Kosuke Saito

Kosuke Saito (斉藤広祐, Saitō Kōsuke) (born December 17, 1983), is a DJ and music game composer. He is best known for his work in the Konami Bemani series. He has produced music under a number of different aliases, such as kors k, StripE, and teranoid.

Career

He was influenced early in his career by Tetsuya Komuro, and began to learn to play the synthesizer. Following the popularity of J-pop remixes, he became interested in club music.

Beginning with beatmania IIDX 11 RED, Saito started to use the teranoid name. He stated that he did not wish to be restricted to a certain style of music by his identity, so he used other names for different styles of music. Gradually, he revealed that he also used the names StripE and Eagle in recording songs.

Poseidon (fictional ship)

The S.S. Poseidon is a fictional trans-Atlantic liner that first appeared in the 1969 novel The Poseidon Adventure by Paul Gallico and later in four films based on the novel. The ship is named after the god of the seas in Greek mythology.

The original novel

In the 1969 novel, the steamdriven ship is traveling across the Atlantic on a month-long tour of African and South American ports, after its conversion from an ocean liner into a cruise ship. On December 26, the ship capsizes when a landslide on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge produces a huge tsunami. The description of the ship is slim, but in his novel, Gallico described it as a quadruple-screw ocean liner of 81,000 tons, as long as four city blocks, and as high as an apartment building. He also wrote that it had three "massive" funnels. But he also described it as having a fatal flaw: it "was riding high in the water, improperly ballasted and technically unseaworthy." This, he wrote, made it vulnerable to capsizing by tsunamis.

Carolyn Parmenter

Carolyn Parmenter is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe. She was created by John Byrne, and first appeared in Incredible Hulk #317 (Mar. 1986).

Carolyn Parmenter was a member of Bruce Banner's Hulkbusters, a team of highly skilled individuals selected to capture and study the Hulk. Carolyn was a marine scientist trained in the fields of biology, oceanics, scuba diving, and exploration.

Carolyn was the girlfriend of fellow Hulkbuster, Samuel LaRoquette. Carolyn was killed during a battle with Doc Samson.

Papa Jambo

Papa Jambo (Charles LeJeune), is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe. Papa Jambo was a very proficient and well-trained Voodoo Houngan from Haiti, skilled in magic who trained both Daniel Drumm and Jericho Drumm (Brother Voodoo and much later known as Doctor Voodoo; the Sorcerer Supreme). Jambo died after passing on his many years of knowledge onto Brother Voodoo, his successor to combat and defeat Damballah, a pawn of the Serpent God, Set, who came to Port-au-Prince to take control of the local communities.

Poseidon (horse)

Poseidon (19 August 1903 - 3 February 1930) was an Australian Thoroughbred Hall of Fame racehorse. He won 19 races over distances ranging from five furlongs to three miles. Sixteen of these wins were "Principal Races" (equivalent to today's "Black Type" races), eight of them now of Group 1 (G1) status.

As a three-year-old in 1906/07, Poseidon had 14 starts for 11 wins, including the Caulfield Cup (in race record time), Melbourne Cup, Victoria Derby and AJC Derby. In achieving this, Poseidon became the first horse to complete the Caulfield Cup-Melbourne Cup double. In winning the Caulfield Cup again the following year, he also became the first horse to win consecutive Caulfield Cups.

Early history

Poseidon was foaled on 19 August 1903 at R H Dangar's Neotsfield Stud in NSW. He was from the fifth crop of his sire Positano (GB) and was the fifth foal of his dam Jacinth, a daughter of Martini-Henry (NZ), winner of 1883 VRC Melbourne Cup. Positano, a son of the great St. Simon, was unplaced in his seven starts in England, although he was placed second in the Ascot Derby. After he was imported into Australia he won three races from 12 starts. Jacinth won five races and was the dam of 11 foals, seven of whom raced for five moderate winners, aside from Poseidon.

DJ mix

A DJ mix or DJ mixset is a sequence of musical tracks typically mixed together to appear as one continuous track. DJ mixes are usually performed using a DJ mixer and multiple sounds sources, such as turntables, CD players, digital audio players or computer sound cards, sometimes with the addition of samplers and effects units, although it's possible to create one using sound editing software.

DJ mixing is significantly different from live sound mixing. Remix services were offered beginning in the late 1970s in order to provide music which was more easily beatmixed by DJs for the dancefloor. One of the earliest DJs to refine their mixing skills was DJ Kool Herc.Francis Grasso was the first DJ to use headphones and a basic form of mixing at the New York nightclub Sanctuary. Upon its release in 2000, Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Presents: Another World became the biggest selling dj mix album in the US.

Music

A DJ mix is often put together with music from genres that fit into the more general term electronic dance music. Other genres mixed by DJ includes hip hop, breakbeat and disco. Four on the floor disco beats can be used to create seamless mixes so as to keep dancers locked to the dancefloor. Two of main characteristics of music used in dj mixes is a dominant bassline and repetitive beats. Music mixed by djs usually has a tempo which ranges from 120 bpm up to 160 bpm.

Mix (Stellar album)

Mix is the debut studio album by New Zealand Pop rock band Stellar, released by Sony BMG on 29 July 1999. The album debuted at #2 on the RIANZ albums chart, and after seven weeks within the top 10 would finally reach the #1 position. The album would spend a whole 18 weeks within the top 10 on the charts. The album was certified 5x platinum, meaning that it had sold over 75,000 copies in New Zealand.

The album was re-released on 18 February 2000 as a limited edition which included a new cover art and a bonus CD-rom that included the music videos for the singles "Part of Me", "Violent" and "Every Girl" as well as three remixes (these had appeared on previous singles) and an 8-minute documentary. Even after the limited edition's run had finished, all subsequent pressings of the album would feature the new cover.

Mix became the 22nd best-selling album in 2000 in New Zealand. At the New Zealand Music Awards in 2000, Mix won the Album of the Year award.
