Article 371A(1) in The Constitution Of India 1949
(1) Notwithstanding anything in this Constitution,
(a) no Act of Parliament in respect of
(i) religious or social practices of the Nagas,
(ii) Naga customary law and procedure,
(iii) administration of civil and criminal justice involving decisions according to Naga customary law,
(iv) ownership and transfer of land and its resources, shall apply to the State of Nagaland unless the Legislative Assembly of Nagaland by a resolution so decides;
(b) the Governor of Nagaland shall have special responsibility with respect to law and order in the State of Nagaland for so long as in his opinion internal disturbances occurring in the Naga Hills Tuensang Area immediately before the formation of that State continue therein or in any part thereof and in the discharge of his functions in relation thereto the Governor shall, after consulting the Council of Ministers, exercise his individual judgment as to the action to be taken: Provided that if any question arises whether any matter is or is not a matter as respects which the Governor is under this sub clause required to act in the exercise of his individual judgment, the decision of the Governor in his discretion shall be final, and the validity of anything done by the Governor shall not be called in question on the ground that he ought or ought not to have acted in the exercise of his individual judgment: Provided further that if the President on receipt of a report from the Governor or otherwise is satisfied that it is no longer necessary for the Governor to have special responsibility with respect to law and order in the State of Nagaland, he may by order direct that the Governor shall cease to have such responsibility with effect from such date as may be specified in the order;
(c) in making his recommendation with respect to any demand for a grant, the Governor of Nagaland shall ensure that any money provided by the Government of India out of the Consolidated Fund of India for any specific service or purpose is included in the demand for a grant relating to that service or purpose and not in any other demand;
(d) as from such date as the Governor of nagaland may by public notification in this behalf specify, there shall be estalished a regional council for the Tuensang district consisting of thirty five members and the Governor shall in his discretion make rules providing for
(i) the composition of the regional council and the manner in which the members of the regional council shall be chosen: Provided that the Deputy Commissioner of the Tuensang district shall be the Chairman ex officio of the regional council and the Vice Chairman of the regional council shall be elected by the members thereof from amongst themselves;
(ii) the qualifications for being chosen as, and for being, members of the regional council;
(iii) the term of office of, and the salaries and allowances, if any, to be paid to members of, the regional council;
(iv) the procedure and conduct of business of the regional council;
(v) the appointment of officers and staff of the regional council and their conditions of services; and
(vi) any other matter in respect of which it is necessary to make rules for the constitution and proper functioning of the regional council

Otto Yeptho from Kohima Science College became the first Nagaland Beatbox Champion after fighting an intense tie breaker battle with the popular beatboxer from Dainty Buds School, Zonimong Imchen at NIT Nagaland, Chumukedima judged by MC Eucalips, CEO of Beatbox Without Borders with Indian Beatbox Vice Champion Ishan Nangia and Yanpvuo Kikon, Founder of indihut, The Naga Blog & Native Station.
Athozo Tsukru from Mezhur Higher was adjudged the third best beatboxer at the indihut battle which was attended by hundreds of people who braved the rainy weather to witness the top 16 beatboxers of Nagaland battle it out in the first of its kind championship in the state.
The winner received a swissbeatbox hoodie along with cash prizes and certificates sponsored by Pinnacle Skills and Aroma Eatery.
Meanwhile, the popular NAJ cosplay witnessed young Nagas who showcased their creativity with self designed costumes of various anime/comic characters.
The cosplay was won by Imtisunep for his Thranduil cosplay.
The event was a part of the Ekarikthin Festival of NIT Nagaland which featured Nagaland Anime Junkies (NAJ) Cosplay and Nagaland Beatbox Battle.

Nagaland
Nagaland /ˈnɑːɡəlænd/ is a state in Northeast India. It borders the state of Assam to the west, Arunachal Pradesh and part of Assam to the north, Burma to the east and Manipur to the south. The state capital is Kohima, and the largest city is Dimapur. It has an area of 16,579 square kilometres (6,401 sq mi) with a population of 1,980,602 per the 2011 Census of India, making it one of the smallest states of India.
The state is inhabited by 16 major tribes - Ao, Angami, Chang, Konyak, Lotha, Sumi, Chakhesang, Khiamniungan, Dimasa Kachari, Phom, Rengma, Sangtam, Yimchunger,Kuki, Zeme-Liangmai (Zeliang) and Pochury as well as a number of sub-tribes. Each tribe is unique in character with its own distinct customs, language and dress. Two threads common to all, are language and religion - English is in predominant use. Nagaland is one of three states in India where the population is mostly Christian.
Nagaland became the 16th state of India on 1 December 1963. Agriculture is the most important economic activity and the principal crops include rice, corn, millets, pulses, tobacco, oilseeds, sugarcane, potatoes, and fibers. Other significant economic activity includes forestry, tourism, insurance, real estate, and miscellaneous cottage industries. The state has experienced insurgency as well as inter-ethnic conflict since the 1950s. The violence and insecurity have long limited Nagaland's economic development, because it had to commit its scarce resources on law, order and security. In the last 15 years, the state has seen less violence and annual economic growth rates nearing 10% on a compounded basis, one of the fastest in the region.

Article 371A(1) in The Constitution Of India 1949
(1) Notwithstanding anything in this Constitution,
(a) no Act of Parliament in respect of
(i) religious or social practices of the Nagas,
(ii) Naga customary law and procedure,
(iii) administration of civil and criminal justice involving decisions according to Naga customary law,
(iv) ownership and transfer of land and its resources, shall apply to the State of Nagaland unless the Legislative Assembly of Nagaland by a resolution so decides;
(b) the Governor of Nagaland shall have special responsibility with respect to law and order in the State of Nagaland for so long as in his opinion internal disturbances occurring in the Naga Hills Tuensang Area immediately before the formation of that State continue therein or in any part thereof and in the discharge of his functions in relation thereto the Governor shall, after consulting the Council of Ministers, exercise his individual judgment as to the action to be taken: Provided that if any question arises whether any matter is or is not a matter as respects which the Governor is under this sub clause required to act in the exercise of his individual judgment, the decision of the Governor in his discretion shall be final, and the validity of anything done by the Governor shall not be called in question on the ground that he ought or ought not to have acted in the exercise of his individual judgment: Provided further that if the President on receipt of a report from the Governor or otherwise is satisfied that it is no longer necessary for the Governor to have special responsibility with respect to law and order in the State of Nagaland, he may by order direct that the Governor shall cease to have such responsibility with effect from such date as may be specified in the order;
(c) in making his recommendation with respect to any demand for a grant, the Governor of Nagaland shall ensure that any money provided by the Government of India out of the Consolidated Fund of India for any specific service or purpose is included in the demand for a grant relating to that service or purpose and not in any other demand;
(d) as from such date as the Governor of nagaland may by public notification in this behalf specify, there shall be estalished a regional council for the Tuensang district consisting of thirty five members and the Governor shall in his discretion make rules providing for
(i) the composition of the regional council and the manner in which the members of the regional council shall be chosen: Provided that the Deputy Commissioner of the Tuensang district shall be the Chairman ex officio of the regional council and the Vice Chairman of the regional council shall be elected by the members thereof from amongst themselves;
(ii) the qualifications for being chosen as, and for being, members of the regional council;
(iii) the term of office of, and the salaries and allowances, if any, to be paid to members of, the regional council;
(iv) the procedure and conduct of business of the regional council;
(v) the appointment of officers and staff of the regional council and their conditions of services; and
(vi) any other matter in respect of which it is necessary to make rules for the constitution and proper functioning of the regional council

Otto Yeptho from Kohima Science College became the first Nagaland Beatbox Champion after fighting an intense tie breaker battle with the popular beatboxer from Dainty Buds School, Zonimong Imchen at NIT Nagaland, Chumukedima judged by MC Eucalips, CEO of Beatbox Without Borders with Indian Beatbox Vice Champion Ishan Nangia and Yanpvuo Kikon, Founder of indihut, The Naga Blog & Native Station.
Athozo Tsukru from Mezhur Higher was adjudged the third best beatboxer at the indihut battle which was attended by hundreds of people who braved the rainy weather to witness the top 16 beatboxers of Nagaland battle it out in the first of its kind championship in the state.
The winner received a swissbeatbox hoodie along with cash prizes and certificates sponsored by Pinnacle Skills and Aroma Eatery.
Meanwhile, the popular NAJ cosplay witnessed young Nagas who showcased their creativity with self designed costumes of various anime/comic characters.
The cosplay was won by Imtisunep for his Thranduil cosplay.
The event was a part of the Ekarikthin Festival of NIT Nagaland which featured Nagaland Anime Junkies (NAJ) Cosplay and Nagaland Beatbox Battle.

Living Root Bridges are unique structures. Local villagers build bridges from roots of "Rubber Plant" (Ficus elastica trees). They guide the aerial roots to cross the river, and over the course of years these roots become thick and firm. Nagaland is a state in India located in the very northeastern part of the country, just to the west of Myanmar. I was excited to visit a friend in Nagaland, and before I arrived, I had no idea how important pigs were in the Naga diet. Soon I was dining on delicious pork cooked with dry bamboo shoots, rice, dal, and lots of different chili paste sauces.
But then I had an opportunity to roast and eat fresh pig intestines with my friend's grandfather - and what a fantastic idea that was! He sliced down some fresh banana leaves to use as a plate. He then took the pig intestines and sliced them into pieces. In order to roast over fire, grandfather then took bamboo and make slivers used for skewers, sharpening them to a point. He skewered each of the intestines and then prepared them to be immersed into the flames. They aren't grilled, they are roasted in Nagaland.
The grease from the pig intestines even caught on fire, as grandpa quickly blew out the flames. The result was flame charred pig intestines. They were actually quite delicious, like naturally sausage that just oozed with porky grease and flavor. I actually overall preferred the small pig intestines which were a little less oily and were slightly crunchy!
Anyway, I had an incredible time visiting Nagaland, India, and roasting pig intestines the local Naga way, should be high on anyone's priority list for a great time!

It’s a place of rugged beauty where uncharted forests clamber up toward unnamed Himalayan peaks. It’s a land of enormous variety where rhinoceros live in swampy grasslands and former head-hunters live in longhouses in the jungle. And it’s an adventure in the truest sense of the word.

In this episode, we explore the chaos of Kolkata, sip calming tea in Darjeeling and navigate the rocky roads in the North Eastern state of Sikkim.
NJP Station (New Jalpaiguri) is the gateway to the North Eastern part of India. Roads around this part of the country are pretty rough and as a result, the most common mode of transport are 4x4 jeeps (as opposed to bus's and trains).
As a tourist, you'll need to get an 'inner line permit' to visit Sikkim. These permits are issued on arrival on the land borders of Sikkim - most popular is "Rangpoo Check Post". You must ENTER and EXIT through a land border with a tourist office located on it so officials can stamp you in and stamp you out. Not all boarders have a tourist office - we learned this the hard way.

Living Root Bridges are unique structures. Local villagers build bridges from roots of "Rubber Plant" (Ficus elastica trees). They guide the aerial roots to cross the river, and over the course of years these roots become thick and firm. Thus, a tree becomes a structural element that can carry a significant load over a notable distance.
Till recently it was believed that root bridges are unique to Khasi people in the state of Meghalaya in India.
But it turns out that root bridges were built and are maintained also by the Konyak people of Nagaland!
While exploring the area around Nyahnyu village in Mon district, Phomching sub-district in Nagaland, I came a cross two long bridges, one short bridge and what appears to be a new root bridge under construction.
