My very first trip on the Mumbai Suburban Harbour Line from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) to Andheri. Onboard the 9:01 AM Andheri local from CST.
A picturesque ride along the elevated route from Sandhurst Road to Sewri including the unique elevated Sandhurst Road station with its tracks laid on a metal bridge.
Unlike most suburban stations which are straight, the harbour line contains some beautifully curved stations like at Cotton Green and Sandhurst Road.

Have You Experienced Mumbai Metro Yet? How was it?
The Mumbai Metro - a gift that Mumbaikars, as citizens of this vibrant, ever on the move city deserved a long, long time ago - is finally here. After years of hurdles and red tapisms, I was elated to learn that the Mumbai Metro was finally starting on June 8, 2014.
I quickly decided I will document my first trip aboard the Mumbai Metro when I travel on it the very first day of its inauguration
This video is of the historic day that all Mumbaikars of today and the future will talk about with pride.. and I have all those moments captured.
The video starts with the morning of June 8, 2014 at my home town in Palghar, Maharashtra - a far flung suburb of Mumbai. I take an express train to arrive at Andheri from where I take my first ever Mumbai Metro from Andheri to Ghatkopar.
This video shows what all happened in that all-important first trip.
This is my first attempt to do this kind of video editing and I am sure you will see the amateurishness of it all.. But hey, that doesn't matter, right!

Andheri
Andheri is a suburb or 'Taluka' of Mumbai, situated in the west of the city on the Salsette Island. Andheri derives its name from a small hill called 'Udayanagari' located close to Mahakali Caves. Like many other localities in Mumbai, the railway line divides Andheri into two parts – east and west.
It is a residential cum commercial area of the city of Mumbai. It has a population of 1,500,000 and is the largest suburb of Mumbai and the third largest Taluka of Mumbai by area. In the mid twentieth century, Andheri was known for its various movie studios, which have since been relocated northwards towards Goregaon Film City. Sher-e-Punjab Housing Society is the single largest co-operative residential housing society in Mumbai with 1,251 members.
The Andheri railway station is the among the busiest railway stations in the country and also on the Western Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway and the expansion of the metro in the Versova-Anderi-Ghatkopar corridor is part of the government's master transportation plan.

Sathya Sai Baba
Sathya Sai Baba (born Sathya Narayana Raju; 23 November 1926 – 24 April 2011) was an Indian guru, and philanthropist. He claimed to be the reincarnation of Sai Baba of Shirdi.
Sai Baba's materialisations of vibhuti (holy ash) and other small objects such as rings, necklaces, and watches, along with reports of miraculous healings, resurrections, clairvoyance, bilocation, and alleged omnipotence and omniscience, were a source of both fame and controversy. His devotees considered them signs of his divinity, while sceptics viewed them as simple conjuring tricks. He further faced accusations over the years of sexual abuse and fraud, which he rejected as smear campaigns.
The Sathya Sai Organisation, founded by Sathya Sai Baba "to enable its members to undertake service activities as a means to spiritual advancement", has over 1,200 Sathya Sai Centres (branches) in 126 countries. Through this organisation, Sathya Sai Baba established a network of free hospitals, clinics, drinking water projects, auditoriums, ashrams and schools.

Mumbai Metro
Mumbai Metro is a rapid transit system serving the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra. The system is designed to reduce traffic congestion in the city, and supplement the overcrowded Mumbai Suburban Railway network. It will be built in three phases over a 15-year period, with overall completion expected in 2021. When complete, the core system will comprise three high-capacity metro railway lines, spanning a total of 63 kilometres (39 mi). Line 1 of the Mumbai Metro is operated by Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MOOPL), a joint venture company formed by RATP Développement, Transdev and Reliance Infrastructure, under a 35-year contract. MOOPL operates under the control of Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL), formed by Reliance and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
In June 2006, then-Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh laid the foundation stone for the first phase of the Mumbai Metro project. Construction work began in February 2008. A successful trial run was conducted in May 2013, and the system's first line entered operation on 8 June 2014, though some aspects of the project were afflicted by delays and cost issues.

Part 3 (KC and the Sunshine Band album)
Part 3 is the fourth studio album by the funk and disco group KC and the Sunshine Band. The album was produced by Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch and was released in October 1976 on the TK label.
History
Part 3 contains three of the band's biggest hits, "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty", "I'm Your Boogie Man", and "Keep It Comin' Love". The first two reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 while the third peaked at number two. Two other singles, "I Like to Do It" and "Wrap Your Arms Around Me" found moderate success on the charts. The album was remastered and reissued in 2006 by Collector's Choice Music.

Shri Nimish Pandya, District President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Mumbai, said that never in the history of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Mumbai was such a program held. He added that this program is not a celebration but " A Tribute " to the Divine Persona of Shri Sathya Sai Baba. Today's age is the age when man and nature have drawn battlelines against each other. It is the agitation between man and nature which needs to be calmed. Namasmarana, a simple thing, can lead to peace pf mind, divinity and removes ashanti. It can lead to peace and shanti. It is a privilege of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations of Maharashtra and Goa to participate in this Namasmarana program. This program will be taken to all cities and to all schools and colleges in Mumbai. The Governor of Maharashtra, His Excellency Shri S M Krishna also addressed the huge gathering along with Dr. Keki Mistry, Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Trust. The Governor of Maharashtra, His Excellency Shri S M Krishna said that because of our good deeds in the previous births that we are enjoying the blessings of Bhagavan Baba. This program fell on the 85th birthday of Shri Indulal Shah and he was duly felicitated and honoured. Shri Indulal Shah and Smt Sarlaben Shah were present on stage and Dr. Keki Mistry , Trustee - Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Maharashtra, read out the citation. Sri Sathya Sai Organisation is the world's largest spiritual organisation involved in seva (service) and spiritual upliftment. A number of 18 projects are already been sanctioned by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Maharashtra, during the year like establishment of Sarva Dharma Stupa, Books Exhibition etc (details can be viewed at http://om-namo.tripod.com/Nama/80-1.htm) The Audios and CD Cassettes on Namasmarana were released by Shri Ashok Chavan and Shri D Y Patil respectively. A book on Namasmarana was released by the Governor's wife. This was followed by a laser show and the entire stadium watched the magnificence of the lights synchronising with the background of the audio sound. A visual show on Bhagavan and his mission were also shown. Fireworks in the open skies were also added to the mystique of the night. Shri Nimish Pandya also spoke about the Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Program and mentioned that what was unique about the program was that it is the children who influence parents and lead them on the Sai path. Smt. Arushi Deepak Pandit and Shri Deepak Pandit a model parent were called up on the stage and it was heartening to know that Shri Deepak Pandit would be shooting a mega film on spirituality called "Sai - The God Within". In short the film will convey the universal value of love and it will depict the three avatars - Shirdi Sai (Past), Sathya Sai (Present) and Prema Sai (Future) with their power of love - the magical touch. The program is backed by a dedicated team and a thorough research. The trend of the film will range from the past to the contemporary. It will be shot on real locations, and the film will not only try to be authentic but also have that earthen touch. The musical score of the film signifying peace will have an universal appeal. "Sai- The God Within" is worth the making and worth the wait Scintillating music by Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma on his santoor, bhajans Begum Parween Sultana, Suchri Sadhana Sargam, Suchri Richa Sharma, Smt Padmaja Phenany-Joglekar, Shri Suresh Wadkar, Smt Kavita Krishnamurti and Shri Anup Jalota left a very deep impact on the audience. The Sai bhajans sung by them involved the huge gathering in the bhajan singing. Each of the celebrities received a memento from the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Maharashta. Have You Experienced Mumbai Metro Yet? How was it?
The Mumbai Metro - a gift that Mumbaikars, as citizens of this vibrant, ever on the move city deserved a long, long time ago - is finally here. After years of hurdles and red tapisms, I was elated to learn that the Mumbai Metro was finally starting on June 8, 2014.
I quickly decided I will document my first trip aboard the Mumbai Metro when I travel on it the very first day of its inauguration
This video is of the historic day that all Mumbaikars of today and the future will talk about with pride.. and I have all those moments captured.
The video starts with the morning of June 8, 2014 at my home town in Palghar, Maharashtra - a far flung suburb of Mumbai. I take an express train to arrive at Andheri from where I take my first ever Mumbai Metro from Andheri to Ghatkopar.
This video shows what all happened in that all-important first trip.
This is my first attempt to do this kind of video editing and I am sure you will see the amateurishness of it all.. But hey, that doesn't matter, right!

The Mumbai Metro - a gift that Mumbaikars, as citizens of this vibrant, ever on the move city deserved a long, long time ago - is finally here. After years of hurdles and red tapisms, I was elated to learn that the Mumbai Metro was finally starting on June 8, 2014.
I quickly decided I will document my first trip aboard the Mumbai Metro when I travel on it the very first day of its inauguration
This video is of the historic day that all Mumbaikars of today and the future will talk about with pride.. and I have all those moments captured.
The video starts with the morning of June 8, 2014 at my home town in Palghar, Maharashtra - a far flung suburb of Mumbai. I take an express train to arrive at Andheri from where I take my first ever Mumbai Metro from Andheri to Ghatkopar.
This video shows what all happened in that all-important first trip.
This is my first attempt to do this kind of video editing and I am sure you will see the amateurishness of it all.. But hey, that doesn't matter, right!

The Spiritual Renaissance
On the 80th year of Advent of the Avatar Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the program on "Sri Sathya Sai Namasmaran" left a deep impact on the thousands who gathered on the cool evening of the 29th of January, 2005. This program was held at the Andheri Sports Complex at 6.30 pm.
The program was graced by the Governor of Maharashtra, His Excellency. Shri S M Krishna, Shri Jayant Patil - Minister for Finance Government of Maharashtra, Shri Ashok Chavan - Industry Minister Government of Maharashtra, Ms Shailaja Patil, Shri D Y Patil Vice Chancellor of D Y Patil Deemed University, Shri Gokul a trust member, and The Little Master - Cricketer - Shri Sunil Gavaskar - India's best ever opening batsman.
The program commenced with the blowing of the conch and chants by Bal Vikas Children, introductory speeches by Shri Ramesh Thakkar -Trust Convenor Maharashtra and Shri Ramesh Sawant - State President Maharashtra.
Shri Nimish Pandya, District President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Mumbai, said that never in the history of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Mumbai was such a program held. He added that this program is not a celebration but " A Tribute " to the Divine Persona of Shri Sathya Sai Baba. Today's age is the age when man and nature have drawn battlelines against each other. It is the agitation between man and nature which needs to be calmed. Namasmarana, a simple thing, can lead to peace pf mind, divinity and removes ashanti. It can lead to peace and shanti. It is a privilege of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations of Maharashtra and Goa to participate in this Namasmarana program. This program will be taken to all cities and to all schools and colleges in Mumbai.
The Governor of Maharashtra, His Excellency Shri S M Krishna also addressed the huge gathering along with Dr. Keki Mistry, Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Trust. The Governor of Maharashtra, His Excellency Shri S M Krishna said that because of our good deeds in the previous births that we are enjoying the blessings of Bhagavan Baba.
This program fell on the 85th birthday of Shri Indulal Shah and he was duly felicitated and honoured. Shri Indulal Shah and Smt Sarlaben Shah were present on stage and Dr. Keki Mistry , Trustee - Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Maharashtra, read out the citation.
Sri Sathya Sai Organisation is the world's largest spiritual organisation involved in seva (service) and spiritual upliftment. A number of 18 projects are already been sanctioned by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Maharashtra, during the year like establishment of Sarva Dharma Stupa, Books Exhibition etc (details can be viewed at http://om-namo.tripod.com/Nama/80-1.htm)
The Audios and CD Cassettes on Namasmarana were released by Shri Ashok Chavan and Shri D Y Patil respectively. A book on Namasmarana was released by the Governor's wife.
This was followed by a laser show and the entire stadium watched the magnificence of the lights synchronising with the background of the audio sound.
A visual show on Bhagavan and his mission were also shown. Fireworks in the open skies were also added to the mystique of the night.
Shri Nimish Pandya also spoke about the Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Program and mentioned that what was unique about the program was that it is the children who influence parents and lead them on the Sai path. Smt. Arushi Deepak Pandit and Shri Deepak Pandit a model parent were called up on the stage and it was heartening to know that Shri Deepak Pandit would be shooting a mega film on spirituality called "Sai - The God Within".
In short the film will convey the universal value of love and it will depict the three avatars - Shirdi Sai (Past), Sathya Sai (Present) and Prema Sai (Future) with their power of love - the magical touch. The program is backed by a dedicated team and a thorough research. The trend of the film will range from the past to the contemporary. It will be shot on real locations, and the film will not only try to be authentic but also have that earthen touch. The musical score of the film signifying peace will have an universal appeal. "Sai- The God Within" is worth the making and worth the wait
Scintillating music by Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma on his santoor, bhajans Begum Parween Sultana, Suchri Sadhana Sargam, Suchri Richa Sharma, Smt Padmaja Phenany-Joglekar, Shri Suresh Wadkar, Smt Kavita Krishnamurti and Shri Anup Jalota left a very deep impact on the audience. The Sai bhajans sung by them involved the huge gathering in the bhajan singing.
Each of the celebrities received a memento from the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Maharashta. They were also presented a Sai Gold Picture by Shri Jatindar Shad who had come all the way from New Delhi on that day. (Details about SAIGOLD can be viewed at http://www.sailopics.com.)
Bhagavan Baba also sent Vibhuti Prasadam to the celebrities through Shri Indulal Shah who had returned from Parthi on that day.

Have You Experienced Mumbai Metro Yet? How was it?
The Mumbai Metro - a gift that Mumbaikars, as citizens of this vibrant, ever on the move city deserved a long, long time ago - is finally here. After years of hurdles and red tapisms, I was elated to learn that the Mumbai Metro was finally starting on June 8, 2014.
I quickly decided I will document my first trip aboard the Mumbai Metro when I travel on it the very first day of its inauguration
This video is of the historic day that all Mumbaikars of today and the future will talk about with pride.. and I have all those moments captured.
The video starts with the morning of June 8, 2014 at my home town in Palghar, Maharashtra - a far flung suburb of Mumbai. I take an express train to arrive at Andheri from where I take my first ever Mumbai Metro from Andheri to Ghatkopar.
This video shows what all happened in that all-important first trip.
This is my first attempt to do this kind of video editing and I am sure you will see the amateurishness of it all.. But hey, that doesn't matter, right!

Palate-pleasing Chole Bhature, Samosa Chaat, Paani Puri, Bhelpuri and Dahi Vada continue to be in great demand here at the Andheri branch. Clean, contemporary, with warm hued interiors, this open-through-the-day restaurant serves specialities like Spiced Roti, Sindhi Curry, Ajwain Paratha and Aloo Tuk, which should be sampled at least once. Though for a place that serves Sindhi cuisine, one may wonder - Where's Sai Bhaji and Dhingri Mutter? An anomaly! You can also order a wholesome Meal Box (dal, two veggies, rice, papad, salad and a sweet) if you're not in a snacky mood. Burfis, Ghewar (available during Holi) and Halwa are also decent. They offer outdoor catering and banquet facilities as well.
Overall, Kailash Parbat is a nice vegetarian restaurant, best for its chaat and North Indian fare and is a family restro in all aspects.

The café serves continental cuisine but they have very limited tables. They serve some really good food which includes their Prawns Paprika, Mushroom or Chicken Stroganoff, Lasagne, Sizzlers, etc. However this Quench outlet doesn’t serve alcohol which is a downer.
There are a few quirky posters lining the wall, a John Lennon painting which one would particularly remember, graffiti messages with bold colours, a chandelier made up of colored bottles and some good music in the background which lends a peppy feel to this place
