François Auguste René Rodin (12 November 1840 – 17 November 1917), known as Auguste Rodin (/oʊˈɡuːst roʊˈdæn/; French: [oɡyst ʁɔdɛ̃]), was a French sculptor. Although Rodin is generally considered the progenitor of modern sculpture, he did not set out to rebel against the past. He was schooled traditionally, took a craftsman-like approach to his work, and desired academic recognition, although he was never accepted into Paris's foremost school of art.
Sculpturally, Rodin possessed a unique ability to model a complex, turbulent, deeply pocketed surface in clay. Many of his most notable sculptures were roundly criticized during his lifetime. They clashed with predominant figurative sculpture traditions, in which works were decorative, formulaic, or highly thematic. Rodin's most original work departed from traditional themes of mythology and allegory, modeled the human body with realism, and celebrated individual character and physicality. Rodin was sensitive to the controversy surrounding his work, but refused to change his style. Successive works brought increasing favor from the government and the artistic community.
A museum is distinguished by a collection of often unique objects that forms the core of its activities for exhibitions, education, research, etc. This differentiates it from an archive or library, where the contents may be more paper-based, replaceable and less exhibition oriented, or a private collection of art formed by an individual, family or institution that may grant no public access. A museum normally has a collecting policy for new acquisitions, so only objects in certain categories and of a certain quality are accepted into the collection. The process by which an object is formally included in the collection is called accessioning and each object is given a unique accession number.
Museum collections, and archives in general, are normally catalogued in a collection catalogue, traditionally in a card index, but nowadays in a computerized database. Transferring collection catalogues onto computer-based media is a major undertaking for most museums. All new acquisitions are normally catalogued on a computer in modern museums, but there is typically a backlog of old catalogue entries to be computerized as time and funding allows.
Vincent Lindon (born 15 July 1959) is a French actor and filmmaker who has been active for more than 30 years. At the 2015 Cannes Film Festival he won the award for Best Actor for his role in the film The Measure of a Man.
Lindon was in a relationship with Princess Caroline of Monaco from 1990 to 1995. He has a son from a previous relationship, Marcel, born in 1996. He married actress Sandrine Kiberlain in 1998, with whom he has a daughter, Suzanne. They divorced in 2008. He had a romance with Chiara Mastroianni.
He is the great-grandnephew of French industrialist André Citroën, the nephew of Jérôme Lindon who directed Les Éditions de Minuit, the first cousin of writer Mathieu Lindon and the great-grand-grand son of French Prime minister Jules Dufaure (from his mother's side).
Izïa Higelin (born 24 September 1990), more commonly known by her stage name Izia, is a French rock singer, guitarist and actress. She comes from a family of musicians; her father is Jacques Higelin and her brother is Arthur H. She released her first extended play in 2006, and her debut studio album, Izia, was released in June 2009, reaching a peak position of #31 on the French albums chart.
Izïa was born in Paris, France on 24 September 1990. She was influenced by music from an early age when her father, singer Jacques Higelin, introduced her to jazz and British pop music. At the age of seven, she formed a duo with her father; she provided the vocals while he played piano. When she was 13, Izïa started to take an interest in rock bands such as Nirvana and Led Zeppelin. At this time, she wrote her first song, titled "Hey Bitch", which later featured on her debut album.
A year later, she met Caravan Palace bassist Antoine Toustou through her parents and the pair played their first live show in 2004. Six months later, her backing group was expanded to three people when Izïa and Toustou were joined by Sébastien Hoog and Vincent Polycarpe. She left school at the age of 15 in order to concentrate on a career in music.

It also shows the international circulation of an extraordinary work of art from Paris to New York, Caracas and Melbourne. Until his death, Rodin never allowed for the statue to be cast in bronze after the scandal caused by its first public display in 1898 in Paris. Why?

I hope in viewing this video, you too might fall in love with the unbelievable sculpture of Auguste Rodin. Works by his brilliant pupil and lover Camille Claudel appear as well. French Impressionist music is performed by the sublime Pascal Roge.

Is Rodin's monumental masterpiece a failure? This video explains why there are two different versions of the same artwork, and why Rodin remained obsessed by the Gates until his death. It shows how the artist managed to solve major aesthetic issues that faced modern artists at that time. This is unique film of the father of modern sculpture, Auguste Rodin (1840-1917), working in his studio in Paris in 1915. https://vimeo.com/209199520 What is particularly interesting in the various pieces of footage is seeing – close up - the artist’s process with marble. There are four segments of film: [1] The artist walking up and down the steps of a monumental columned building, and inspecting the structure [2] Rodin posing top-hatted in a garden [3] The sculptor coming out of the then derelict C18 Hôtel Biron, which the artist used as his studio [4] Rodin sculpting in his studio Enjoy!

There's a place for us,
Somewhere a place for us.
Peace and quiet and open air
Wait for us
Somewhere.
There's a time for us,
Someday a time for us,
Time together with time to spare,
Time to learn, time to care,
Someday
Somewhere
We'll find a new way of living,
We'll find a way of forgiving
Somewhere.
There's a place for us,
A time and a place for us.
Hold my hand and we're half way there.
Hold my hand and I'll take you there
Somehow,
Someday,
We'll find a new way of living
We'll find a way, of forgiving
Somewhere
There's a place for us,
Somewhere a place for us.
Peace and quiet and open air
Hold my hand and I'll take you there
