Thomasina Miers, often known as Tommi Miers, was the winner of BBC2's MasterChef 2005.

The Masterchef win proved a catalyst for Tommi Miers's successful career in food and the media.

Miers went on to chef with Skye Gyngell at the Petersham Cafe at Petersham Nurseries.

In 2007, Tommi Miers appeared with Guy Grieve in Channel 4's The Wild Gourmets, where they tried to travel from Land's End to John O'Groats without spending money but live instead off the land whilst eating well.

In March 2008, Miers and Grieve teamed up again to present A Cook's Tour of Spain on Channel 4.

Tommi Miers's parents, who lived in West London, loved cooking.

An interview with Thomasina Miers in The Times revealed that her grandmother was a model who married Pat Fairfield, the Formula One driver and that her mother also modelled for a bit as did Tommi herself when she was 14.

Her first book was Soup Kitchen, which she co-edited with Annabel Buckingham, whom she worked with at Villandry. The profits went to the homeless.

Soup Kitchen was a collection of 100 original soup recipes from the likes of Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay.

Tommi Miers's book, Cook, has her own recipes. She also writes a column for the Body and Soul section of The Times.

She is also the founder of the restaurant chain Wahaca.

Thomasina speaks Spanish, French and Portuguese.
