Davis station (California)

Davis, formerly known as Davisville, is a train station in Davis, California. It was built by the California Pacific Railroad between August 24 and November 15, 1868, connecting Davis to Washington (now part of West Sacramento) to the east, Vallejo to the southwest, and Marysville to the northeast via a wye at Davis to Woodland, where the line separated to go northwest to Redding via Tehama and northeast to Marysville via a drawbridge at Knights Landing. In 1871 the Cal-P (as it later was called) was taken over by the Central Pacific Railroad; a fire later burned down the 19th century-style station. In 1914 the Central Pacific built a second depot, which was remodeled in 1986. The depot was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Of the 74 California stations served by Amtrak, Davis was the seventh-busiest in FY2012, boarding or detraining an average of about 1220 passengers daily.

Ownership

Today, the depot is in use by Amtrak and is maintained by the City of Davis. Other ownership is the Union Pacific Railroad.

Stargate Command personnel

The Stargate Command (SGC) is a fictional military base at the (real) Cheyenne Mountain complex near Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is the main setting in Stargate SG-1 and occasionally features on Stargate Atlantis. The base extends many levels beneath the ground and is protected from most forms of attack including indirect nuclear detonations, also serving to contain biological, chemical or alien hazards to the outside world by means of a 'lockdown' status. Stargate Command is typically commanded by a General and is staffed by subject matter experts and military support personnel, several elite special operations teams, and several SG teams, including SG-1. The majority of the teams are United States Air Force with some United States Marine Corps, civilians and United States Army, but other nations have SG teams operating from the SGC as well after the events of season 5.

Juan, also known as Pedro, is a street protester operating in Seattle, Washington, United States. He is known for yelling the same statements at the same location for over twenty years.

Identity and popularity

The Seattle Weekly says his name is "Juan".The Stranger says his name is "Pedro", although their newcomers' guide to Seattle refers to him simply as "the Frye Apartments Guy".

Juan is a Cuban refugee. News accounts place his age at 57 in 2001, and 60 in 2004. The protestor says he is not homeless; the public does not know where he lives and he occasionally appears at the Municipal building shelter. He is not on the streets to beg or busk and will usually turn down offers of money. He will also not accept food (because the police could have poisoned it).

He is so well known that journalists write of him in passing, assuming the readers know what they are talking about. Other people have even made products available; such as a drink coaster available from SeattleNotables.com, and on occasion vendors selling t-shirts to tourists include his picture. During a montage in the Bumfights series, Juan is seen being harassed by the film crew.

Suikoden III

Suikoden III (Japanese: 幻想水滸ä¼?III, Hepburn: GensÅ? Suikoden SurÄ«)  (listen)  is a role-playing video game developed and published by Konami for the Sony PlayStation 2 video game console, and the third installment in the Suikoden video game series. It was released in 2002 in Japan and North America, with a manga adaption published in 2004.

Like other games in the series, Suikoden III features an intricate, detailed setting. The game's story is presented through the "Trinity Sight System"; rather than having only one "hero", the plot is explored through three different viewpoints, allowing events to be seen from multiple sides. There are three struggling factions in Suikoden III, each with their own divisions and politics, and there is no unambiguous "right" side. Hugo of the Karaya Clan is a Grasslander, Chris Lightfellow is a Knight of the merchant nation of Zexen, and Geddoe is a member of the Harmonian Southern Frontier Defense Force, keeping watch for the huge nation of Harmonia on the Grasslands area.
