Nitin Sawhney

Nitin Sawhney (born 1964) is a British Indian musician, producer and composer. His work combines Asian and other worldwide influences with elements of jazz and electronica and often explores themes such as multiculturalism, politics and spirituality. Sawhney is also active in the promotion of arts and cultural matters, and is a patron of numerous film festivals, venues, and educational institutions.

Early years

Nitin Sawhney was raised in Rochester, Kent, England, by Punjabi immigrant parents. As a child he studied piano, classical and flamenco guitar, sitar and tabla.

Subsequently, he studied law at Liverpool University for a short time.

It was during this period that Sawhney met up with a school friend, acid-jazz keyboard-player James Taylor. Sawhney then toured as part of The James Taylor Quartet. This experience led to him forming his own band, The Jazztones. He also joined forces with tabla player and DJ/producer Talvin Singh to form the Tihai Trio.

After dropping out of university, Sawhney trained as an accountant until leaving his job as a financial controller of a hotel to pursue his promising career in music. Sawhney moved to London, where he met up with old university friend Sanjeev Bhaskar; together they created the comedy team The Secret Asians. The pair was given a show on BBC Radio, which eventually grew into the award-winning BBC TV sketch show Goodness Gracious Me. Refocusing on music, Sawhney's solo career began in 1993, when he released his debut album, Spirit Dance on his own label.

South India

South India is the area encompassing India's states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana as well as the union territories of Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep and Puducherry, occupying 19.31% of India's area (635,780 km² or 245,480 sq mi). Sonal Chauhan

Sonal Singh Chauhan (born 16 May 1987) is an Indian fashion model, singer and actress. She has won several beauty contests and made her debut as an actress in the movie Jannat.

Early life

Sonal was born in New Delhi. She studied at Delhi Public School in Greater Noida and then Philosophy honors at Gargi College in New Delhi.

Modelling career

She was crowned as the Miss World Tourism 2005 at Miri, Sarawak state of Malaysia. She is the first Indian to have claimed Miss World Tourism title. She has also appeared in the ads of brands like DishTv, Ponds and Nokia. She also appeared on the cover page of FHM and The Man magazine (October 2000). She walked the ramp as show stopper for jewellery brand YS18 at the India International Jewelry Week 2011.

Acting career

She first appeared on screen in Himesh Reshammiya's album Aap Kaa Surroor. Kunal Deshmukh, director of Jannat, saw her at a restaurant in Mumbai. He asked for her contact number, and in a week she was on the floors shooting. In the movie she was paired opposite Emraan Hashmi. She has also signed a three film deal with the Bhatts, of which two are pending. She has walked the ramp for many fashion shows and has modeled in print campaigns for brands like LG, Reliance CDMA, Hero Honda Passion, Nokia, Hindustan Times, Delhi Times, and many more. She also sang a duet with KK for one of the film's song "Kaise Bataoon".

With the media and politicians taking an interest in this scenario - the debate taking place is how will an already overburdened and openly corrupt judicial system - that has matters pending for decades - will address - leave alone resolve - this issue within the students' lifetime.

Plot: Pardes, is about Kishorilal who lives in America but has not forgotten his motherland India. He offers a marriage proposal between Ganga and Rajiv and they accept. He sends his foster son, Arjun to ensure Ganga approves of Rajiv. Ganga leaves for America with her new family and begins to adjust to her new surroundings. Her only friend is Arjun who she begins to form a special bond with. At first everything seems OK but as time goes on she realizes that Rajiv really isn't the person Arjun described to her while she was in India. She is right when she sees Rajiv smoking, drinking and to her shock finds out that he is still seeing his former girlfriend. She confronts Arjun and he realizes that he has fallen in love with her. Unfortunately her to be father-in-law sees this and he tells Arjun to leave the city. Ganga, now alone goes to Las Vegas with Rajiv. In a drunken state Rajiv tries to rape Ganga, she manages to knock him unconscious and runs away. Arjun, finds out Ganga is missing and looks for her. He finds her at a train station crying her eyes out and her clothes torn, she explains that Rajiv tried to rape her. He agrees to send her to India back to her family. Suraj Dev is misinformed with the circumstances in which Arjun brought Ganga to India. Believing Arjun ran away with Ganga, he tries to kill him. He fails and tells Arjun to leave the house. Suraj Dev does not listen to Ganga and she is locked up in a shed. She realizes that she is in love with Arjun. By this time Kishorilal has come to India. Rajiv comes as well and is ready to kill Arjun and take Ganga back to America. With the help of her brothers and sisters she manages to escape and stop Arjun from leaving. Rajiv and his friends finds them and beats Arjun up. He manages to break free and he beats Rajiv up, just when he is about to kill him, Kishorilal stops him. The truth comes out and he confesses in front of everyone is love for Ganga, yet he walks away and leaves her. Ganga tells everyone that Rajiv tried to rape her. Kishorilal realizes that his son is not good enough for Ganga and he breaks the engagement and tells Ganga to marry Arjun. Ganga and Arjun reunite and both get married.
