Duane Garrett, a Democratic fund raiser and a friend of Al Gore’s, in 1995. The actual toll is probably a lot higher than that really. Many would sneak onto the bridge after the walkway closes at sundown, some jumpers would wrap suicide notes in plastic and tuck them into their pockets & later found.
Some jumpers are drawn to the Golden Gate because they believe it’s a gateway to another place, some think they will jump & will be saved by a spiritual being.
Sadly on December 17, 2001, a fourteen year old girl named Marissa Imrie, She was a straight A student with a great future ahead, she had plans of becoming a psychiatrist, she left her second period class at Santa Rosa High School, she got a taxi ride that cost a hundred and fifty dollar right up to the Golden Gate, got out of the taxi and jumped to her death. it was such a shock that even her own mother Renée Milligan had no idea why she did this as they were very close.
Two Survivors Ken Baldwin & Kevin Hines both say they hurdled over the railing, afraid that if they stood on the chord they might lose their courage. Baldwin was twenty eight and severely depressed on the August day in 1985 when he told his wife not to expect him home till late. “I wanted to disappear,” he said. “So the Golden Gate was the spot. I’d heard that the water just sweeps you under.” On the bridge, Baldwin counted to ten and stayed frozen. He counted to ten again, and then vaulted over. “I still see my hands coming off the railing,” he said. As he crossed the chord in flight, Baldwin recalls, “I instantly realized that everything in my life that I’d thought was unfixable was totally fixable—except for having just jumped.”
Kevin Hines was eighteen when he took a municipal bus to the bridge one day in September, 2000. After treating himself to a last meal of Starbursts and Skittles, he paced back and forth and sobbed on the bridge walkway for half an hour. No one asked him what was wrong. A beautiful German tourist approached, handed him her camera, and asked him to take her picture, which he did. “I was like, ‘Fuck this, nobody cares,’ ” he told me. “So I jumped.” But after he crossed the chord, he recalls, “My first thought was what the hell did I just do? I don’t want to die.”
Joseph Strauss, the chief engineer of the Golden Gate, watched his beloved suspension bridge rise over San Francisco Bay in the nineteen thirties, he could not imagine that anyone would use it without due care for its designated purpose.
