Swedes (Swedish: svenskar) are a Germanic ethnic group native to Sweden, mostly inhabiting Sweden and the other Nordic countries, with descendants living in a number of countries.
The English term "Swede" has been attested in English since the late 16th century and is of Middle Dutch or Middle Low German origin. In Swedish, the term is svensk, which is believed to have been derived from the name of svear (or Swedes), the people who inhabited Svealand in eastern central Sweden. The most popular theory is that svear are the same as the Suiones described in Tacitus' history Germania from the 1st century AD. The term is believed to have been derived from the Proto-Indo-European reflexive pronominal root, *s(w)e, as the Latin suus. The word must have meant "one's own (tribesmen)". The same root and original meaning is found in the ethnonym of the Germanic tribe Suebi, preserved to this day in the name Schwaben.
Sweden enters proto-history with the Germania of Tacitus in AD 98. In Germania 44, 45 he mentions the Swedes (Suiones) as a powerful tribe (distinguished not merely for their arms and men, but for their powerful fleets) with ships that had a prow in both ends (longships). Which kings (kuningaz) ruled these Suiones is unknown, but Norse mythology presents a long line of legendary and semi-legendary kings going back to the last centuries BC. As for literacy in Sweden itself, the runic script was in use among the south Scandinavian elite by at least the 2nd century AD, but all that has survived from the Roman Period is curt inscriptions on artefacts, mainly of male names, demonstrating that the people of south Scandinavia spoke Proto-Norse at the time, a language ancestral to Swedish and other North Germanic languages.
Alicia Amanda Vikander (Swedish pronunciation: [aˈliːsɪa aˈmanda vɪˈkandər]; born 3 October 1988) is a Swedish actress and dancer. Her breakthrough earned her a nomination for the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2013 and the same year, she starred in the Julian Assange-biopic The Fifth Estate.
In 2015, Vikander garnered widespread recognition for for such starring roles as Vera Brittain in Testament of Youth, for which she was nominated for a British Independent Film Award for Best Actress, Ava in Ex Machina, for which she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress - Motion Picture and the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and Gerda Wegener in The Danish Girl, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Motion Picture Drama, and a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, and was awarded the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Supporting Actress and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role. Here are 10 things Swedes do better than Americans. Sweden has given the world a lot to be happy about, from Absolut vodka to the supergroup Abba, but they’re also at the forefront of more serious matters, like the environment, industry, and the business of living. Learn how to grow your own swede with this video tutoril from Quickcrop with expert vegetable grower Klaus Laitenberger. Swede is one of the easiest vegetables to grow and is well-suited to the novice gardener. They also crop over a very long time. This is because they can be left in the soil throughout the winter. Swede is often confused with turnips but they have several advantages over the turnip. Firstly, they crop much later in the season and swede is well capable of withstanding very hard frosts. In addition, the swede is sweeter and milder. More information on growing swede: https://www.quickcrop.ie/learning/plant/swede https://www.quickcrop.co.uk/learning/plant/swede

While the Magnolia is in full bloom, this is a step-by-step peek into the clay-tinted world of Karin Eriksson. Her beautiful pottery, deceitfully simple, is even more admirable when all the stages of the process come to light. We've captured the five day production cycle carefully – and still had to leave out parts. And, yes, we cheated. Karin prepared all the stages beforehand (which to us was even more impressive) to lead us through it in a single day. Karin’s inspiring workshop doubles as a retail space – a must stop if you're in town. Sanna & Oscar, the Homegrown Swedes

a swede about the wizard of oz
Twisted mind, twisted Face
There's no rest, endless Race
It's too late to save your Face
From the twisted sons of Hate
In your brain, the vein of Pain
Causes you to twist your Face
Velocity, accelerate
Pressure builds, burning Strain
Mirror skiing for the answer
Your face a twisted Mess
Speeding faster, never Slowing
You know there's no rest
Feel the Rush, urgency
Methamphetamine, can't be Freed
Feel your Heart beat faster faster
Never ending Thrust
Feel your Skull begin to Crush
Your Brain turns into Mush
Crank it up, smell the Rage
Locked within, Cage of Death
Can't slow down, no time to Rest
No way to end this Chase
Your twisted Face, your burning Nose
You die a fucking Disgrace
Twisted Mind, Twisted Face
There's no rest, endless Race
It's too late to save your Face
From the twisted Sons of Hate
In your Brain, the Vein of Pain
Causes you to twist your Face
Velocity, Accelerate
Pressure builds, burning Strain
Mirror skiing for the Answer
Your face a twisted Mess
Speeding faster, never slowing
You know there's no Rest
Twisted Face
