SECOND STAGE THEATER ANNOUNCES BROADWAY PRODUCTIONS AND COMMISSIONED PLAYWRIGHTS FOR STAGE-2-STAGE PROGRAM WITH CTG

Second Stage Theater has announced productions for its inaugural Broadway season at the historic Hayes Theater on Broadway. “Opening our new home on Broadway has been years in the making and I am beyond thrilled to begin this next phase in Second Stage’s life,” said Second Stage Founder and Artistic Director Carole Rothman. "The Hayes will be dedicated to living American playwrights: no British imports, no Chekhov translations, no classics – just contemporary works that provoke, stimulate and challenge from the finest playwrights our country has to offer." TONY AWARD WINNER REED BIRNEY TO STAR IN 'MAN FROM NEBRASKA'

2ST has announced that Tony Award winner Reed Birney (The Humans) will star in the leading role of Ken Carpenter in the upcoming New York premiere production of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tracy Lett’s 2003 play, MAN FROM NEBRASKA, directed by David Cromer. More info

2ST ANNOUNCES 3 NEW YORK PREMIERES FOR ITS UPCOMING 2016-17 SEASON

The season will kick off in October 2016 with the New York Premiere of NOTES FROM THE FIELD: DOING TIME IN EDUCATION, the latest work created, written and performed by groundbreaking theater artist Anna Deavere Smith and directed by Leonard Foglia. The season will continue in winter 2017 with the New York Premiere of Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winner Tracy Lett’s 2003 play, MAN FROM NEBRASKA, directed by David Cromer. Summer 2017 will see the New York Premiere of Bruce Norris’ A PARALLELOGRAM, directed by Michael Greif.
