A new show was put together by a team of Brazilian artists and musicians who have since then been performing a powerful portrayal of the cross around the country. In 1991, just after the fall of the Soviet Union, the international rock band "No Longer Music" did a 32-concert "Moscow to Mongolia" tour of Russia. The tour resulted in 2,000 responses to the Gospel and several new churches. This summer, 24 years later, No Longer Music made a remarkable return to Russia. They toured with "Nuteki", a new Steiger band from Moscow. With the current geopolitical and economic situation in Russia and Ukraine, this was an incredibly challenging time to be proclaiming Jesus in Russia. Everyone said it would not work. The time for public preaching of the Gospel in Russia is over. Even more absurd is the idea that an "American" western band could do this. We were the "enemy". But nothing is impossible for God... NLM is an evangelistic music and theatrical production group led by David Pierce which, for 30 years, has used the stage to communicate the Gospel of Jesus in night clubs, city squares and festivals, to young people who would never step foot into a church. This year, NLM will be doing an extensive evangelistic tour throughout Europe and parts of the Middle East. No Longer Music is a ministry of Steiger International. Steiger is a worldwide mission organization that is called to reach and disciple the “secularized global youth culture” for Jesus. Steiger uses art, music and other forms of creativity to present Jesus in a clear and relevant way and establishes a long-term presence in urban centers through ongoing outreach, discipleship and local church partnership.
