David Nadien (Armenian Դավիթ Նադյան) (March 12, 1926 – May 28, 2014) was an American violinist and violin teacher . He was concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic from 1966 to 1970. His playing style has been compared to that of Jascha Heifetz.
David Nadien was born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 12, 1926, the son of Armenian-American George and Bertha Nadien. He started learning violin with his father, then entered the Mannes School of Music; he also studied at the Juilliard School. His teachers included Adolfo Betti, Adolf Busch and Ivan Galamian. When he was 18 he was drafted into the US Army, and played with the Army Service Forces Orchestra.
He made his first concert appearance with the New York Philharmonic at the age of 14, and at the age of 20 won the Leventritt Award.
He worked mainly as a studio musician until in 1966 he was selected by Leonard Bernstein to replace John Corigliano Sr. as concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic, although he had little experience of orchestral playing. He left the post in 1970 and resumed studio work. As a violin teacher, he worked at the Mannes College of Music.
David (/ˈdeɪvɪd/; Hebrew: דָּוִד, Modern David, Tiberian Dāwîḏ;ISO 259-3 Dawid; Arabic: داوُد Dāwūd; Syriac: ܕܘܝܕ Dawid; Ancient Greek: Δαυίδ; Latin: Davidus, David; Strong's: Daveed) was, according to the Books of Samuel, the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel, and according to the New Testament, an ancestor of Jesus. His life is conventionally dated to c. 1040 – 970 BCE, his reign over Judah c. 1010–970 BCE.
The Books of Samuel, 1 Kings, and 1 Chronicles are the only Old Testament sources of information on David, although the Tel Dan Stele (dated c. 850–835 BCE) contains the phrase בית דוד (bytdwd), read as "House of David", which many scholars confirm to be a likely plausible match to the existence in the mid-9th century BCE of a Judean royal dynasty called the House of David.
Depicted as a valorous warrior of great renown, and a poet and musician credited for composing much of the psalms contained in the Book of Psalms, King David is widely viewed as a righteous and effective king in battle and civil justice. He is described as a man after God's own heart in 1 Samuel 13:14 and Acts 13:22.
The New York Philharmonic, officially the Philharmonic-Symphony Society of New York, Inc., globally known as New York Philharmonic Orchestra (NYPO) or New York Philharmonic-Symphony Orchestra, is a symphony orchestra based in New York City in the United States. It is one of the leading American orchestras popularly referred to as the "Big Five". The Philharmonic's home is David Geffen Hall, formerly known as Avery Fisher Hall until September 2015, located in New York's Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
Organized in 1842, the orchestra is one of America's oldest musical institutions. Its record-setting 14,000th concert was given in December 2004.
The Philharmonic's Music Director is Alan Gilbert. Appointed in 2009, Gilbert plans to leave the directorship in 2017, prior to a major renovation planned for David Geffen Hall.Jaap van Zweden has been appointed to succeed Mr. Gilbert in 2017. Matthew VanBesien is the orchestra's President.
New York is a state in the Northeastern United States and is the United States' 27th-most extensive, fourth-most populous, and seventh-most densely populated state. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south and Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border in the Atlantic Ocean with Rhode Island, east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Quebec to the north and Ontario to the west and north. The state of New York, with an estimated 19.8 million residents in 2015, is often referred to as New York State to distinguish it from New York City, the state's most populous city and its economic hub.
With an estimated population of nearly 8.5 million in 2014, New York City is the most populous city in the United States and the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. The New York City Metropolitan Area is one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. New York City is a global city, exerting a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace defining the term New York minute. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York City is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world, as well as the world's most economically powerful city. New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.

Leonard Bernstein (/ˈbɜːrnstaɪn/; August 25, 1918 – October 14, 1990) was an American composer, conductor, author, music lecturer, and pianist. He was among the first conductors born and educated in the US to receive worldwide acclaim. According to music critic Donal Henahan, he was "one of the most prodigiously talented and successful musicians in American history."
His fame derived from his long tenure as the music director of the New York Philharmonic, from his conducting of concerts with most of the world's leading orchestras, and from his music for West Side Story, Peter Pan,Candide, Wonderful Town, On the Town, On The Waterfront, his Mass, and a range of other compositions, including three symphonies and many shorter chamber and solo works.
Bernstein was the first conductor to give numerous television lectures on classical music, starting in 1954 and continuing until his death. He was a skilled pianist, often conducting piano concertos from the keyboard.

The most distinguished violin version of Schubert's Ave Maria (as arranged by Wilhelmj) was no doubt Jascha Heifetz's version. However, in my opinion, this 1965 rendition played by David Nadien would almost match Heifetz's. Piano accompaniment played by Boris Barere.
Unbelievable articulation and sound

Eumir Deodato - Prelude,"Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001)" 1973 Prelude is the eighth studio album by Brazilian keyboardist Eumir Deodato, released in 1973. With the signature track "Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001)" (an arrangement of the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey), Prelude would be the biggest hit Deodato and CTI Records ever had. The album features guitarist John Tropea on three tracks, bassists Ron Carter and Stanley Clarke, and Billy Cobham on drums. The funk-influenced version of the "Introduction" from Richard Strauss's Also sprach Zarathustra, entitled "Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001)", won the 1974 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance and went to number two in the pop charts in the US, number three in Canada, and number seven in the UK. @ David Barnave 2013

My favorite documentary about Ivry. "He is a legend, even among other violinists and has been at the top of his profession for over 60 years. Probably the last of a great tradition, he is both our link to the past and our guide for the future. For most musicians, he is THE violinist. Has appeared in films with The Rolling Stones and Isabelle Adjani. He has jammed with John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Oscar Peterson, Dizzy Gillespie, Marcel Marceau and Stephane Grappelli. Today , he enjoys improvising with Youssou N'Dour and with his sons' rock `n' roll band, Enhancer. His recordings of the concertos by Stravinsky , Paganini, Tchaikovsky and Alban Berg (which won the Grand Prix du Disque) are reckoned to be among the definitive accounts of these works. His CD of the Bartok Concerto was voted Bes...

Entre el F.I. (Falso Inicio), el F.F. (Falso Final) y el F.I. * ¿Cómo distinguiremos el F.I. del F.I.? Por el contexto. @NaideSabeNada http://twitter.com/NaideSabeNada Info, podcasts, videos: http://nadiesabenada.elterrat.com Para venir de público: https://publico.elterrat.com/na...
