Burroughs may refer to:
William Seward Burroughs II (/ˈbʌroʊz/; also known by his pen name William Lee; February 5, 1914 – August 2, 1997) was an American novelist, short story writer, satirist, essayist, painter, and spoken word performer. A primary figure of the Beat Generation and a major postmodernist author who wrote in the paranoid fiction genre, he is considered to be "one of the most politically trenchant, culturally influential, and innovative artists of the 20th century". His influence is considered to have affected a range of popular culture as well as literature. Burroughs wrote eighteen novels and novellas, six collections of short stories and four collections of essays. Five books have been published of his interviews and correspondences. He also collaborated on projects and recordings with numerous performers and musicians, and made many appearances in films.
He was born into a wealthy family in St. Louis, Missouri, grandson of the inventor and founder of the Burroughs Corporation, William Seward Burroughs I, and nephew of public relations manager Ivy Lee. Burroughs began writing essays and journals in early adolescence, but did not begin publicizing his writing until his thirties. He left home in 1932 to attend Harvard University, studied English, and anthropology as a postgraduate, and later attended medical school in Vienna. In 1942 Burroughs enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve during World War II, but was turned down by the Office of Strategic Services and Navy, after which he picked up the drug addiction that affected him for the rest of his life, while working a variety of jobs. In 1943 while living in New York City, he befriended Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac, the mutually influential foundation of which grew into the Beat Generation, which was later a defining influence on the 1960s counterculture.

Jordan Burroughs (born July 8, 1988) is an American world and Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling.
In a 2013 interview, when Burroughs was asked when he started wrestling, he explained:
Burroughs wrestled for Winslow Township High School, where he was a state champion and a senior national champion.
Burroughs was a four-year starter for the University of Nebraska. At Nebraska, Burroughs was a three-time All American, and two-time undefeated national champion.
As a freshman, Burroughs qualified for the NCAA tournament at 149 pounds. His sophomore year, Burroughs again competed at 149 pounds where he earned a 3rd place All-American finish. For his junior season, Burroughs moved up to 157 pounds, and became an undefeated national champion. Following an injury that took him out of competition for a year, Burroughs moved up again, this time to 165 pounds. At 165 pounds, he repeated as an undefeated national champion.
Following his senior year, Burroughs won the Hodge Trophy, awarded each year by WIN Magazine to the nation's most dominant wrestler. Burroughs finished his career with a 128-30 overall record, for the fifth-most wins in Nebraska history.
Suicide Season is the second studio album by British rock band Bring Me the Horizon. It was released on 29 September 2008 in the United Kingdom and Europe through Visible Noise. The band signed a licensing deal with Epitaph Records on 11 September 2008, with the label releasing the album on 18 November 2008 in the United States.
The album shows a major change musically from their previous releases, abandoning their original deathcore sound. This would also be the last album to feature Curtis Ward on rhythm guitar. The band later released a two disc special edition of Suicide Season which features various musicians and producers remixing tracks off the album, entitled Suicide Season: Cut Up! This was released on 2 November 2009 in the United Kingdom through Visible Noise and on 12 April 2010 in the United States through Epitaph.
Suicide Season spawned three singles ("Chelsea Smile", "Diamonds Aren't Forever" and "The Sadness Will Never End"). The album debuted on the charts of five countries. Critically the album received a mixed response. Though praised from the musical shift from the style of 2006's Count Your Blessings, the album was criticised for its song writing and musical aesthetics.

William Burroughs: Advice for Young People
Audio recording of a lecture & writing class with Q & A with students at Naropa University. Poet Allen Ginsberg is also in the audience. Burroughs covers topics including paranormal phenomena, magic, synchronicity, precognition, dreams, his cut-ups technique for writing, & he answers many questions from students & from Ginsberg in a Q & A. He reads from some of his fiction & non-fiction writings. The woman who asks many questions near the end & thanks him at the end I believe is Anne Waldman of Naropa U. I've since uploaded another Naropa Burroughs lecture entitled "William S. Burroughs lecture,July 20,1976,on paranormal,EVP,text+tape cut-ups,prognostication": http://youtu.be/xKfS1xemH6U And an entertaining short (9 min.) I was 18 she was 45
I met her in some sleazy dive
I bought her a drink, she bought me five
She tells me that she lives nearby
She has this (?) look in her eyes
I say ok, let's go there now
Oh yeah, oh wow, so good, oh yeah
(I'm in love with the forty and above)
Oh yeah, oh wow, oh please, oh yeah
(I'm in love with the forty and above)
She tells me that she has a friend
And that she's into younger men
I say ok, let's call her then
Oh yeah, oh wow, so good, oh yeah
(I'm in love with the forty and above)
Oh yeah, oh wow, oh please, oh yeah
(I'm in love with the forty and above)
I'm in love
Oh yeah, oh wow, so good, oh yeah
(I'm in love with the forty and above)
Oh yeah, oh wow, oh please, oh yeah
(I'm in love with the forty and above)
Oh yeah, oh wow, don't talk, oh yeah
Oh yeah, oh wow, so good, don't stop,
Oh yeah, oh wow, so good, don't stop
Oh yeah, oh wow, so good, oh yeah
