Mangalore

Mangalore(ⁱ/ˈmæŋɡəlɔːr/), officially known as Mangaluru, is the chief port city of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is known as Kudla in Tulu, Mangaluru in Kannada, Maikāla in Beary, Kodial in Canarese Konkani and Mangalapuram in Malayalam. It is located about 371 kilometres (230 mi) west of the state capital, Bangalore. Mangalore lies between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghat mountain ranges, and is the administrative headquarters of the Dakshina Kannada (formerly South Canara) district in south western Karnataka. With its pristine beaches, broad roads and calm localities, Mangalore was ranked the 8th cleanest city of India and 2nd of Karnataka. Mangalore is the 2nd least polluted city in India and the 1st in Karnataka according to CPCB. Mangalore was ranked India's 13th and Karnataka's 2nd best destination for business.

It developed as a port on the Arabian Sea—remaining, to this day, a major port of India. Lying on the backwaters of the Netravati and Gurupura rivers, Mangalore is often used as a staging point for sea traffic along the Malabar Coast. The city has a tropical climate and lies in the path of the Arabian Sea branch of the South-West monsoons. Mangalore's port handles 75 per cent of India's coffee and cashew exports.

Manorama News

Manorama News (also known as MM TV) is a Malayalam language news channel owned and operated by Malayala Manorama. The channel, based at Aroor Alleppey, was launched on 17 August 2006, which coincided with the Malayalam New Year. The channel was launched with the assistance of media consulting company Mediaguru Consultants Pvt. Ltd.

The thirty-minute simultaneous newscast of regional news, Nattuvartha, from three regions of Kerala, viz. Malabar region, Kochi Region and Travancore region was done for the first time in the country.

Johny Lukose is the News Director and he also anchors a programme "Nere Chove". Romy Mathew and Pramod Raman are the Coordinating Editors of the channel and heads the input and output functions respectively.

Huccha Venkat

Venkataram Laxman, popularly known as Huccha Venkat, is an Indian film actor, director, producer, screenwriter, lyricist working in Kannada cinema.

Personal life

Venkat was born in Bangalore into Kannada-speaking family of Vokkaligas, M. Laxman and Gowramma. He enrolled in higher education and sought a Diploma in civil engineering, but failed to complete his coursework. In 2007, he married his live-in girlfriend Reshma, whom he met while working on the film Swathanthra Palya. They separated after three years.

Career

Venkat made his acting debut playing a supporting role in the 2005 Kannada film Mental Manja. His next role was as the lead in the 2009 film Swathanthra Palya, which he also directed. In his 2014 Huccha Venkat that he directed and produced, he starred as the eponymous lead, which received negative reviews.

Venkat has since appeared as a guest in television shows such as Bengaluru Benne Dose and Divided. In October 2015 he appeared as a contestant on the reality television series Bigg Boss Kannada 3 aired on Colors Kannada. While on the show Venkat clashed with other participants, primarily due to his insistence that his female contestants were dressing inappropriately. This eventually led to his eviction from the house after he assaulted another contestant, Ravi Mooruru for insulting Huccha Venkat Sene. Venkat also challenged Sudeep, later withdrew the challenge and didn't want to talk to Sudeep ever. Ravi Mooruru praised Venkat, his post eviction from Bigg Boss Kannada 3 house for Venkat's concern towards women.
