A homily is a commentary that follows a reading of scripture. In Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran, and Eastern Orthodox Churches, a homily is usually given during Mass (Divine Liturgy for Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Churches, and Divine Service for the Lutheran Church) at the end of the Liturgy of the Word. Many people consider it synonymous with a sermon.
According to The Catholic Encyclopedia:
The General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM)
Contemporary Protestant clergy often use the term 'homily' to describe a short sermon, such as one created for a wedding or funeral.
In colloquial usage, homily often means a sermon concerning a practical matter, a moralizing lecture or admonition, or an inspirational saying or platitude.
North Texas (also commonly called North Central Texas, Northeastern Texas, and Nortex) is a term used primarily by residents of Dallas, Fort Worth, and surrounding areas to describe much of the northern portion of the U.S. state of Texas. Residents of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex generally consider North Texas to include the area south of Oklahoma, east of Abilene, and north of Waco. A more precise term for this region would be the northern part of the central portion of Texas. It does not include the Panhandle of Texas, which expands further north than the region previously described, nor does it include most of the region near the northern border of Texas.
North Texas is centered upon the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, the largest metropolitan area in Texas. People in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas sometimes use the terms "Metroplex" and "North Texas" interchangeably. However, North Texas refers to a much larger area that includes many rural counties.
Fort Worth is the 16th-largest city in the United States and the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas. The city is located in North Central Texas and covers nearly 350 square miles (910 km2) in Tarrant, Denton, Parker, and Wise counties—serving as the seat for Tarrant County. According to the 2014 census estimates, Fort Worth has a population of 812,238. The city is the second-largest in the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area (the "DFW Metroplex").
The city was established in 1849 as an Army outpost on a bluff overlooking the Trinity River. Today Fort Worth still embraces its Western heritage and traditional architecture and design.USS Fort Worth (LCS-3) is the first ship of the United States Navy named after the city.
Fort Worth is home to the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and several world-class museums. The Kimbell Art Museum, considered to have one of the best collections in Texas, is housed in what is widely regarded as one of Texas' foremost works of modern architecture designed by Louis Kahn and Renzo Piano. Also of note are the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, designed by Tadao Ando, and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, which houses one of the most extensive collections of American art in the world in a building designed by Philip Johnson. The city is also home to Texas Christian University, Texas Wesleyan University, University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas A&M University School of Law, and many multinational corporations including Bell Helicopter, Lockheed Martin, American Airlines, Pier 1 Imports, Radio Shack, and others.
The ministerial orders of the Roman Catholic Church are those of bishop, presbyter (more commonly called priest in English), and deacon. The ordained priesthood and the common priesthood (or priesthood of all the baptized faithful) are different in function and essence. The Catholic Church teaches that when a man participates in priesthood, he participates in the priesthood of Christ Himself. All men who, through the Sacrament of Holy Orders, have become priests participate in Christ's priesthood; they act in persona Christi Capitis, in the person of Christ, the Head of His Body, the Church.
Unlike usage in English, "the Latin words sacerdos and sacerdotium are used to refer in general to the ministerial priesthood shared by bishops and presbyters. The words presbyter, presbyterium and presbyteratus refer to priests in the English use of the word or presbyters." In late 2008, there were 409,166 Catholic priests of the Latin Church and the Eastern Catholic Churches worldwide. A priest of the regular clergy is commonly addressed with the title "Father", abbreviated Fr., in the Roman Catholic and some other Christian churches.

Visit http://catholicbrothersforchrist.com TODAY! Catholic Brothers For Christ 2015 North Texas Catholic Men's Conference at the Hurst Conference Center was amazing. Many men experienced a spiritual transformation and revival of their faith and hope. We were edified, encouraged and inspired by our great speakers: Bishop Michael Olson, Father Larry Richards and Tom Peterson. The fellowship was awesome. We all now have a new Band Of Brothers who will help us walk the difficult path of life with a greater experience of faith, hope and love. Father Larry Richards speech was titled "Spiritual exercises to prepare us for battle!" Growing in holiness is the key to being an effective spiritual warrior. He did not disappoint. Rev. James Korda Preaches on the 15 Sunday of Ordinary time on moving on after failure.
http://www.sacredheartprescott.com Fr. Daryl shares about his earliest childhood experiences with Easter, how a somewhat anti-Catholic Presbyterian became a Catholic Priest by "recognizing" Jesus in the Breaking of the Bread, and how our unique art at Sacred Heart Parish illustrates this Sunday's Gospel of Luke reading regarding the Resurrected Jesus coming through the wall of a locked room.
Fr. Larry Richards gives the final homily to the 2013 Annual Priest's Retreat at the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center. Here he points out that we need to have peace in our hearts even when we are experiencing conflict. This is the peace that the Lord gives which gives us the freedom to give ourselves as sacrifices in union with Him. Ave Maria! Fr. Ignatius on the installation of our new Archbishop of Indianapolis Abp. Charles Thompson. He reflects on the Archbishop's homily last night at the Solemn vespers where he mentions the last canon in Canon Law #1752 "the salvation of souls, which must always be the supreme law in the Church, is to be kept before one's eyes." Last things must be kept in mind when starting any endeavor. Ave Maria! J'irai là-bas
Comme on monte sur un toit
J'irai là-bas
Si je sais que tu es là...
J'irai vers toi
Sans gants, souliers, ni sherpa
J'irai vers toi
Himalaya !
J'irai là-bas
Malgré le froid ou la loi...
J'irai vers toi
Comme on va au combat
J'irai vers toi
Même si tous les chiens aboient...
J'irai là-bas
Himalaya
Roc d'amour
Le plus haut de la vie
Sommet blanc du paradis...
J'irai vers toi
Comme on supplie pour sa foi
J'irai là-bas
Comme on insulte un roi...
J'irai là-bas
Si je sais que tu es là...
J'irai là-bas
Himalaya !
