Lawrence "Bud" Freeman (April 13, 1906 – March 15, 1991) was an American jazz musician, bandleader, and composer, known mainly for playing the tenor saxophone, but also able at the clarinet. He had a smooth and full tenor sax style with a heavy robust swing. He was one of the most influential and important jazz tenor saxophonists of the big band era. His major recordings were "The Eel", "Tillie's Downtown Now", "Crazeology", "The Buzzard", and "After Awhile", composed with Benny Goodman.
One of the original members of the Austin High School Gang which began in 1922, Freeman played the C melody saxophone alongside his other band members such as Jimmy McPartland and Frank Teschemacher before switching to tenor saxophone two years later. Influenced by artists like the New Orleans Rhythm Kings and Louis Armstrong from the South, they would begin to formulate their own style, becoming part of the emerging Chicago Style of jazz.
In 1927, he moved to New York, where he worked as a session musician and band member with Red Nichols, Roger Wolfe Kahn, Ben Pollack, Joe Venuti, among others. One of his most notable performances was a solo on Eddie Condon's 1933 recording, The Eel, which then became Freeman's nickname (for his long snake-like improvisations). Freeman played with Tommy Dorsey's Orchestra (1936–1938) as well as for a short time Benny Goodman's band in 1938 before forming his own band, the Summa Cum Laude Orchestra (1939–1940). Freeman joined the US Army during World War II, and headed a US Army band in the Aleutian Islands.

Weldon Leo "Jack" Teagarden (August 20, 1905 – January 15, 1964), known as "Big T" and "The Swingin' Gate", was an American jazz trombonist, bandleader, composer, and vocalist, regarded as the "Father of Jazz Trombone".
Born in Vernon, Texas, his brothers Charlie and Clois "Cub" and his sister Norma also became noted professional musicians. Teagarden's father was an amateur brass band trumpeter and started young Jack on baritone horn; by age seven he had switched to trombone. His first public performances were in movie theaters, where he accompanied his mother, a pianist.
Teagarden's trombone style was largely self-taught, and he developed many unusual alternative positions and novel special effects on the instrument. He is usually considered the most innovative jazz trombone stylist of the pre-bebop era – Pee Wee Russell once called him "the best trombone player in the world" – and did much to expand the role of the instrument beyond the old tailgate style role of the early New Orleans brass bands. Chief among his contributions to the language of jazz trombonists was his ability to interject the blues or merely a "blue feeling" into virtually any piece of music.
Albert Edwin Condon (November 16, 1905 – August 4, 1973), better known as Eddie Condon, was a jazz banjoist, guitarist, and bandleader. A leading figure in the so-called "Chicago school" of early Dixieland, he also played piano and sang on occasion.
Condon was born in Goodland, Indiana, the son of John and Margaret (née McGraw) Condon. He grew up in Momence, Illinois, and Chicago Heights, Illinois, where he attended St. Agnes and Bloom High School. After some time playing ukulele, he switched to banjo and was a professional musician by 1921. He was based in Chicago for most of the 1920s, and played with such jazz notables as Bix Beiderbecke, Jack Teagarden and Frank Teschemacher.
In 1928, Condon moved to New York City. He frequently arranged jazz sessions for various record labels, sometimes playing with the artists he brought to the recording studios, including Louis Armstrong and Fats Waller. He organised racially integrated recording sessions – when these were still rare – with Waller, Armstrong and Henry 'Red' Allen. He played with the band of Red Nichols for a time. Later, from 1938 he had a long association with Milt Gabler's Commodore Records.

Tea for Two Freeman Bud 1978 Featuring tenor saxophonist Bud Freeman during the 1978 Nice Jazz Festival in France. Please note the incredibly creative piano playing behind Bud by Dick Hyman. Even though it appeared that in the later days of the World's Greatest Jazz Band ( They started in the early sixties) the band played with many substitutes but one can almost not imagine a better rhythm group here with Dick, Bob Haggart on bass and Bobby Rosengarden on drums

An interview with jazz pianist and composer Russ Freeman for the 2001 documentary, "Jazz Seen: The Life and Times of William Claxton." Russ talks about Claxton's photographic work, Chet Baker, Charlie Parker, Art Pepper, and heroin use among jazz musicians during the 1950s. (I'm Russ' daughter, and the photo on his piano of a long-haired blonde girl is a younger version of me.)

I've never seen such a smile before
The beauty in your eyes
Burning light like a fire, brown eyes
How you danced with me so carefully
'Cause the way you feel tonight
Might loose it's strength till there's no
Way back, brown eyes
You know that you move me babe
Whatever you do
The way that you touched me darling
Whenever you're near
I know your brown eyes won't let me down
Lost in your brown eyes forever
Those pretty brown eyes they tell it all
It's those brown eyes right from the start
Don't say a word there's no need to talk
Hear the wind blow in the night
Capturing our moment, brown eyes
You know that you move me babe
Whatever you do
The way that you touched me darling
Whenever you're near
Those pretty brown eyes they tell it all
It's those brown eyes right from the start
You know that you move me babe
Whatever you do
