Hello Gorgeous!!
In this video i share with you my nighttime routine which consists of the oil cleansing method (OCM).
For those who don't know what the OCM is, it's basically a method of swapping out your harsh facial cleansers for an all natural oil.
It seems counter intuitive to use oil to CLEAN your face but trust me it works wonders. Especially if you're an oily girl like myself, you can appreciate this method because over time your face will become less oily.
Most people use a mixture of castor oil and some carrier oil such as olive oil, coconut oil or jojoba oil. I just decided to use sweet almond oil so I don't have to worry about mixing and measuring but please find what works for you!!
After cleansing your face with the oil you can either use a smaller amount to moisturize or use your favorite moisturizer.
I do this at night and in the morning I just wipe my face with warm towel. I also use Witch Hazel as a toner.

Oil can clean your face?! Crazy, I know! I felt a difference the first night I used this method. My face felt so moisturized AND clean at the same time! Store bought cleansers make my face dry so my body produces more sebum and I end up even more oily! I also get problem dry spots! Who wants all those problems from expensive soaps that don't work?!

I used to be a believer in the mantra that most acne or oily skin sufferers seem to believe in: avoid oils at all costs, oil clogs pores, look for oil free products, etc. Boy was I wrong! Castor oil
Castor oil is a vegetable oil obtained by pressing the seeds of the castor oil plant (Ricinus communis). The common name "castor oil", from which the plant gets its name, probably comes from its use as a replacement for castoreum, a perfume base made from the dried perineal glands of the beaver (castor in Latin).
Castor oil is a colorless to very pale yellow liquid with a distinct taste and odor once first ingested. Its boiling point is 313 °C (595 °F) and its density is 961 kg/m3. It is a triglyceride in which approximately 90 percent of fatty acid chains are ricinoleate. Oleate and linoleates are the other significant components.
Castor oil and its derivatives are used in the manufacturing of soaps, lubricants, hydraulic and brake fluids, paints, dyes, coatings, inks, cold resistant plastics, waxes and polishes, nylon, pharmaceuticals and perfumes.
Composition
Castor oil is well known as a source of ricinoleic acid, a monounsaturated, 18-carbon fatty acid. Among fatty acids, ricinoleic acid is unusual in that it has a hydroxyl functional group on the 12th carbon. This functional group causes ricinoleic acid (and castor oil) to be more polar than most fats. The chemical reactivity of the alcohol group also allows chemical derivatization that is not possible with most other seed oils. Because of its ricinoleic acid content, castor oil is a valuable chemical in feedstocks, commanding a higher price than other seed oils. As an example, in July 2007, Indian castor oil sold for about US$0.90 per kilogram (US$0.41 per pound) whereas U.S. soybean, sunflower and canola oilseeds sold for about US$0.30 per kilogram (US$0.14 per pound).

Hello Gorgeous!! In this video i share with you my nighttime routine which consists of the oil cleansing method (OCM). For those who don't know what the OCM is, it's basically a method of swapping out your harsh facial cleansers for an all natural oil. It seems counter intuitive to use oil to CLEAN your face but trust me it works wonders. Especially if you're an oily girl like myself, you can appreciate this method because over time your face will become less oily. Most people use a mixture of castor oil and some carrier oil such as olive oil, coconut oil or jojoba oil. In this video i share with you my nighttime routine which consists of the oil cleansing method (OCM).
For those who don't know what the OCM is, it's basically a method of swapping out your harsh facial cleansers for an all natural oil.
It seems counter intuitive to use oil to CLEAN your face but trust me it works wonders. Especially if you're an oily girl like myself, you can appreciate this method because over time your face will become less oily.
Most people use a mixture of castor oil and some carrier oil such as olive oil, coconut oil or jojoba oil. I just decided to use sweet almond oil so I don't have to worry about mixing and measuring but please find what works for you!!
After cleansing your face with the oil you can either use a smaller amount to moisturize or use your favorite moisturizer.
I do this at night and in the morning I just wipe my face with warm towel. I also use Witch Hazel as a toner.

I used to be a believer in the mantra that most acne or oily skin sufferers seem to believe in: avoid oils at all costs, oil clogs pores, look for oil free products, etc. Boy was I wrong!
