By replacing the original Tesla motor controller, I managed to spin this amazing motor - it can put out over 300kW at almost 600Nm!
This was possible thanks to my UMC Drive motor controller, that is universal enough to run with different inverters, including Tesla, Chevrolet Volt, Toyota Prius and several others. The cool thing is that you are not limited only to the motor that the inverter was originally designed for - you can use pretty much any motor with any inverter!

Tesla Motors, Inc. is an American automotive and energy storage company that designs, manufactures, and sells luxuryelectric cars, electric vehicle powertrain components, and battery products. Tesla Motors is a public company that trades on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the symbol TSLA. During the first quarter of 2013, Tesla posted profits for the first time in its history.
Tesla first gained widespread attention following their production of the Tesla Roadster, the first fully electric sports car. The company's second vehicle is the Model S, a fully electric luxury sedan, which was followed by the Model X, a crossover. Its next vehicle is the Model 3. Global Model S sales passed the 100,000 unit milestone in December 2015, three and a half years after its introduction. The Model S was the world's best selling plug-in electric vehicle in 2015.As of December 2015, the Model S ranks as the world's second best selling plug-in car in history after the Nissan Leaf.
Tesla also markets electric powertrain components, including lithium-ion battery packs, to automakers including Daimler and Toyota. CEO Elon Musk has said that he envisions Tesla Motors as an independent automaker, aimed at eventually offering electric cars at prices affordable to the average consumer. Pricing for the Tesla Model 3 is expected to start at US$35,000 before any government incentives, and deliveries are expected to begin by 2017. In 2015, Tesla announced Tesla Energy, a suite of batteries for homes (Powerwall), businesses, and utilities (Powerpack).

Tesla Model S
The Tesla Model S is a full-sized all-electric five-door, luxury liftback, produced by Tesla Motors, and introduced in June 2012. It scored a perfect 5.0 NHTSA automobile safety rating. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) official range for the 2012 Model S Performance model equipped with an 85 kWh (310 MJ) battery pack is 265 miles (426 km), higher than any other electric car at the time. EPA rates its energy consumption at 237.5 watt·hour per kilometer (38 kWh/100 mi or 24 kWh/100 km) for a combined fuel economy of 89 miles per gallon gasoline equivalent (2.64 L/100 km or 107 mpg-imp).
The Model S became the first electric car to top the monthly new car sales ranking in any country, twice leading in Norway, in September and again in December 2013; and also in Denmark in December 2015. Global Model S sales passed the 100,000 unit milestone in December 2015.
The Model S ranked as the world's best selling plug-in electric vehicle in 2015, up from second best in 2014. The Model S also ranked as the top selling plug-in electric car in the U.S. in 2015.As of December 2015, the leading markets are the United States with a 60% share of global sales and Norway with 9.4%. Other leading country markets are China, the Netherlands, Canada, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland .As of December 2015, the Model S ranks as the world's second best selling plug-in car in history after the Nissan Leaf.

Electric car
An electric car is an automobile that is propelled by one or more electric motors, using electrical energy stored in rechargeable batteries or another energy storage device. Electric motors give electric cars instant torque, creating strong and smooth acceleration. They are also around three times as efficient as cars with an Internal combustion engine.
The first electric cars were produced in the 1880s. Electric cars were popular in the late 19th century and early 20th century, until advances in internal combustion engines and mass production of cheaper gasoline vehicles led to a decline in the use of electric drive vehicles. The energy crises of the 1970s and 1980s brought a short-lived interest in electric cars; although, those cars did not reach the mass marketing stage, as is the case in the 21st century. Since 2008, a renaissance in electric vehicle manufacturing has occurred due to advances in batteries and energy management, concerns about increasing oil prices, and the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Several national and local governments have established tax credits, subsidies, and other incentives to promote the introduction and adoption in the mass market of new electric vehicles depending on battery size and their all-electric range.

By replacing the original Tesla motor controller, I managed to spin this amazing motor - it can put out over 300kW at almost 600Nm!
This was possible thanks to my UMC Drive motor controller, that is universal enough to run with different inverters, including Tesla, Chevrolet Volt, Toyota Prius and several others. The cool thing is that you are not limited only to the motor that the inverter was originally designed for - you can use pretty much any motor with any inverter!

The Tesla Supercharger network is designed to give owners a free charging option while they’re on their way from one place to another. And with a full charge on board, the Model S is capable of more than 500km of electric driving.
Our goal was to travel from Sydney to Melbourne in a day – the first time it had been possible to do so using a public electric car recharging infrastructure.
The route from Sydney to Melbourne has long been a yard stick for the ability of cars in Australia, and now with Tesla’s Supercharger network – which includes rapid recharge facilities in Goulburn and Wodonga – it is possible to do so, for free, electrically.
Supercharger stations are located in places that you might not usually stop to recharge your own batteries means the company is helping push the local business angle. And once we reached Goulburn, we could see that the locals – including the mayor – were excited to see the company’s presence in the city centre, rather than out at the bypass service centre.
A full recharge takes about an hour to complete, and that meant time for lunch.

Towing a Trailer does not always go according to plans. It can also be a new venture for some, and even newer doing so with a Electric Vehicle, such as a Tesla.
Entering into the world of Trailer towing, With a electric vehicle, is a whole new experience. Gone are the days of your vehicle, struggling to pull a trailer up a mountain, or loss of braking power going down the other side due to over-heating brakes. Gone are the days of excessive fatigue from those long road trips towing the family camper. However, some new challenges have shown themselves, so here I am, doing my best to prepare you for whats ahead.
I also hope my experiences can help future designers with the design of electric Semi's, Lorry's, Motor homes etc..

Rundown:
1: Increased Consumption by 2-3x at Posted Speeds.
2: Drafting Semi's with TACC or Autopilot set to 7 (Safety is paramount! Added weight of trailer will INCREASE stopping Distance) will yield as much as a 25% reduction in Energy Consumption.

These are only a guideline, But do stay cautious. Please spend the extra 10 Minutes at the supercharger rather then spend a hour or longer stuck on the Freeway, or limped off the freeway juicing up on a 120v outlet to limp to the next high powered station.

Towing a Trailer does not always go according to plans. It can also be a new venture for some, and even newer doing so with a Electric Vehicle, such as a Tesla.
Entering into the world of Trailer towing, With a electric vehicle, is a whole new experience. Gone are the days of your vehicle, struggling to pull a trailer up a mountain, or loss of braking power going down the other side due to over-heating brakes. Gone are the days of excessive fatigue from those long road trips towing the family camper. However, some new challenges have shown themselves, so here I am, doing my best to prepare you for whats ahead.
I also hope my experiences can help future designers with the design of electric Semi's, Lorry's, Motor homes etc..

Rundown:
1: Increased Consumption by 2-3x at Posted Speeds.
2: Drafting Semi's with TACC or Autopilot set to 7 (Safety is paramount! Added weight of trailer will INCREASE stopping Distance) will yield as much as a 25% reduction in Energy Consumption.
